  1. It’s been a while since the last tech trance album that really mastered the art form of darkness, simplicity and musicability. Cheers up to Triac for bringing the vibe back with Mean Between! Follow this sound to the vault of its sinister, appealing and appeasing inner self and brace yourself for a mind expanding journey. When dark becomes light, so to speak As with any authentic tech-trance release volume is essential, but if head phones, music portable, deaf neighbours, or festival surroundings ring a bell with you, MB will guarantee a ticket to Alice In Wonderland. These guys know their X-Dream/The Delta material, but where these seek to fry your brain Triac has a head-on dance approach closer at heart I find very appealing. And when they live up to their full potential in Encrypted Session, Yatzek’s Revenge, and Concrete Waves, you’d have to not have a pulse to not move. Outstanding! In addition, Fast Food must provide another innovative mark for progressive trance followers °.° As for the remainder, I’m sure, with the level of relentlessness, balls, and talent these guys flash it’s just a matter of time before I’ll appreciate them even more. Close to essential material for tech-trance followers, splendid cross-over material for progressive followers, and quality psychedelics for the rest of us open minded psytrance followers. Highly recommended.
  2. You DON'T wear gloves when handling Ultimae albums ... Other than that not much else to add from here for now. Another Ultimae hit.
  3. But if you DON'T want them can you then NOT get them
  4. Much obliged thank you all Just hope that these things are purchaseable within reason ...
  5. I only got to hear Pete Namlook for the first time this weekend. I was totally amazed - deep ambient landscapes. Miles away from the chillout I know. Actually a way for me now to spot a difference in chillout and ambient. I've always kinda figured they sounded likewise. Maybe they still do ...? Anyhow, Namlook was amazing. What albums are his classics? I understand he's released a bundle of records and supposedly the quality is up and down. Any recommendations? And then I also understand Klaus Schulze is offering something along the same lines? True? And what to go for there? Appreciate any recommendations you have. I don't know any of the two but from discogs I can see that some of it are real collectors items and the prices to pricey for me. So I'm looking for value for money
  6. Yeah, it's pretty good In a nutshell. This is the album Suntrip has been embarking on from the outset. And the first Suntrip release, I feel, where Mars and Fabien truly succeeds with their rendezvous of mid nineties Goa and modern production techniques. This is every bit the old skool vibe you could ask for and totally up to par soundwise with nowadays releases. Add to this most of the artists here being debutants. Whoever said Goa was going smithereens needs to check out this party baby before repeating that verdict. Of course, there are personal favourites. Cosmic Silence flags the warning, Aerosis starts party subconscious, and Red Gravity together with Afgin delivers two instant Goa classics if there ever was two. Even Filteria under the K.O.B. moniker comes through better than ever with a less-in-the-face attitude that suits him like a fist. To think I’ve had my hesitations with him in the past. Damnit, Jannis, well done And the rest is fillers? The rest is modern Goa history in the making. And brings me to ask: With dance floor adventures this challenging for feet AND mind why bother with Yabba-Dabba-Trance No. 1 mio. releases?! Sure, if you’re used to BNE releases this can welcome you like a hurricane. Too much is going on! Well, focus on one layer and let the melody take you. Then let the next one grab you ... and the next one ... Then try taking it all in at one time Congrats, Suntrip! I always knew the wait would be worthwhile. Now we just need to spread the word ...
  7. Yeah baby yeah. Ultimae ... Nice package there, bioguy. And the artwork on the Albedo in particular. I like
  8. The system works ... http://www.redmoonrecords.com/en/shop/display_accessori.asp Haven't received my order yet, though. But looks right
  9. Damniit ... does nobody CARE ?!?
  10. Hmmm ... come to think of it this might be better placed in the off topic section. But I'm placing it here. Goddagnit, 'kay Does anyone know where to order those see through protective sleeves you can wrap around your cd cases? I tried ebay "cd protective sleeves" and ordered 100 of those for 1 gbp (+ 7 gbp freight!!), but that turned out to be - of course - just those small sleeves you can store the cd/dvd piece in. I want the ones you can protect your digipack with. Can anyone help where to buy them? Or what freaking name to google? Damn ... Skelly needs a bonewoman ...
