  1. T Frizza brings the funk you might be looking for
  2. Wow this is actually a tough one.. As everyone said they are all great for their own reasons.. I've personally loved hearing the progression and maturation of his sound over time since Sky Input first blew my mind all those years ago. Its been refreshing to hear an artist evolve in a positive way and am so grateful his trajectory has gone as it has and hopefully continues to! In saying that, as much as i love the mayhem of SI and the exposition in Heliopolis, for me its a tie between Daze and LITW. Both of these for me are two of very few goa albums that reach perfection in their balance of melody/sound design/atmosphere/progression/storytelling. They are everything i ever wanted goa trance and psychedelic music in general to be... I know at any time i can put either of them on and just be sent on some futuristic/retro journey into inner/outer space... Like i said, perfect.
  3. Reality Pixie Australian full on with hints of Misted Muppet/Talpa and forest/suomi influences.. A full storytelling cohesive journey of an album would have been awesome.
  4. Certainly sounds like the Nano template to me..Perhaps with a bit more psychedelic flourish at least. Not to be a downer. But after hearing Dick, Tristan etc again live recently all in a row where it all just blends into the same almost long track.. This sounds like it would fit right in there unfortunately.. Not really hearing the difference you are talking about.. Dick and Tristan, Martian arts even etc have some tracks very similar to this kind of stuff.. Anyways, will give the full release a listen if you are saying there is probably more to it..
  5. Last time I saw Talamasca, in London for the first time (i think i posted on here in excitement) I was bitterly dissapointed.. Now back in Aus and he is coming to a friends party in a month or so... I am not..that hopeful with this new stuff.. I got to talk to him in London that night and he was an awesome guy.. I couldn't bear to ask him why the change in direction etc face to face. Maybe I will this time who knows..He is quite approachable so we will see. As to the drugs/influence thing.. I think of course its correct that there is just a broader audience now and a lot of parties/fests go for numbers and the evil thing of money.. Hence a lot of producers end up with this watered down shite catering to the lowest common denominator...This has been known/debated on these boards for years haha. For me it just makes it all the sweeter when artists don't fall into that trap hah. PS: In Oz good acid is def still around quite a lot (nbome etc too of course) Not everyone is tripping, and not even the majority but probably 1/3 I would say at most parties.
  6. Its good, as others said for the labels and end user indeed.. But imo it needs a lot of work from the Ux/Ui design standpoint.. Its like.. 10 years behind the curve..Once they catch up everyone will benefit!
  7. Haha, nice haul man Unfortunately no, my gf wouldn't know what i have/don't have to buy something like that, unless it was a ticket for a festival or an album i had been talking about for ages or something.
  8. Cheers for the heads up, awesome release. Something bothered me about 3:29-3:36 of Infinitarium Im not sure if its clipping or just the sudden introduction of new sound... Anyways the rest of the EP is great stuff, so i will give him 7 seconds haha. Hopefully he continues to grow in his own style this way!
  9. I think the title track is my fave, really funky, groovier stuff. Been a while since I've had some Atriohm in my ears, really good to hear him progressing.
  10. Ok! Filteria - Daze of our Lives The moment i heard Jannis step up his storytelling game as far as tracks go. It was a new level beyond his earlier stuff for me. Filteria - Lost in The Wild A huge continuation/progression from the above, blew me away and will for a long time. Shakta - Retroscape One of a handful of almost perfect albums imo. Filteria - Sky Input Changed my life in a way and really set me on the goa path crazy as that may sound. It was what made me dig deeper and deeper into old school goa. Celestial Intelligence - Perpetual Energy Raw as botulism and full to the brim with power it sounded fresh at first listen and for me still does today
  11. You must have missed my entire first post?... I mentioned i wondered why it wasn't more popular and that to me it sounds like good full power goa lol.. Nothing negative about it at all. Was just wondering how we as a whole define it, which others have answered in a few ways. Anyways, as you were.
  12. Haha I know right! I did a double take and checked my sobriety level when i saw they posted it on fb... was like..wait..am i..ok right now? hah.. What a time to be alive!
  13. Samples sound nice to me on speakers so far. I'm just happy to hear some more RA tbh! Agree he has never been for everyone, but i feel like there is an unmistakable flow or style to his stuff that I always liked. Sad to read between the lines that this might be the last one, but better than none at all.
  14. Um.. could anyone else not decipher a single word of that post or is it just me? lol..
  15. At home I'm mostly listening with headphones, ATH-M50's, they're pretty good but I still miss hearing and feeling the sound like others said. Mostly thats not an option for me though as we are in a small apartment for now and the walls are not very thick lol.. Also, trance in general the constant kick/bass sounds really travel and easily piss off neighbours so I try to be respectfull. Sometimes if I've had a few too many drinks or something I forget that and crank up the hifi late at night, until the gf reminds me im being a dick!
  16. http://www.dreamlandmagazine.com.au/ Australian psy magazine.. focusing on psychedlic/doof culture mostly in oz. A few contributions by yours truly. Hard to keep such a thing alive in australia sadly and not sure if they are still going as cost and such a small size of audience is hard to balance. +1 for mushroom mag though, may it live forever.
  17. Never. Lol... That would be quite the time in between drinks, so to say, if they did...
  18. A'ight I'll take Spacey Koala seeing how its from one of my favourite Oz labels and im on of few Aussies here hah..
  19. So, as the topic says, what is the actual best country in the world to hear world class Goa Trance artists live sets? Perhaps Belgium? Sure, but then in between parties there is not much landscape wise and visual wise for travellers to see? India, Anjuuna Goa itself, I have just done recently last year and it is certainly not there, I heard maybe one track mentioned here in the last year that is it... Also, would love to hear someone elses experiences of explaining to people in Goa how Goa trance is not being played..... hah...
  20. One of my highlights of my whole time in UK was just getting to hear him play a set and say hi at a semi small party. I was blown away. Awesome awesome tunes and an equally awesome guy! He has a style all of his own as you guys said, and doesn't compromise on what he likes to write just to fit in some niche of the genre. Super keen for the next output!
