Well, you're still an expert on what is a fair warning and what is not. Was that fair for Reznik?
-
There's no way in hell that's fair, Nemo. Seriously! Was it you who gave Reznik a warning? For trying to make a game in Off-Topic? I saw it, and even though it was sort of difficult to play, it was no worse than any other thread. Ridiculous. Really. Someone needs to save some face and remove Reznik's warning. If the boredom clause in the Psynews rules were enforced 100% of the time, Off-Topic would not exist. People go there because they have time to spare, and are most likely bored, and want to have some light-hearted fun with people around the world. Why punish someone for going with the flow? It's like kicking a dog for barking.

Ooooooooookaaaaaaaaay......? So...like...where?

That's not good enough, mars. You need to give us very clear instructions on what we're supposed to do with our time during that period. I can only pick the lint out of my bellybutton so many times, you know?

Ratatat - Classics I liked their first album, but this one is better.

What music are you listening to right now?
Otto Matta replied to Sputum Rotgut's topic in General Psytrance
Wow, that takes me back. What do you think of that stuff these days? I've been listening to Steptime in the car. Pretty cool stuff in small doses. Lots of Broken Toy and CBL on the MP3 player during commutes (World of Sleepers and Proton Electron are really, really great tracks, I've realized). -
Really? I find that very hard to believe. Who in their right mind would seek attention in that thread? Why not create positive attention-seeking threads in Off-Topic where they belong, like every other decent human being? This post has been brought to you by the word POSITIVE.

I bet if you did a search you could find it. It's there somewhere, I'm sure of it. It was great. Lots of drama and intrigue, if I recall.
-
Or the Complaints about Moderation thread. Remember that one?
-
Nice. Haven't heard that one in a while.
-
Was? Hehe. Not diverse enough to keep it, eh? No, you're right, I think it just takes more than the five or so listens I've given it so far. I had one track play randomly (Betula Pendula) tonight on my MP3 player as I was getting off the train and walking to my car. It was a pretty great soundtrack. This is essentially the scene it played in: Not that stop exactly, but similar. And a nice warm night. Pretty dreamy, I gotta admit.

If by "freestyle" you mean a place where certain people require, and get, attention, then yes.
-
Yes...boring. Allow me to cross-reference this thread with the Girlfriend thread in General Forum. Similar info.

Yeah, but 99.99% of girls don't care what a 303 is, and most of them just find that sound annoying. Girls just want a funky low end to shake their asses to, and preferably some nasty lyrics to sing along with.

This album has grown on me, but only because the majority of the tracks seem like attempts to recreate MOS 6581, which is such a great track. I wonder if that was intentional or not. Hydroponic Garden, I have to say, had more diversity on it.
-
Drums. Especially a hip hop beat. Girls cannot resist something that practically shakes their asses for them.

So, I've never used a PDA before. Is it straining on the eyes to make music on one? Is it difficult to key everything in? And what about memory issues?

That's got one of my favorite chill tracks on it: Chris Zippel - When I Felt It! I'm so in love with those lyrics, and the vocoded portion at the end. Ice, ice, ice, to the Red Sea. Pink, pink, pink, to the sky when I looked at it. Green, green, green, was the wind when I felt it. White, white, white, was the light on me. Right? Something like that? Been a few years since I heard the track. Anyway, today I got Cocoon Compilation F. It's pretty fucking good.

Wicked. Cool track. Yes, the idea of being anywhere - I was thinking up in the mountains somewhere with a huge view - and creating music of this quality is very inspiring. Bring lots of batteries, right?!
-
Maybe I misinterpreted?
-
Wow, a sequencer on a Palm. How cool is that? Attach a small portable amp and headphones and you've got yourself a pretty kickin' sound, I assume.

I look at the packaging of CDs - jewel case and especially digipaks - like LPs used to be. They're artistic presentations of the music inside them and shouldn't be separated. To separate them would mean doing a disservice to the artists who put together the concept that would go along with the music. But it's interesting how these days music really is being separated from its presentation, especially when it comes to mp3s. It's a very different experience to listen to music without artwork in your hand to guide you through that process and that ritual. But times change, I admit. I have to make the assumption that someone who cuts up the presentation of the music is someone who is from the mp3 generation as opposed to the LP generation. And there's nothing at all wrong with that. Just a different mindset.

Pavel had a thing against Ka-Sol, for some strange reason. Maybe because Charlie disliked it, too (because I liked it). Which means it's ultimately my fault.
