  1. Hard to pick one of the two - they're both incredible. We're lucky.
  2. My interest was peaked until that last post. I thought Meter was weak compared to other tech music. My opinion. (I liked Bug, though, for different reasons.)
  3. I've sent Duran Duran's "Rio" and "One Thing Leads to Another" by The Fixx. Those should work.
  4. Yeah, I work in a support role, too. I realized last night that almost every time I get off the phone I say something like "moron." Not very enlightened of me, for sure.
  5. I'm certainly not a fan of house, but I enjoy a little bit of happiness mixed in to psytrance once in a while. Green House Effect's "Global Warming" was very refreshing.
  6. Cyclotron and Irritant by far.
  7. Damn. Thanks a whole lot, ancientz. [Children, please move my cover to #5.] Hehe.
  8. Dude, you can't have all of them! Which one do you want? Thanks, Shpongled.
  9. That's fantastic. Not only will access to those old classics be great, but it will surely help the sales of the Psynews comps, ya? Cool.
  10. Oh, you want my eye/galaxy cover for your album? You can have it, it's not in the contest. Youngun. Hehe.
  11. Wow, thanks for the support, ancientz. Sorry you don't like it contmporentz. Anton - Of course if it doesn't win you can have it - it would be an honor! I sent four designs, and Children picked two of them to put in the contest - not my fault. #14 is mine as well, which is one you haven't seen. I really like #s 3, 16 and 38 myself - #3 because of the wicked narrative, #16 because it looks like a cool IDM cover, and #38 because it's simple and beautiful, yet psychedelic. EA
  12. Hehe. No, I was just kidding. In my original post I said the idea was only a fantasy, since even before your friendly statistics I knew a dicitionary of this sort would be almost impossible to create. Meanwhile, I was just listening to a track and heard a three-note transition that sounded very much like "Humility" or "Embarrassment."
  13. Hey Psylent Buddhi - I'm making progress on my dictionary. I've spent the entire weekend working on it. I'm up to a grand total of 12 out of 820 million transitions.
  14. Skaha - I was listening to some ambient tunes late last night in the dark and was reminded how a couple notes can carry a certain very general emotion. For instance, in the key of Gminor, going from C to D (four to five) sounds like "triumph" to me. Same with seven to eight. Whereas, for instance, going from one to two or six to seven sounds like "suspension" or "expectancy." I've experienced this many times with many different two- or maybe three-note variations in different keys. Anyway, last night I had a crazy, unrealistic, but still exciting idea to put together a sort of dictionary of musical emotions, listing all the keys and all their possible two-note changes and their respective emotions. Then I realized how colossal a task this would be. But even as a fantasy it was exciting. I don't know if that's kinda what you're getting at, but hell, thought I'd put it out there since it was fresh in my head.

    why

I've really been enjoying tech trance for a while now because its breaking the monotony of most regular psytrance. The new Wizzy Noise, X-Dream and Delta are all ground-breaking albums that are in at least a subtle way transforming the way we listen to this music. The new strength and vitality these acts and others are creating cannot be ignored and are slowly but surely paving a new road out of the musty psychedelic jungle.
  16. I think the general definition of dark around here is synonymous with "very serious," the kind of music that made the songwriters' brows furrow as they wrote it. It's an amusement park ride that's not necessarily supposed to be fun, but rather is supposed to whip the crap out of you and make you think, "Auuugh, I want off!" But as soon as you get off you want to do it again. My own definition of dark would be something more like "scary" or "horror" which is pretty rare in the genre (Delta's Scizoeffective, Cydonia, some Schuldt stuff, Xenomorph, Semsis, some Juno, some Spirallianz/Midimiliz and maybe Zerotonine).
  17. Doesn't exist, as far as I know. But I'll be checking here for responses myself...
  18. You're not alone, mad. Ambrosia is my favorite track on Infinessence. If they had an album I'd scoop it up in a second.
  19. Cough cough cough job cough cough cough!
  20. Tip: Tarsis with Linus is better than Tarsis without Linus. Try Melt.
  21. Agree completely. Juno Reactor's last two albums are examples of great packaging. I've said it before, but I think Bible of Dreams is The Perfect Package. And it's a Digipack.
  22. Sebastian Kreuger and Linus Wessel.
  23. I'm with you on that one too, PW. Transmissions is at the top of my Should Be Classics list. Also: Etnica - Equator Spirallianz - Blast Food Although I'm not as familiar with the album, I get the feeling that Oforia's Delerious should be red as well.
  24. I get the feeling that Vasyashkin has turned into Barrington. Personality's the same.
