  1. I really like old BOC... the melancholia is saturated in it as olive oil on a toasted bread
  2. and the winner is... drum roll... Rotwang!
  3. Ahh that's an easy one The Misted Muppet
  4. I agree on the fast bpm's "psycore" is no really trance inducing. And taking about psycore, I can find it entertaining for a while at parties but I usually get tired of being in the "death dome" (regarding the spiralling effects lot's of artist use) after 30-45 min, then it becomes "trivial" and then annoying. And yes that is simply because I really can't stay in my state of trance! It's like (just an analogue) being pulled out of my sleep just after reaching it's intoxicating effects, it really just doesn't do the trick for me in the long run! But that said I can definitely feel the psychedelic effect, but in the end I would like to avoid the feeling of bleeding out of my ears! For darker trance, I by far prefer forest trance (scando style, what ever you want call it), and that is because it is base on hypnotic rhythms and sounds, with out the breaks every 10-15 seconds, and bpm's usually in the 145-152 range! I started listing to psy/goa/trance in the mid-nineties (not only because of that of course) so totally get the whole trance=hypnosis thing
  5. Freakplanet - Master Of Dose damn this awesomeness!
  6. Björk - Scatterheart (Senzar Remix)
  7. Both of them are are awesome!!! In totally different ways
  8. First impressions are good, I have heard The Stains Of The Embodied Sacrifice more intensely, and I really like the atmosphere, pure dark ambient, Metamorphyses is more darkish drone-ambient, but seems really nice, but I need to listen some more to say anything else got theses bastards today :
  9. This is a fantastic EP, one of the best I have heard for years! A very clever way to introduce the fantastic sound of Artha to as many as possible! my favourite track is DNA, damn it's packing some energy, but the rest of the tracks are all very good! I can't wait for that album!
  10. Sounds promising will this album be softer than your previous album? sounds a bit like it on the samples.
  11. I agree with you on these ones (I haven't heard releases from the other labels you mention) but definitely psy(prog) to my ears. And I also agree with the Elysium that Iboga, Tribal Vision (well maybe expect for the Kino Oko release(s?) has nothing to do with psy-prog anymore, maybe once they had but that's definitely in the past! I mean releases such as Beat Bizzare - Lewd, VA - Ethnobotany, FREq - Strange Attractors were pretty psychedelic, but that's in the past!
  12. Planetary Unfolding?! It sure seems a bit expensive on discogs, it must be possible to get it cheaper somehow My dad has it LP, so I might ask him for it one day or is it Tetsu Inoue - Ambiant Otaku you are referring too!?
  13. In no particular order: "Trance" 6-Dimension Soundz Gi'iwa Production (RIP) Antiscarp Records Faerie Dragon Records Exogenic Records Psy-Harmonics Demon tea Recordings Space Baby Records Glowing Flame Records Yggdrasil Records Sanaton Records Parvati Records Schlabbaduerst Rekkords Matsuri Records(RIP) Tokyo Tekno Tribe(RIP) TIP Records(RIP) Flying Rhino Records(RIP) Blue Room Released(RIP) Cronomi Records Suntrip Records Zenon Records "Downtempo" Databloem Somnia Ultimae Records Sending Orbs Dakini Records Celestial Dragon Records Aleph Zero Records Ajana Records Timeroom Editions Interchill Records Native State Records Liquid Sound Design Thinner --- I think it's really hard singling out a few top labels, many has a very good catalogue and an important input, but no-one is perfect well perfect makes no real sense, but that's why my list is so long (anyways ) and I probably also forgot other labels I would rank as "top-labels".
  14. Ahh that's more convincing What I meant was that the clip was not an actual part of the movie (hence not a good example/"proof"). I don't remember hearing it during scenes, is it in the actual movie or at the credits?!
  15. Great label, and that album is particularly nice, very organic and soft Took me a few listens to start really appreciating it. I just want to add one of the classics: Michael Stearns - Planetary Unfolding
