  1. i think Doof co-produced Angelic Particles i really like MiLooneyUm and Spiritual Antiseptic
  2. this album is wicked lots of twists and turns over a serious bottom end i really like the mix of styles and beats the melodies remind a bit of Slackbaba
  3. there you go, a comment

  4. i think this is a good idea Basilisk, especially for people new to the music i agree that Freq should get a look in, CBL is a good one or maybe Short Life Again (made a huge impact from memory) I think that Son Kite (Kob Adjustment) track is overrated, but there is a need for some minimal showcasing. maybe Stereo Sound by Cujorious One? (i think that track even originated here at psynews) also +1 to Shaolin Wooden Men
  5. Numark DM 1050 DJ Mixer I bought this to feed my vinyl turntable into before outputting to my main mixer. as a sub-mixer I guess it is ok, but this is marketed as a DJ mixer and would not do that job at all well. with minimal use the crossfader broke and now produces a scratchy hiss when moved. The EQ knobs may as well be painted on for all the gain/cut they are capabale of
  6. the music doesn't stop DJs and live acts play music that suits the time of day/night songs generally play for more than 2 minutes before being mixed in my experience there are some creative DJs, but more often it's a guy mixing from one track to the next so song choice and reading the audience becomes more important than technical wizardry i wouldn't consider adding voice samples to a song to be a remix it would be pretty hard to genuinely remix another person's song on the fly when you make your own stuff you can control all the separate channels live, add fx, mutes, transpose etc but if you are playing a CD or wav/mp3 you're pretty confined
  7. Green Nunions is a really good tune i have it on a Distance to Goa compilation it's intense
  8. so you will play .wav files from your PC? because you mention not needing CDs again. does the playing of .wav files require alot more RAM, and thus a better computer?
  9. i can see where you're coming from i haven't heard Elements, so I can't compare the two. You're probably correct in saying the music can be taken further. As it is though, Mr P's one of the few full-on artists I continually listen to and I really like his style...the melodies remind me alot of vintage Infected
  10. forgive my ignorance, but won't playing mp3 versions of songs adversely affect the sound quality?

    Asura - Life²

sweet thanks for the advice Abasio, between this and your Ishq mix you've put me onto some sweet chill recently cheers
  12. yeah those 2 tracks definitely ruin the flow of this compilation why buy a compilation if you're just going to end up with random tracks because the journey was compromised with blatantly out of place songs? I think Bodhissatva should stick to up-tempo tracks still the Ishq sounds lovely
  13. i really disagree with this recently i have heard the albums from Commercial Hippies, AMD, Tristan, latest Space Cat and Space Buddha, Cosmosis etc and none have hit me like the new Mr Peculiar. I find the albums from the aforementioned artists to have the characteristics you described, whereas the Mr P album (while still being an album filled with full-on style tunes) has a genuinely psychedelic vibe. Of course there are breaks and drops and fat rolling basslines, but they are tempered with trippy synths and neuron-shifting motifs. it is fast-paced, dancey stuff but it actually trips me out and has mental substance to it, which I find most 'full-on' releases these days fail to achieve

how do you guys rank this album compared to the first two? are they worth checking out? or are there any compilations Asura has good tracks on? i'm keen to explore this sound further

    Ishq

i've been really enjoying this mix the first and only time i'd heard Ishq before this was on Intermittent Memories this mix has made me a big fan of his sound thanks again
  17. yeah, the sounds on this album really made me realise how bland most synths in modern production are
  18. Drew05

  21. ok i gotta eat my own words i've been playing the new album for a few days now and it is fucking amazing bravo EDIT: is the album version of the single different to the version released prior to the album. maybe i heard one of the remixes, 'cos it had a really different vibe to what's on the album. (i think it had a video?)
