Because you you you you you you. Goldenrod shuttle miasma. Leprechaun tantamount alleviation. Recursive looking-glass hegemony. Radical sensitive tautology. Intelligent vestibule zoology. Kinky aberrant wastelands. Phosphorescent geminid disposal. Crust, chop, chain, lop, spiral, hindsight, elevation, wicker sycophant. Any more questions?

Nice! Write the screenplay! Some visuals for you: http://settlement.arc.nasa.gov/70sArt/art.html Here's a similar one: Earth was doomed. A major, international initiative was created to use much of Earth's remaining resources and ingenuity to build a giant ship to carry colonists to a new planet. The new planet, many light years away, had been chosen for its Earth-like chemical signature. The humans are not put in stasis, so the film focuses on the many generations of humans that live on the ship, and the sociology, folklore, madness and adaptation that occur over thousands of years of travel through nearly empty space. Their destination becomes increasingly mystical as they adapt to living in the confines of their artificial world. Do they make it onto the new Earth when they finally arrive? Do they all want to? Do they even remember why they're there?

Two series I can recommend for a sort of twisted, hallucinogenic comedy experience are Wonder Showzen (sadly short-lived but amazing) and Tim and Eric's Awesome Show, Great Job. Just finished season 3 of Tim and Eric, and it's fuckin' out there.

A very nice bottle. I'm enjoying it a great deal. [/proud_owner]

I watched the first season of Trailer Park Boys. It's definitely good, and definitely original. Personally, the acting was a distraction. I found it hard to get immersed, but I'm positive if I'd continued I would've enjoyed it. Had aspects of South Park and Reno 911. I recently got hooked on Lost, and stopped at the end of the second season. It really is hugely addictive.

I'm sure. I wasn't around then, but Clash of the Titans was similar, and that was totally amazing as a kid. Medusa scared the living shit out of me.
-
You should. I think it might help you with your Spielbergitis.

A triple! I'm an idiot. Ban me before I cause any more damage!

Damn, double-post. I'll use the space to say my favorite is Tarkovsky's Stalker.

Yeah, great movie. It's also one of the few soundtracks I own. Cool stuff.

Yeah, Spielberg did a great job with those, didn't he? Great director. Perhaps even the greatest.

It's interesting to me how we're all wired to like (and dislike) different things. I find both Gilmour's and Hendrix's guitar sounds similarly abrasive and unlikeable. My counter would be Knopfler, who in my opinion has a warmer, earthier, understated tone - probably because he uses his fingers instead of a pick - and is capable of more elegance, and subtlety with melody and harmony. But that's just opinion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hHfCMh-G-s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcvDYRBz0aQ&feature=related

Happy Birthday. 10 long, short years. Much has happened.

The old school stuff that really bent my brain was Ubar Tmar's music. If it can be called old school, I'd say Macrometasomakosmos.

Not a problem. I saw that too. It's listed as 1999 in other places as well, especially all the torrent sites (probably because of Discogs) and our old friend fUSION Anomaly. So I feel I'm allowed to choose between the two dates. The album was HUGE for me in the '00s. Murpthecat - Definitely. And the synthesists.

Says "2000" on the sleeve of my CD and many places online, including The Delta's website.

I think the track is nice but that the guitar sound is hollow, muddy and dull compared to the other sounds around it. It lacks dimension and dynamism, like it was recorded in a large concrete tube or something. Find a way to make it sound sharper/crisper/brighter with an EQ (there are some standard tips online about how to make a guitar sound better with EQ, like this, as an example) and compression. Maybe run it through a gate effect or something once in a while to make it more synthetic. My opinion.

Haaa. That looks great. Thanks for the reco.

At this point it probably won't affect you as much as it would have in the past. In my opinion it was a revolution, and introduced the Glitch style to The People. The Glitch aesthetic has since become commonplace, cross-genre, but it wasn't at the time. It was certainly a revolution in my life - my biggest revolution of the '00s - which is why it's #1 on my list. My personal favorites are towards the end of the album: Calty (below) and Spiff. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wtyu86B7ZYQ The opener, Frame, is also really nice, and came with a video: http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgwJRx7I1Sg

Oops. Double-post.
