  1. Nice, homsy. Thanks for the link and good luck with it!
  2. Simma dahn nah, Matt. They'll show us soon enough.
  3. Juno Reactor and Pleiadians Holy crap.
  4. I have a similar feeling about Spirit Zone. They have had many good releases, but the label in general seems a little watered down, a little mainstream, if that's possible in our genre.
  5. Wasn't Menis released on Koyote? Maybe you're thinking of Semsis? If so, then I agree.
  6. Hehe. Okay, r2d2, a little bit of a stretch, but I said "maybe," first of all, and second, it's awfully hard to think of music like Cydonia and Tim Schuldt, so I did the best I could. Listen to Parasense's Mobile Love on their album, you'll see what I mean. Then listen to the fatter middle tracks on Urban Alien. I don't think it's a massive stretch.
  7. I agree - very fat. Schuldt comes closest, like kinkdog says. I also recommend UX's Ultimate Experience, and maybe even Parasense and C.O.P. (the two combined, actually, would be very close to Cydonia).
  8. Well, at two or three bucks an album in royalties, the guy has nothing to complain about.
  9. I hear ya. But at least it's something new, right? Perhaps it's just the reaction to minimal, a pendulum that has swung too far in the other direction, and where it stops will be what everybody actually wants, which is good ol' melodies on top of phat beats.
  10. I think it's interesting that after all the pissing and moaning about minimal trance the last couple of years the trend is changing back to full-on. I was wondering if that was going to happen, if all the complaining was going to make a difference. Seems it has.
  11. I think that's fantastic. I honestly didn't expect the thing to sell more than maybe 50 copies. Not that the music wasn't good, just that it's not on a big-name label, without big-name artists. Way to go!!!
  12. All time? Juno Reactor - Transmissions By far.
  13. I wouldn't. Sounds like too much of a hassle. But that's just me. Chaosexistence has full track previews in poor quality. Jaimz, I appreciate the meaning of your effort very much. I hope it leads somewhere fruitful.
  14. They peaked at "In Sides" and have regressed since. They had their moment and have been pioneers in the electronic genre as a whole, but I'd stick a fork in them. I don't think it's fair to compare them to Posford, though - two very different things. I will say that Orbital has a far more accessible sound for the masses, but as far as ingenuity is concerned, they're on par with each other.
  15. Stupidest? Hara Gobi, Synchro, Ouija, XV Kilist (album only), Skazi.
  16. My opinion: Juno Reactor Sandman Ubar Tmar X-Dream/Delta/Spirallianz/Midimiliz UX/Slide a few IM tracks a few Pleiadians/Etnica tracks
  17. P.S. It's "Chroma" City. This might help you in a search if you don't want to trade copies.
  18. Are you looking to trade originals or copies? I'd be willing to make a copy for you, and trade for a copy of Trippy Future Garden, but I will NOT part with my original Colorbox - it's one of my all-time favorites.
  19. I agree, a little build-up would be good, but I wouldn't bore them with progressive stuff. Keep it psychedelic. That's the whole point.
  20. Ciotera seems to have found a loophole in the posting legislature. According to Section 239.35(gg)(ix)(T) of the Psynews posting code, which says, "Matt, get off your high horse," his post will slide.
  21. chong - I didn't mean that people who make house music are sellouts. I meant that if a psychedelic act like IM started making house music, then I'd consider them a sellout. What I mean by that is that psy music is made for both dancing and listening, whereas house music is made almost entirely for dancing. There's a very different creative philosophy there.
  22. Your words were a little strong for an EP, EP, that's all. I've never heard you trash an act before, but you had to trash the second biggest act after Posford. Sounds like resentment, and resentment doesn't come from nowhere. When IM starts making house music, then we can start talking about them selling out, or getting old and soft. Until then a cozy little EP with Hebrew lyrics isn't hurting any of you. I'm not a huge fan of theirs - I only like two or three of their tracks - but I respect their flair for originality. And I don't enjoy people picking on those who are trying to expand themselves or have some fun.
  23. Juno Reactor - Hule Lam Juno Reactor - Conga Fury Sonic Fusion - Tribal Warrior
  24. EP - If it doesn't have international appeal, how can it be made to "please the masses?" Keep in mind that you accused them of selling out, not just that you didn't like it. Be careful with your language or someone's going to think you're envious.
