I always found a good method was take an artist you like and search for them on Discogs, check out the compilations that they are on and you'll find a load of similar artists. You can then search for those artists' albums and what compilations they appear on and follow that pattern until you are satiated.

I use psytrance as the umbrella term with prog, dark etc as subgenre's. With Goa & Psy I have never quite understood the distinction & I end up thinking of old stuff as Goa and new stuff (including what is touted as neo-goa) as Psy. Goa for me is a feeling, the feeling of being new to a scene and it really blows you away.

Ah, yes. I also try to buy direct from the label if it's one of the labels I am passionate about. Ultimae, Databloem & DataObscura are webshops I go to for their own releases; the first also for other labels' ambient. Saiko though is my shop for all Psy & Psychill. I also sometimes use Amazon, especially as I can add things to the wishlist that aunts and uncles can easily select something off
