  1. Got it. Sweet! Like x5000
  2. How are you listening? Just curious...
  3. Synaesthetic - A Positive Life Pretty cool old school dub/chill/IDM/house/ambient/whatever on Waveform, 1995. A little dated, but still fun. NP: Track 7: Hypnosystem.

    Doobius

    All praise Doobius. *bows*
  5. A mail from Arne from about a week ago: "unfortunately there are no official miliz shirts or anything.. but as soon there are i will announce it on the site. maybe we should start a merchandise-offense "
  6. I agree when speaking of psy/goa, but there's a ton of electronic stuff that will indeed survive 30 years. Hell, we're already listening to 30-year-old electronic music today. Eno, Vangelis, Jarre, Tomita, Wendy Carlos, Stockhausen, etc. But I highly doubt much psy/goa will survive. It's not really built for that. It's more dance music than art.
  7. I'm with ya on that one. Unless the samples are somehow interesting, which is rare. Was listening to Scizoeffective last night and the sample usage is very original and creative. Pop, for example. And that's part of why that album will always be a classic, but mostly because the music is so good in itself that it backs up any potentially superfluous sampling. So many other artists - an annoyingly large amount - use samples as a crutch for otherwise mediocre music. And the fact that they're almost always from Hollywood movies gets on my nerves to no end.
  8. Yeah, I didn't know it was them either. Just thought it was an odd new name related some how to all the other -welt names, and therefore electro of some sort. Then I put 1 and 1 together a few days ago, found their music last night, and - surprise, surprise - it's good.
  9. I know some of you are already familiar with this project because I've seen the name here a few times, but if you're not (and I really haven't acquainted myself until tonight), it's a Midimiliz spin-off - a little less tranced, and more blissed-out and housed (sans frommage). I've purchased their singles on MP3, and I'm officially in love. If you like the tasteful tech sound these guys are so good at, enjoyed Passages and Non Standards, appreciate a nice cross-over sound from pros who know what they're doing, then check out the samples: Border Community Kompass Musik
  10. Man, I'm very excited about this Extrawelt project. The samples at Border Community are truly wonderful. Edit: In fact, I just went ahead and bought the MP3s I could find - Soopertrack and Zu Fuss (with ambient remixes) from Border Community, and Fernweh and Drehfehler from Kompass. Luscious, luscious stuff!
  11. I bet! Gonna listen to it now, actually - at 5% its potential in headphones.
  12. So far for me: Schlab 7 (Amor & Psyche is probably my most-listened-to of '06). Ka-Sol Solstice Black Spirallianz - Stereopark Colorbox - Train to Chroma City
  13. Hehehe. Nice one. I'd take Rio over Lone Deranger anyday.
  14. Seems like a pretty solid compilation. I've been keeping an eye and ear on Electrypnose for a little while, too. And I've never heard of Blisargon Demogorgon, but if you're familiar with old-school D&D, Demogorgon was the biggest badass in the original Monster Manual (maybe he's part of some other mythology?). Takes me back, in any case. So what's up with Saikosounds slicing up some of those samples? Kinda takes the energy out of them.
  15. Hey you were using Bonetti's Defense against me, so you therefore forced me to attack with Capa Ferro. Oh, I'll be psyched about Younger Brother and Ott, too. But if and when a new Hallucinogen comes out, I will stalk and harrass you.
  16. AHAHAHAHA!!! Yeah, never understood that stuff. At all. Think you may have just accidentally confused Shakta with Space Tribe [somehow].
  17. I agree that hype can be very misleading. I've fallen for it many times, especially early on when my taste hadn't fully developed (the first Skazi album is a perfect example), but it still happens (e.g., Twisted System). And I admit I played a part in the Ka-Sol hype, but that to me wasn't really hype, because I love his music, and the album still rocks my socks in a big way. So it comes down to taste, and also about smarts - knowing how to skillfully sift through the hype. If Charlie, for instance, has poor taste and is a sucker for what's popular, then he's always going to fall for it.
  18. So passive aggressive. Typical of Brit Posford fans.
  19. The genre continues to evolve and has splintered into many sounds, but the tech and forest sounds are still very much under the umbrella. And I for one am glad there are some artists around who have the ability to stretch the limits, because that for me is what real art is about.
  20. Wicked. Supercell is such a huge track - would love to hear that one live on a big system.
  21. Aw man, your jokes in other posts were so much better than this one. They had that multi-layered thing going on that all good humor is based on. You were on a roll, Charlie! I was cheering you on! But dammit, life is cruel, because one simply can't win 'em all, can one? Alas.
