wow a mountain top would be ideal, i hadn't thought of that. possibly even write the track as you climb the mountain (during rests) - that way you'd have a lovely building movement followed by a wonderful climactic finale that you can produce as you sit atop the mountain looking at the wide horizon and all below you the palm i have has a rechargebale battery...hopefully the mountain would have a cabin with a powerpoint though the battery lasts a long time

this thread has a link to a song composed in Bhajis Loops by loonie http://www.bhajis-garden.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=664 i was amazed at how such a crazy song could be made inside a Palm. anyone wondering about audio-quality or production/composition/mainpulation capabilites should check this song out. what's best is that using the palm, songs like this can be made ANYWHERE...on way to uni/work, sitting peacefully in a forest, lying on the couch

i would recommend buying one new (so the cpu is fresh and ready for your tunes). I bought a TX ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palm_tx ) 2 months ago for about $499 Australian dollars. here is a thread at Bhajis Garden related to choosing a palm http://www.bhajis-garden.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=504 but of course if you check ebay there are lots of secondhand palms, some which look like they have had very little use. you could find a bargain. Otto - yes the sound is great - when going into a mixer it is top notch. i have lately been using the Palm to create melodies in Microbe which i feed through the external source line for my SP-404...great fun and totally portable

dude, if you want portability buy a Palm and check this software out...it compromises very little for fitting in your hand and being able to be used anywhere you wish: and this is a 303 clone: sounds amazing and easy to program...this is more for live performance where as Bhajis Loops is more for producing. here's the website: http://www.chocopoolp.com/ i bought a palm to use this program and have been very impressed. it is great fun to be able to develop musical ideas anywhere you go there's a community forum here http://www.bhajis-garden.org you can listen to songs made in the software

Tips for Programming Acid Riffs?
Drew05 replied to Drew05's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
so far i have found that having the notes progress up and down rhythmically provides a pleasing noise, espeically tie-ing the second last note so that it 'slides' upwards into the loop again -
Hi guys, I have just started using Microbe ( http://www.chocopoolp.com/mi_index.php ) and I am really enjoying using the 303-esque engine to create patterns which can be filter swept to the heavens and back. I am wondering if you guys have any tips on how to program a good acid riff? Straight 16th notes seems to be the standard rhythm, but are there any scales or other note progressions you find work well? Are your acid patterns usually 1 bar loops, or longer? thanks

hahaha, brilliant! i agree with your other points too
-
don't forget Reefer Decree - Points of You!!! there's fungal winter magic in this album

i like the riffs in this one they twist in and out of each other very nicely. very nice groove, not too fast which i like. when the hats first come in is lovely interesting percussion with the flammed hats leading into the snare the riffs and melodies here gave me a feeling just like old goatrance, especially the way the way the different sections overlap and interact. but i wouldn't fuss too much about making it the 'genre' of goa, it is a sweet track and that is enough PS - is the track's title a reference to Reason's mastering suite?
-
this is a beautiful mix man, i really like how it progresses and builds. the track choice is excellent too, right up my alley
-
i love this album genuinely psychedelic, mad little spirals everywhere there's always something happening, twisted percussion etc over a SOLID bottom end highly recommended

what sort of folk music are you guys talking about?

Do you especially support acts from your country?
Drew05 replied to Tatsu's topic in General Psytrance
are Rumble Pack and Blue Vortex the same act with a different name? -
do you have a copy? if so, i will pay whatever we agree is reasonable because i don't really have anything rare to trade so if you want to sell it, let me know thanks; and peace
-
definitely Akumasama, i really like the style of music typified by the Crystal Skulls albums. you're right; sadly it seems Astrix hasn't felt like replicating that feel very much since
-
oops, i didn't mean to start any fighting thanks for the replies though, i will check out those songs
-
anyone?
-
Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if Astrix has any other tracks which are similar to these ones: Beyond The Senses, Freestyle Cafe and The Fourth Revelation. I really like it when he uses this style, especially how at the end of The Fourth Revelation it switches up to 4/4. I'm only familiar with his albums, but hopefully he has a few of these styled tracks on compilations. Or if anyone knows any similar songs from other artists, post them here too! thanks in advance; peace

i got this and the Bufo album in the mail, can't wait to get my ears into them. Cosmic Conspiracy are really the only folk providing this sort of music these days (with Zenon of course) really looking forward to delving into this...

hey Daydream, is Alloys still available anywhere?
-
wow, i didn't my question to be answered this quickly! thanks very much dude. i thought it was an Atmos track because it was within a set of his my friend gave me. looks like it was a DJ set. it's great to know the real artistwho wrote the track, and see that there are remixes. thanks again (:
-
hi can anyone help me identify an Atmos track, which has a sample of Terence McKenna saying "the further in you go, the bigger it gets"? thanks guys
-
hi guys i've been wanting to purchase Lish's debut, Dejavoodoo, for awhile, but cannot seem to find it in stock anywhere. if someone could recommend where to get it, or have a copy they'd like to sell, please let me know. thanks, peace!
-
dude, you could've bought it at the show! i'm still absorbing this cd. i really don't like the vocals (track 5 i think), and there's a few other things i'm a bit iffy about. but expectations usually tend to throw me a bit, i really need to play it alot more before i can adequately rate it.
