Navigator - Mr. Jaimz was wrong about that title. It's actually "Navigator's *Bum* and a Horny Goat.avi (10/10)." Mine skips too, but probably because of the motions of my throwing up. EA

KR was mentioned in the last thread. I really enjoyed Spect-® Module, but haven't heard much about Slot Machine. What are your opinions? The reviews are not really too helpful. Okay, so it's techno-ish, but so are a lot of other psy bands with different styles. Anyone have a more in-depth description? Thanks. EA

Shpongled - My mistake. The word can be spelled both ways: "Synesthetic" OR "Synaesthetic." Although "aesthetic" alone can only be spelled one way. How about these: SYNTH AESTHETIC SYNTHAESTHETIC PSYNTH AESTHETIC PSY TO THE nTH PSYNTHETIC ORGANISMS (a play on "psy," "synth," "synthetic," and the usually opposite meanings of "synthetic" and "organic") EA

Yeah, that Quarz review and the following responses was a catastrophe of witlessness, wasn't it? Imagine what the guys from Quarz (whoever he/they are) would think if they read all that crap. :| EA
-
Then it would correctly have to be "Psynaesthetic..." Add the "a." But that would detract from the coolness of "Psynews" being in the title. Children, one-word names can be cool, you know (simplicity and succinctness). Often cooler than long, two-word names. EA Ahem. PSYNEWSTHETIC or P-Thetic for short. Hehehe. Kidding.

Holy crap, Shpongled! You got it!... "Psynewsthetic"!!! Sweet. I like it. EA

Blue Room's Signs of Life in that metallic zip-loc package. Maybe it's not a gem, but I've never heard it mentioned here before. EA

What's a $CDN? A Canadian Dollar, I assume? Where does the extra cash come about? (How much does an on-line CD cost and how much does Canada charge for an on-line order?) Just curious. Sounds debilitating. EA

EA

The only thing I can think of was the Conga Fury single (1996/1997), which included remixes of Magnetic (Leiner) and Feel the Universe (Koxbox). Otherwise, sounds like you've got something that Blue Room didn't release on a wide scale. EA

Cool. Hope I didn't offend you with my comments. EA

DJINN - I'm far from an expert on how to create a good album cover, but I'll give you some feedback since you're asking for it: - The main thing that I found from your design was that it looked more like it was created by a certain *program*, rather than by a certain *person*. - The "wow" effect caused by the type of program you're using ended sometime in the mid to late nineties. The last time I saw something similar on a psytrance album was on UX's Ultimate Experience (1997). - I would try to simplify your ideas. I was recently flabbergasted by the cover for Adrenalin Drum's recent release, for instance. Take a look. It's in the reviews. It's not highly technical in appearance, but its simplicity is striking and to the point. - *Subtlety*, *simplicity* and *originality* are the keys to good art, in my opinion. The first two come from practice and skill, the last comes from (1) listening to your heart and (2) listening to your heart and (3) listening to your heart. Do me a favor and list some album covers you really like, DJINN. Lets talk about them if you'd like to pursue the topic further. EA

Just kidding. Never been there. Heeeehehehe. EA

I'm glad to see that Scizoeffective is now highlighted - although their sound is not everyone's bag (it certainly is mine), most of us have to admit, objectively, that the album broke some serious new ground. Meanwhile, I'm sad to see that Juno Reactor's Transmissions is still not highlighted. I mean, come on. Really. SUBjectively, if I had to pick one album from my entire collection to represent the Goa sound from 1993 to present it would be that one. If my collection was on fire and I only had time to pick one album, it would be Transmissions. Let's finally get that one highlighted, shall we? If only because Juno Reactor has inspired more artists than not. EA

Let me go through the advantages of "Tech Tonic" for you: - "Tech" is self-explanatory. - "Tectonic" referring to, of course, the movement of the earth's plates. - "Tonic" means a number of things: - An intoxicating drink (album) made up of several components (tracks). - A healing mixture, or brew, again made up of several beneficial ingredients. - A mixture concocted as an explosive. So a "Tech Tonic" is either: - a technological drink that will have you on your ass; - a technological healing brew; - a technological explosive; or - ALL OF THE ABOVE. I vote for "Tech Tonic." EA

How about something not so cliche (using "psychedelic" or "underground") but related to "Underground Vibrations," like (these are all scientific terms related to the study of earthquakes, except the alternate spellings): "Seismic" "Psyzmik" "Psy-z-mik" "Seismic Mix" "Seismix" "Seismic Activity" "Seismic Vibrations" "Seismic Waves" "Seismic Moments" "Seismic Energy" "Richter Scale" "Richter Magnitudes" "Tectonic Movements" "Tectonic Vibrations" "Tectonic" "Tech Tonic" (!) Mr. Watkins, for sure.

Rules on front page say "only 1 track per artist" not "only 1 track per artist *name* or *project*" EA

nosferatu - If I recall, only the people who are not in the contest and are downloading and listening to all the tracks will be the judges - and those are selected, I believe, by the site owner, Children. There's a small but couragous label called Inpsyde (Media?) that will be releasing the album. Hope that helps. Hehe. EA
-
Looks like the title of the album should be called "Underground Hubcaps." Hehe. EA

"Toaster" "Home Appliances" "Quasar Quaken" "Mystery of the 12 Planets"

No, no, no. Please, people. Don't listen to Mr. ^^^}}}INDIDGINUS///{{{^^^. He's merely trying to fool you with cheap parlor tricks. Listen to anything else if you know what's good for you. EA
-
Hehehe. Who was that guy? Don't listen to him. And please, whatever you do, don't listen to the track. I don't know how it found it's way into the contest, or how all those weird splurgles got in there either. Hehe. Mike ...:::*(INDIDGINUS)*:::... for Vice Secretary of Fountainbleu!!! EA

You need look no further than the music of Indidginus. Check out his track in the contest called Old Man Barramundi. It's a killer. EA