  11. Yeah, my home pc was down for two months or so. Also been having some other sparetime interests (gf) which meant I pretty much abandoned psynews ... But I'll be paying more attention again! Too bad on the Cosmosis thing. I know it's all fair, you set a maximum price not to outdo yourself and because you are not willing to pay more. But when it then goes for just a tiny bit more ... Even if it WAS your maximum already ... Thanks! Yeah, should give me a couple of listening hours. So far Koxbox is far better than I expected. And Twist Dreams last night sounded awesome!! But then I had enjoyed a spliffy .. But I'll take some time and get back on the reviewing when I've made up my mind
  12. Benza - Retrofuturism Was offered a free cd when I ordered 9 cds from saikosounds. I could choose between some 20 different cds. Chose this one. And it's pretty darn good. Nice. For free:)

  14. I remember as a child when I learned how to read I always checked the adds under porno theatres to see if the movie Caligula was still playing. With the sticker "Ægte Porno" ("Unadulterated Porn") stamped on the add Caligula had been playing for years and I was constantly amazed exactly how incredible this movie could be. My aspirations with Atmos have been the same. What seems like forever his track Klein Aber Doctor was on every dj and psyshop's top 10 list and its' legacy kept intriguing me. Well, even if not on Headcleaner the debut album from Atmos may still explain the hype. Countless are the times I've convinced myself that I could surmount Headcleaner's monotony only to discover that, instantly, the same run me over. Simplistic in appearance hidden treasures unfold when you start to question the complexity and Headcleaner has therefore proven to be an album I can keep coming back to. When it works best its' status as a modern classic is unquestionable. Still, if Headcleaner oozes confidence it's on Atmos follow up album 2nd Brigade that Tomasz' talent shines through. But for now, as an entré, I think it’s fair to call Headcleaner a pretty damn sweet album.

  16. Well, here’s an album that turned out to have its' ups and downs. Perhaps not completely taken aback Sonic Cube has me steadily set on a train to Psykedeliaville with opening track Hide when disaster hits. The most hideous euro trance sample at 4:37 totally fucking up any dedication I had. WTF?! And skipping to the next track won't put and end to my worries: That sample was no error. Has Tribal Vision gone astray? Sure thing. Last Jedi (even the title is outrageous) trips my mind just perfect when another sacrilege enters at 3:51: “I have come for the Jedi ... they are all dead!” Delivered in a dark male voice I have no choice but immediately to ask for a pair of UV-pants and some light sticks. Holy crap! In a sense this is worse than if it all stank. So close, yet, so infinitely far away ( So, the album could be skipped from here? Hell no! As it turns out Sonic Cube just wanted to place a couple of *crowd pleasers* in the beginning. Track 3 carries the same energy but without corny samples. Is this coming around still?! Yep! Track 4 is the best and the darkest track yet. Repetitious and relentless Amnesia is not giving anything away. Dedication is required but with a sound this smooth and receptive it captures me from the outset. And any fear this will be messed up by a corny sample is impossible. This is way too good. And so it goes. Practically the come back album of 2006. Of course, I have preferences but besides some annoying vocals at the end of track 5 (vocoded, though) all of tracks 5 to 8 more or less delivers and belts another Tribal Vision safe purchase. Sure, this is not groundbreaking stuff and most of the way reminiscent of earlier TV stuff ... but you can say that to me again when I’m dancing my bones off on the floors! In other words; I could hardly agree more with Profane
  17. Too much music in lately. But got this for 3 euros in a 2nd hand bin Oh damn. And 4 Sending Orbs beauties (no 4-7). The artwork is worth the price alone.
  18. Sometimes you're only confronted with an album years after its' release and you wonder: If I dodged the bullet back then why does it have to come back and haunt me now?!? What surprises me most with IM is that even most old skool psyfans praise their earlier works. What's so amazing? Not that I can't detect talent behind TG. Off course, but with an ever imminent cheesy touch lurking around I can never relax and just enjoy TG. What will it be next to spoil the mood? A stupid high pitched Mickey Mouse voice, a cheesy sample (Release Me's "Die", "Psycho" at 5:01 etc), an annoying KILLARGH part, or a Steve Vai sounding guitar section (examples are legio, but the classic example is Blue Muppet at 5:56). Sad, really, but despite occasional plusses this sums up to two fat thumbs down. IM Sorry. IM really sorry!
  19. Short list from me this year around. Have been focusing on older material and awaiting many 06 cds. Still my 2 cent. Could rate 5 cds, of course, but the ones below I consider worthy of mentioning. So much stuff I haven't heard that won't be ... 1. Various - God save the machine (tip.world) 2. Various - Oxycanta (ultimae) 3. Androcell - efflorescence (Celestial Dragon) 4. Vibrasphere - Archipelago (digital structures) Råk!
  20. Tech Trance right Oh well, potatoes, potatoes ...
  21. That'll explain the man on the cover Yoink
