  1. Living in Japan and living in an apartment with paper walls buying expensive speakers is pointless. So I have tried to focus on headphones and a more portable set up. After years and years of trial and error I am very happy with what I have now: I have JVC HA-FX800 wood cone earphones With a Cowon music player and recently I have had all my music in flac. For ages I have said that I couldn't tell the difference between high rate mp3s and lossless formats but it wasn't until I got the JVC HA-FX800 until I really started hearing a difference. If there is really a difference or if I am just hearing more because I expect to hear more? Either way I feel I am getting more out of music than I did before, so it's all good
  2. I went there 17 years ago. A festival back then would have been so fantastic.
  3. I could get faster internet but once I go above 7GB a month the speed will drop to dial up speed. WTF? I'd rather have it a bit slower than be limited.
  4. Actually, yes it is but I buy most of my music on the internet and it's cheaper to buy them one by one abroad and pay for postage and packaging to Japan than it is to buy them here. Japanese still love physical media though which is why CD pricing remains high and the music industry remains, relatively, strong. On Topic, I've listened to these tracks on youtube and they are all fantastic, good enough to own. I am a big fan of downbeat goa and this is a fantastic collection of such tracks.
  5. It's difficult to say as I read your thoughts on it before I listened and while I agreed with them I am not sure if I was influenced by your writing. You are not going to get label owners to give you free music to review straight away, you'll have to prove yourself first, I recommend writing more reviews here in the review section and....don't restrict yourself to old releases either, reviews of newer releases will get you more recognised as will reviewing a mix of styles and albums you love, like, are not fussed about and hate. Even then it's hard to get free music but it would still be an excellent exercise to help practice your English skills.
  6. Oh my god! That was.....horrible
  7. Fantastic idea, Radi describes the feelings the music gives very nicely and I think he's shown before that he can write English quite well when concentrating. On Topic I heard Aeternum - Sunstorm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HML5Xu3C-G8 I like it a lot, dark squelchy trance
  8. For the track with most "anthem" vibe that still symbolises everything that is good about goa is
  9. This is one of those comps I've been hoping to come across in a shop but never managed it. The tracks I own, Mystery of The Yeti Part 4, Noises from the darkness (dub) and Mystical experiences are all trippy goodness and I'd really like to get the rest of them. Unfortunately prices on discogs are too high, except the one in poor condition
  10. Tetrahedron conjures up hyperspace for me, hurtling through another dimension.
  11. What about the sort of stuff on one of Cass' labels? (Cass as in Cass and Slide?) I have this comp http://www.discogs.com/Cass-Fire01PrologueCassCDx2/release/28870 and it's what I think of when I think progressive trance and not progressive pie. shame there weren't more compilations like this on the fire lable
  12. Ishqamatics - Spacebound
  13. Saw the trailer but it looked a bit shit. The missus wants to see it though so I suppose I'll have to have an opinion at some point.
  14. I actually take weekdays off for similar reasons. This area is so amazingly packed on weekends I just don't want to go out in it. I don't have kids or a wife with weekends off so the only reason is events and they're not every week in my new old man calendar so that's what holidays are for.
  15. A lot of spacey soundng music was given spacey titles because it's really spacey. It would be cool but I think unlikely if a really spacey album was called down to earth, moss roots, deep ocean trenches.
  16. I wish I was in Belgium This sounds wonderful, I'll have to make do with the 3 CD compilation.
  17. Any joy?
  18. Enjoy! Do you have weekends off though? I'm just on the train home, such a long trip.
  19. Nice! I still need ro catch up on the last few years' releases though
  20. I really like this. Really nice immersive spacey ambient. Deep full bodied stuff that takes me away every time! Wonderful stuff and you can get it for free
  21. Indeed they do. If I could manage to get through live without having to work, I'd be a happier person.
  22. Eat Static - Prepare your spirit was for me the most sci-fi sounding album, Astral Projection - Dancing Galaxy is my choice for being among the stars with naught but my skin though.
  23. MWNN - Teleport is my favourite of the popular choices and a national anthem should be far reaching. The national anthem of Abasioland though would be Genetic - Trancemission For me it has it all, spacey goodness, trippy sfx, beautiful melodies and a recognisable sample I somehow never tired of.
  24. Don't worry, I was just kidding. Just be glad that great music exists. Not everyone else has to enjoy it. LSD though is pretty accessible for non electronic fans though
