Whatever. Anyway, good luck with getting on with a label. What do you use? Maybe you've told me. FL?
Somebody responsible needs to take initiative and start a new label with some of the artists here. Seriously. Like a Suntrip for alternative electronica.
Again, very interesting work, Reznik. You understand how to keep things simple yet provocative and entrancing. Although I appreciate the rawness, I think this music deserves to be made much larger, production-wise. Like, I want this shit to really pound and zap my brain on all frequencies. In other words, large production could really be another essential instrument among the ones you have going. There's room to spare for it.
+1 Definitely a huge misconception of what "ambient" music is, which to me is atmosphere only, with rare rhythms as subtle texture.
Try Bluetech, Mr. Serious.
100% headphones. Also K701*. Although some of that is because I live in an apartment. I long for the day when I can crank the speakers and dance like a madman on a whim.

I tend not to listen to music while reading, but sometimes I do enjoy it, and definitely know how it can accentuate a book. It has to be almost entirely beatless and totally instrumental. Lately I've been listening to piano music while reading on the train to and from work.
My favorite experience with music and reading so far was many years ago when I read Samual R. Delany's book Stars in My Pocket Like Grains of Sand accompanied by Tomita's album Kosmos. Sci-fi with sci-fi. It was awesome. I was also taking cough medicine, which probably didn't harm the effect.
I didn't like the Derango album at all. I found it way too noisy and unfocused. But I do like Krumelur's stuff a lot, although I don't equate it with forest trance. I realized last week that the samples from my favorite Krumelur track, Outdoors from Paramoral, are from Tarkovsky's film Solaris. Always fun to be watching a movie and hear where samples come from as a surprise.
So what do you think of this album so far? I hate to admit that I find a little bit boring, despite being chock-full of really authentic and original sounds and beats. I've listened to it many times, and I was excited about it initially, but I found myself needing more to hold on to, like more lead elements/patterns/melodies/textures. A lot of the music sounds like very complex backgrounds. There are some moments that are really great, too. I've got mixed feelings.
NO, THE 303 WAS COOOOOL! I'm serious! It was totally unexpected, and taking people by surprise is a good thing, I think, if it's done well, and you did it well. It was really refreshing, actually, and adds to the structure.
Wow, man, great list! I relate to these points. Yeah, music seems to have cycles to it, some short, some veeeeery long. And yeah, there's definitely something to music that gets the body moving somehow against its will. Good points.
