  1. Freud would certainly get a kick out of it.
  2. "A fetus in the wound"? Wow, that is deep. In fact, I could say the entire track is like a deep, gaping wound.
  3. Except it's a lime, and too close to "Lime Structure."
  4. What do the gray, blurred out bits mean?
  5. Yeah, it's a great, great album. The Grey Spook tracks are good, but there are a few on the album that rock even more. And oddly enough, it's one of the few CDs I bought from a chain store in the late 90s (Tower Records).
  6. That one's probably closest to the real thing. My list would look something like this: 1. Pleiadians - IFO 2. Spirallianz - Blast Food 3. Juno Reactor - Transmissions 4. Schlab - v. 5 5. Colorbox - Train to Chroma City
  7. Yeah, 13 was more interesting - wasn't that the one with the Trip Tonite remix?
  8. Totally agree.
  9. Definitely Pulse 10. That was probably the worst Goa-Head in my opinion.
  10. See if they're still doing the Pioneer DJ Box 1 deal where you get two CDJ-100s and a DJM-300 for a good price. That's what I did. If I remember it was around $800 for the whole shebang, whereas separately they'd be more expensive. Of course it's all pretty basic stuff, but at least it's solid. Some stores will let you finance it, too, which might be helpful if you don't have it all in cash.
  11. I'm feelin' it, man. My inner NHJO. Except his music is making my inner child cry.
  12. I'm kinda with Unikos on this one. It starts amazingly and stays that way for the first half or so, then it gets a little tired, runs short on steam. I really like the sound usage and the general structure, though.
  13. Wow, that's definitely cool. I can imagine some pretty interesting future applications when it becomes more advanced and streamlined.
  14. The release date is Ka-So-Long from now.
  15. Yikes, bro. d b Some interesting moments in there, though.
  16. Good god. Ridiculous. I hope that CD cooks dinner, does the laundry and gives a class A blowjob as it plays.
  17. I think you're right, unikos. I'd either like to go more synthetic (8-bit Kraftwerk-esque) or more organic (or rough, as you say), but it's so much easier in between. It's all about practice, and I've practically just begun. Thanks for the nice comments and honest suggestions. Very helpful.
  18. Thanks Shaft. I'll put it on the first page as well. By the way, nice assortment of samples. I did a relatively quick search for certain more obscure samples and I had trouble finding interesting ones. What's the best way to Google a particular vocal/speech sample? Just dig around for a while?
  19. It's so nice to see how human he is. Like, there's totally a person behind the music. 'Cause when I listen, it seems, like, totally some crazy robot or something going wild and burning houses or something. Why doesn't he have a record deal yet? I think the labels are just, like, totally scared of his big robot, house burning music. Except I bet they'd make, like, two crazillion dollars.
  20. You don't deserve them.
  21. Wow, highly cool. The version of Fischerspooner's Just Let Go is very cool.
  22. Where do you normally go for interesting samples? (Ones that people aren't using to death, like Hollywood and Hindu stuff.)
  23. I forgot to answer this question from you. I basically find a preset that sounds close to what I want, then I tweak the hell out of. Often it ends up sounding nothing like the original. The samples are more or less factory, though, since I haven't gotten far in my sampling knowledge. As are the drums, as I've been really lazy with those - I'd really like to get to the point where the majority are coming from the Subtractor. (Electric Dayz, my first track, used all Subtractor percussion, but was pretty simplistic.) I would definitely find a tutorial helpful. It's kinda cool that, when I'm in the mood, I'll browse around a little at the tips here and elsewhere, and usually find something useful that I would never have thought of. Yeah, I play most of my melodies by hand, then tweak them in the piano roll. And when I want to create one grahically, I use the piano roll, because I find it gives me a great deal of editing flexibility. Looks like a perfect controller keyboard. Must be nice to be able to tweak from there rather than with a mouse. My old Korg doesn't have the same communication with Reason. I look forward to hearing what you come up with. Are you going to aim for trance?
