  1. I think both routes have their place and am grateful both places like Suntrip, releasing high quality stuff on CD for those who want it, and also to NeoGoa, giving up and coming producers or those who don't wish to yet release on CD some great promotion and legs to stand on. Of course releasing some extremely high quality stuff too! Really really solid work these guys are doing for keeping the goa scene alive, I think we are quite lucky to have them! As for CD sales... I can't really comment as the past few years all my purchases went to digital downloads mostly, due to losing too many cds when moving house numerous times, shit getting scratched and just the hassle of them for me and now travelling overseas. Still though, I like to have physical copies of all my favourite artists, perhaps one day when i have bought a house and wont be losing them anymore i can re start the collection. I only hope Suntrip etc are still selling cds by then! Hopefully the digital download money goes someway towards supporting that future.
  2. Never heard of this festival until now, wish I had of could have planned to go!
  3. In Australia the dark psy often only starts around 2-3am giving much more time to prog or melodic full on earlier in the night. You would dig it Wish London would get the same idea though!
  4. I saw Neil Young this year for my birthday, was amazing as ever even at his age. Hoping to see Hawkwind in the next year while I'm in the UK as they will never come to Australia lol.
  5. I thought the US had a fairly large dubstep scene? As rubbish as that has become.. :/ Australia and electronic music... Hmmm... Not sure your average Aussie bogan even knows what that is apart from extremely commercial pop stuff the radio plays.. Or the really bad club (dubstep included) music they hear once every year when they "get on the pingazz heyyy"... Ugh.. Australia isn't really a burgeoning electronic music centre I don't think. In general, not including psy heads etc.. London however I think electronic music is quite popular, in a lot of genres. And "producing" music is still quite a buzzword here.. They have tv shows about it ffs lol.
  6. Heh, yup i agree there, Lost Theory was the best example of how to do a festival just about perfectly, for me anyways Perfect intimate size without being toooo small, great variety, great sound system, great music, and goa hehe.
  7. Yes x a million.. It's only as I get older and have been around the scene for a while that I'm really starting to notice such things though.. Perhaps at first you just are so overwhelmed and enthralled that 12 hour slots of the same sounds are ok lol.. I think it's easy for us though to point out what's wrong but its hard for me to identify what can be done to swing things back the other way? :/
  8. Agreed. The sequel... Not so much though...
  9. Nebula Meltdown album samples, again heh.. Going to be a gooooood few months for goa! http://www.suntriprecords.com/release/cat/SUNCD29/
  10. Soo what makes a party special to you? When you leave with that inspired, magical feeling, rejuvenated... And what makes a party fairly rubbish? Living in London atm I can tell you a great thing is the sheer number of parties... However... There is just No Musical Progression throughout the night What that means is, what you hear when you walk in at 10pm is the same full on you will hear when you leave at 6am The BPM doesn't even seem to change... No journey.. No new sounds, nothing exciting at all.. :/ Same goes for the prog room or the "dark" room or the "hi tech" room... So for me, what makes a great party is what London misses, a musical progression throughout the night that takes you on a journey...
  11. Whatd I miss?! And yes Radi btw, on wkends some of us aren't spending our time on psynews as we are busy doing wkend things!
  12. Don't think Rotwang is really an old school goa type of guy, so maybe he likes none. heh. Think he prefers dark psy from memory?
  13. Show some exclusive stuff eg: the sneak peaks at Filteria or whoever in the studio every now and then. Also previews of artwork etc perhaps, anything only you guys can share with fans. Keeps people feeling involved I think
  14. Really nice post Healium In the end it doesn't matter to me really as long as I like the music. I respect my favourite artists for their musical ability. Drugs or not! But I guess if someone like Derango said they never took psychs I would be shocked lol..
  15. Haha I don't think he is underrated everyone is just waiting for a new album! The reviews of The Portal were some of the most hyped on here haha.
  16. I hope this is just poor English or a joke post? To condem all drugs as "bad" is simply silly.. And to say psychedelics ruin creativity? On a psychedelic music forum? Your forum even heh.. Just.. Weird. Each to their own and everyone should choose what they do for themselves. But let's not say drugs cannot be a positive part of growing as a human being. It's all in how they are used...
  17. I think there would be a loooot of artists.. Who basically "Got the message, so then hung up the phone" to mangle a famous psychedelic quote.. Just because they didn't use drugs crazily at the time or even at all due then doesn't mean Floyd weren't verrrry aware of the psychedelic qualities of their tunes. Same goes for a lot of artists, I'm sure Billy Cosmosis had his share of experiences in his younger goa days They just don't need to take drugs to make music to take drugs to anymore (half joking!)
  18. Was fairly dissapointed by Europa Report Was hoping for something closer to Moon style of greatness... Wasn't what it delivered :/ Its IMDB rating is about right i think..
  19. Im puzzled too, by your response. Guess you are just sick of these types of threads. Fair enough. I don't know if "we" or even "you" rate stuff, but in general, the population of the world rates things yes... I didn't mean in any official capacity... And you shouldn't take the word so literally.. But certainly some artists are held in higher regard than others, same as some sports players are great yet overlooked or overshadowed.. There they could get a 6th man award though hah..
  20. Hehe good thread! Though I consume chickpeas a lot as my Gf is vegan and I never felt any super powers from them!
  21. He is really rather good in Modern Family as well. A little more refined perhaps with age.
  22. There is certainly nothing good to be had from "constantly".. But experiencing reality from an alternate perspective occasionally can be extremely beneficial and help you to grow as a human being.. Possibly see flaws in your character you never had before, things to work on in everyday life etc.. It has helped me immensely to use psychedelics in that fashion and I've learnt something every trip. Even weed, when I smoked, helped me think through things I otherwise couldn't... Because you are almost looking at yourself through new eyes.
  23. Not drunk but realised lately I have to try and control myself when out drinking... Just drink way way to excess and am not the person I usually am. Alcohol = ego inflation for me and that is something I've always tried to be against.. Leads to altercations and hurting those I love.. Ugh. Much rather a nice empathogen any day or in combination.. Seems to be the only way for me to not get in some form of trouble..
  24. It's not wise to not read the post directly above yours. I rest my face.
