  1. Go ahead with yourself, Symph! Yeah, man, I get the feeling this is going to be really effin' fun. (After the wicked learning curve is done, that is.)
  2. Does "TS" stand for Twisted System?
  3. Got it today. Will wait to install it and dive into it when I have the time to dedicate to it - maybe this weekend. Until then I'll start browsing the big ol' manuals that came with it. Very exciting. I think I've grown perky little girly breasts.
  4. I don't care how difficult it is to create a killer, full-on, rolling bassline. If it makes music sound the same as everyone else's then it's not being creative, and is therefore not interesting. At Sonica this summer everything sounded the fucking same. It was so frustrating. All day and all night, for several days, the same fucking thing! I mean, how many times do I want to listen to or dance to essentially the same track? I would say that at this moment one's really going to need some serious drugs to enjoy the majority of the music being made in this genre, which wasn't the case before. And now I hear Pleiadians doing the same thing everyone else is doing, and that's a big downer. Stupid!
  5. I see. Do you have some newer stuff you want to share? I'm always up for a listen if you don't mind my feedback too much.
  6. Yeah, I hate to say it but this sounds like everything else. I can still hear a tiny bit of Etnica/Pleiadians in there, but for the most part it sounds like typical, generic psytrance for the dancefloor. Another one bites the dust.
  7. Hey Bahamut. Nice work. Silent Angel: Very pretty and peaceful. I think this could've used more experimentation with the sounds themselves - it comes across the ears as somewhat generic and flat sounding. I hear a soft, sensitive touch, but I don't hear much personal, artful expression. It's too safe, in other words. Sedative: I like this much more. It really evokes a dreamland, or that often gentle state one enters right at the border of wakefulness and sleep, where one drifts off into a very peaceful, protected place. This one creates imagery in my head, which I think is crucial to good music. The restrained and emotive pads and melodies felt to be in the right places at the right times and I didn't want for more in that respect. I also preferred the larger soundstage of this one. But similar to Silent Angel, I found myself unable to hear your own unique, expressive fingerprint. I know it's a challenge for every artist, and I wrestle with this too, but at some point one has to let go and allow one's own heart to be expressed and heard, rather than playing it too safe by resorting to the sound of the successes of others from the past. Thanks for sharing.
  8. One of my most rewarding psy experiences was listening to Alcyone through great speakers. An intense experience. When that bassline finally drops...oh man. What a rush.
  9. One one hand I enjoy decent production, but if the music is really good I don't focus so much on the production. So if a track can have really crappy production and I listen to it a million times, I'd say that says something about the success of a track.
  10. I'm not big on the production in a couple IFO tracks, but I still really love the music. Alcyone, for instance, has some rather uncomfortable piercing highs in it, but it's still one of my all-time favorite tracks. So if one can still love a track despite less-than-perfect production, doesn't that say something about the music in general? There's a ton of perfectly produced music out there that I don't like at all.
  11. Wrong topic. You accidentally mistook this for a Posford thread.
  12. I love my mom very much. Still don't have a tattoo of her on me, though.
  13. Great feedback, Bahamut. Thank you. I was actually having similar thoughts in the last day or so - to take apart the structure and put it back together in a way that provides some more tension.
  14. Thanks for the comments, supergroover. Yeah, it definitely needs a nice production polish to bring the sounds out - a little too fat in the middle, seems to me.
  15. Please take a moment to listen to my new track and give me some feedback. Track: In Spectre Moodz Genre: Electronica Time: 7:45 Format: 128kbps MP3 Filesize: 7.56MB Location: YouSendIt Thanks!
  16. Damn, I haven't been to a show in a while. Last thing I saw was Duran Duran last year. Great show, actually.
  17. I totally agree. I didn't like the Toi Doi album. I really liked their aggressive sound, but it was way too repetetive. And I also like Twin Sharkfins way more than Demonoizer, the latter being an almost complete miss for me.
  18. Yeah, that was pretty much it, with the exception of the occasional Etnica track since. Admittedly, I haven't listened to thier handful of tracks on the several compilations they've appeared on in recent years.
  19. Yeah, my purchasing changes from month to month, too, but I have found myself being more selective of late, so I'm in the 1-5 range.
