  1. So browsing the member list randomly looking for someone, I saw Ace Ventura used to post here, which got me to thinking how many other people were contributors before life/fame/gigs took over? I love when artists like Filteria for example interact with their fans openly, but fully understand when they don't as well. Which big names used to hang around that maybe got too big/busy or whatever before my time? Any big names you miss seeing around?
  2. That is a really good move, and a positive thing both for the artists, label and the consumer. Better to release, albeit a "limited" release and get their music out to people, than not at all! I think in this digital climate it's quite a mature and smart decision, that can hopefully help more future goa artists to flourish.
  3. Saw this what feels like ages ago when the screener came out, and god damn Matthew is just smashing it lately. Seems to be choosing far better roles the past years. Anyway this is easily the best movie I've seen this year, by far. Hope he wins or won whatever it is they win.
  4. I have no idea what you are trying to say really. I think i have gleamed that you are one of the people who doesn't like the "sub genreification" of psychedelic trance from its original roots. To that I would say, fair enough. Some people like categorizing stuff, it helps to easily find the stuff you like. On the other hand though it creates a separateness and homogenization within genres that wasn't there before when psy was just psy. Meh, whatcha gonna do i guess.
  5. Um.. Full on certainly is... And some progressive is, some isn't. What country are u from cyborg? Not being rude or anything but maybe people are thinking of different things?
  6. ^ Lolwut?? Looking forward to this release, nice floating stuff, interested to hear how the artist has evolved.
  7. Hmm not sure on that side of it. I know Suntrip were promoting it pretty heavy around release, and Joske is a big fan of these guys. Had a fair bit of hype here at the least. But then again I follow most new goa releases, not sure on general buying publics view. Perhaps also the timing of release was a factor, with Filteria etc around the same time it maybe overlooked by some?
  8. Hi mate, Not sure why not many replies, I know I meant to but wanted to wait until I had time to write a proper review. In the meantime, I kiiiiiind of agree with you, to an extent. For me this is rather nice overall, but its just missing that "special something", a unique characteristic that would make me keep listening. I found a lot of the sounds similar throughout and the melodies nice but not memorable. I think these guys probably have a bright future once they have more production time under their belt, and ill be looking out for their next releases
  9. Have been wondering on this lately... Often just see prog (zyce style etc) listed as Progressive Trance. Which I think is right. Neelix etc has nothing to do with psytrance to me...
  10. I would hesitate to call it "pure psytrance" as to me it has barely any psychedelic value at alll! doh! There is just no "squidginess", no melodies, no inherent Journey! London has beat into me that nano sound that is so prevalent here.. Same sounds over and over and....over! FM screeches over the top of basslines that are missing any funk or playfullness! Sure there are rare tracks i will hear in a night that have some of that, maybe one or two, but the rest of the 12 hours is just the same old thing... I guess, I can't really help you anyway :/ PS: the comp "UK psychedelic" is surely the epitome of misleading advertising! PPS: Ionized, extremely jealous! Enjoyyyy the suntripping!!
  11. He... just talked to you.. and.... wanted to have sex? With you? A stranger he just met, in the mountains... "Normal" is not the word that springs to mind. And I am a fairly open minded kind of person...lol Least it didn't end badly!
  12. Have only used Fl10 previously and just since last year Live 9. Not even sure why I switched but I am finally working better in Live now than I was in FL. nothing to do with the daw though, just how much time I've put in and they are both great I reckon. I, however still suck, and am still stuck making 2 minutes of new tracks over and over lol. Ps: Imba I listened to your newest stuff on soundcloud yesterday, some collaborations and sounding great bud. Think u have come a long way! Keep going!
  13. The Sanaton Audio Trips are well worth a listen as well. They are free here: http://www.sanatonrecords.com/trips.html
  14. Talamasca - Started writing much less intelligent music.. probably to increase bookings and go with the trends i guess. Even though he obviously can write good stuff back in the day. Etnica IM - I think they suck at what they are doing even Space Tribe/Olli Wisdom
  15. Having been to more parties than I can remember now, around the world the same thing is evident. Even though everywhere is different I feel you can pretty much pick up what people are on from the vibe they give off on the dancefloor. Now maybe if I'm tripping its all in my own head anyway, but even when not. I've found probably as expected vibes at prog parties are mostly really friendly/fluffy, usually because a lot of mdma around. Which is nice, but not exactly a deep experience and definitely not psychedelic to me. Dark parties here have a lot more psychedelics around, sometimes some really dodgy vibes and shady characters. Everyone mostly tripping and some, being London, on K. The theme though is that it's a lot less friendly vibes, some dancefloor mind battles occurring for sure. But, can be a rewarding journey well worth taking, with some deeper things going on out there. Not really for the novice partygoer... Or my Gf, heh. Full on parties, seem to attract a bit of an amphet/mdma mentality and vibe. Probably as you expect. Generally nice vibes at these but again not so deep and seem to attract a very "party hard" and young crowd. Not very psychedelic to me these days. Goa parties, well if I go off Joske everyone is sober and loving it, best vibes all round hehehe, but we will see! Do you find you pick up on vibes in a similar way? Also, Australian parties are just a mix of all, as mostly parties progress through all sorts of music hence get all sorts of drugs/people and vibes.

  17. These are two of my favourites, both Terrafractly earlier works. (2009ish)
  18. I had always avoided due to the stupid name, but this thread inspired me to try, and wow! That is actually really psychedelic intelligent music! The total opposite of what I thought they would be! Mind=blown.
  19. Well, this is something i always thought I would never say, but honestly downhill after the third album. Perhaps only because for me they reached peaks still yet unmatched, set the bar a bit too high to start with. But for that I can't blame them hah. My favourite group and possibly musical "thing" in this world and has given me a thousand lifetimes of blissful, poignant, endearing moments... In the end i can still hear Simons magic and Raja story inspiration shine through and that's what matters. I'm just glad to be still hearing Simons work at all. <3
  20. Awesome post! +1 Basically for me full on lost a lot of its actual psychedelic qualities along the way. And there just seems to be endless people making the same sounding tracks, the same thing with progressive perhaps for me. You have to go digging through more crap to find the true gems or the sound you are looking for. But they are still there if you look hard enough! I definitely don't hate it as a heap of my favourite artists are morning full on oriented.
  21. Phobos Azazel was on my radar for a while, but to be honest i found it a little bit too derivative of the whole genre. Just nothing much to make it stand out from the multitude of other producers making the same sounds. Might be just me though but its not top tier stuff to my ears. Anyway i like it ok. Prefer this though: And probably even Ajja's stuff these days if im in that mood. As far as actually psychedelic and groovy dark goes he has been at the top of his game for quite a while now.
  22. Funny you mentioned Portamento, I was just thinking the same thing when listening to it again. Those darker acidic melodies perhaps. Just a little behind Portamento in terms of production level to my ears but overall I am really loving this album at the moment. Will certainly get a review up soon if no one else does as this deserves it! @Dolmot, I think new E-Mantra album might have something to say about that hehe.
  23. Maybe I got up on wrong side of the bed the day I watched this heh. Or my expectations were different. The overly exaggerated stuff just wore me out how it all dragged on for so long. Perhaps I'm getting old! Anyway yeah 7/10 on a sunny day.
