  1. IFO? Hehe. Yeah, no. I like listening to it, but I don't enjoy having to mess with my levels. I really don't enjoy crystalline mastering. It's gotta have a little bit of fuzz and personality but without having to adjust one's levels, but also a dynamic largeness. I like the early AP stuff, and maybe Dikovsky's stuff.
  2. Very cool. But still very expensive. I like how expressive it can be.
  3. alleycat used a good metaphor. Seems to me the creative process is somehow getting the demons out of us. I for one always feel much lighter when I've finished a piece of art; I feel like my mind is finally free enough to take care of my responsibilities (clean the apartment, pay the bills, etc.). If and when the demons start piling up it's time to start battling them again with the weapon of choice, and I find having various media with which to work is very helpful, because not all demons can be purged with the same medium. And if they start building up and for one reason or other I'm unable to exorcise them, it is a painful process indeed.
  4. Finally a good reason to like that crap music: A 14-year-old Bulgarian girl in Radi's family likes it.
  5. It's not a hassle as long as the muthafuckin' snakes don't get 'em.
  6. Obviously you'll want to make it a fashion statement and wear it in your lip.
  7. Hell yeah, man. That's all there is to it. You created a very interesting vibe there in the second half. Now you just have to extend that to full length, and the trick is keeping it interesting all the way through. Way to go!
  8. I think you're being hard on yourself for your very first project. It's not an instant thing. Your first stuff is probably going to sound crappy, but that's how everyone starts. I challenge you to create a quick, two-minute piece of music. No intro, no outro, just some good ol' four-on-the-floor with a simple transition or two. Then we can listen to it and give you advice. Start with this: Set your BPM between 135 and 140. Standard kick, four beats per measure. Hi-hats at 16th notes (16 to a measure). Open hi-hats exactly between the kicks. Snare at beat two and four of every bar. Simple (but often effective) bassline that matches the open hi-hats between the kicks. The rest is all how to make this simple formula sound interesting, and that's where you come in. In fact, if you do the above, you're bound to come up with the next little step, and the next after that, and so on. A track is made up of thousands of little decisions that you make intuitively as you go along. Two minutes, man. Call it an exercise. When you've achieved this, you'll be able to listen to how others have used this same formula in their own ways. I swear in a few months of hard work you'll look back and laugh at how you thought it was so difficult.
  9. Is it? I see as more the metal of psytrance. Punk was always a little lighter and relatively more positive. I see the Schlab sound being more like punk. It's raw and in your face, but it's not so much about horror. That's my take.
  10. It's impossible to hear their killargh cannibal music.
  11. I may not be that kidney of a person, but I never did get the tracks yesterday...
  12. Hm. Yeah, not quite ideal. Maybe Propellerheads can take the big leap with their next release.
  13. Cool. Let me know if you come across that information again.
  14. anyways, what species is this pussy? i really like. maybe i'll take another cat..

  15. LOL. Seriously, Pavel, you can't let something like this degrade your excellent sense of humor. I recommend taking it out on the music instead. "Sticks and stones..."
  16. Edit: Okay. PM on its way...
  17. I want to hear samples, dammit. Cannabis Holocaust, where can I check out your music?
  18. How about we hear their story first before judging them.
  19. My point is that there are lots of really stupid names in this genre, and some of those stupid names have good music behind them. That's all. It's the ol' "Don't judge a book by its cover" thing. I'd bet their music sucked, but I wouldn't trash them before I heard their music. Maybe it's what we've all been waiting for. You'd never know by their name alone.
  20. Cool. If you want to take it for a spin you can download the entire album from his website is decent quality: Here.
  21. Come on. Seriously. There has always been a horror portion of this scene, and one that lots of people have enjoyed for a long time. The only difference is that they haven't been as explicit with their artist name. But it's still the same thing. Horror trance. Big deal.
