  1. Haha getting ahead of myself! Ahh Radical Distortion I didn't even know had a new release, must check it out!
  2. They do seem to love darkpsy here indeed...Wonder if it has something to do with the weather.. Hmm.
  3. Mmm so we are more than halfway through the year and there has been a heap of great releases so far. I'm sure I've missed out on some so share your top five so far and we might all discover something we have missed or that has slipped through the cracks! Mine: 5. Texas Faggot – Tranz toilette / Rytmimystiikka - If you like their style you probably already have this 4. U recken - Light At the End of The World - Full on/Prog in the typical U-recken wonderfully polished style. If you like his other stuff well..u know. 3. Trold - Time for Solution - An album I have been waiting a long time for, full on style but not typically. Trold has a certain charm for me 2. Dimension 5 - Transstellar - Of course. The best goa release so far for me this year. 1. Terrafractyl - A Speck of Dust - My favourite release so far this year, only five tracks but a really nice journey through them.
  4. Can hear a couple tracks on youtube already I think. Heres my favourite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTJIhEnXIVQ
  5. Artist: Terrafractyl Title: A Speck of Dust Label: Kinematic Records Date: March, 2013 1. Thoughts of Mind 2. Retribalization 3. Care to Join Us (Vs Launchpad) 4. A Speck of Dust 5. Machinery of Nature http://kinematicrecords.bandcamp.com/album/a-speck-of-dust Terrafractyl is a name synonymous with the Aussie morning psy scene, and one that every self respecting doofer knows well by now. Over the last decade or so he has been pushing forward his own unique blend of melodic morning psytrance with hints of jazz and extreme doses of psychedelia, all tied together in a funky musical and uplifting way. Following up from the success of last years Electronic Evolution, Felix Greenlees brings us this five track EP - A Speck of Dust.. At once evoking images of the vast expanse of space in an all too distant universe, A Speck of Dust continues right where last years Electronic Evolution left off, perhaps taking things in a slightly different direction for those with discerning ears. From the opening notes you are instantly transported into the familiar Terrafractyl world filled to the brim with psychedelic intricacies just waiting to be explored by the intrepid traveller... A Speck of Dust is a journey in and of itself. The first track Thoughts of Mind is a true to form Terrafractyl masterpiece that will send any listener on a trip through inner space.. Wasting no time it kicks off with a funky bassline and intricately reverberating psychedelic leads that weave their way through the audio spectrum. Some perfectly placed samples reignite the track halfway through as some deft percussions work keeps things flowing nicely until the climax. 7/10 Retribalization is an absolutely stellar track that captures the imagination and sends the mind reeling and the feet stomping. Some of the most psychedelic sounds of the album flow throughout as Felix’ audio wizardry shines through. Perfectly pitched leads guide the listener gently through the vast landscape while a funky beat underlays the whole thing throughout. 8/10 Care to Join Us is a slightly darker track starting with a beautiful sample and growing to a crescendo at its peak that has a break and vocal samples that will send any dancefloor into a frenzy. 8/10 The title track, A Speck of Dust is a prototypical Terrafractyl track, continuing with the theme of human evolution and our not too distant future. Big basslines and funked out sounds all the way through, with lush piano lead melodies spiralling and swirling throughout. 8/10 The last track The Machinery of Nature is more progressive in style, with a gentle and building flow, reminiscent of some of Felix’s other projects almost, but with the distinct Terrafractyl style. 7.5/10 Overall this EP flows gradually and precisely through an almost dark vaccuum of humanity, possibly some of his “darkest” tracks yet, in the context of Terrafractyl at least. It takes a peek at our coming future, the hopes, possibilities and dreams as we truly enter the electronic age. From classic style morning tracks to more progressive, almost Hypnagog like sounds. A Speck of Dust is a beautiful aural journey and one of my favourite Terrafractyl releases yet, and thats saying a lot. Overall: 8/10
  6. Lol. Mmm I always liked these for a sort of summer feeling Artifact 303 - Tropical Sunset http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqurFqTWM_4 Khetzal - listening winds http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oanuJmloe4s
  7. Ahh that sucks but Germany at least has Antares festival, with a lot if actual goa which I want to get to, no!? Though maybe not anywhere near your area?
  8. Can't waitttt And I would kill to see BSF in London some time... Just convince someone to do a goa night for once!
  9. Keen but I recall liking one album more than the other. Think it was his first one. Either way this will be extremely psychedelic no doubt
  10. So I'm just wondering how the "scene" is around the world and what type of stuff is getting played the most at psy parties atm. When I was in Aus it was a lot of mixed genre type festivals, and single psy nights were sometimes dark or full on but mostly a progression through all genres over the night. Since being in London it seems mostly either full on in the main room that mostly all sounds the same (or occasionally dark) and prog in the 2nd room. There is a crapload more parties here though every week, it's just that the variety of actual music isn't very big..
  11. Comfortably Numb for Daves guitar solo one last time...
  12. That list of Tatsu'up there is quite good actually. U-Recken - all albums are worth at least a listen I will add Terrafractyl - All albums/tracks Maybe try Trold as well. I classify as full on not dark or forest. Mmm also old Talamasca. *Note: these are my good non-generic recommendations, from someone so sick of the London full on scene and generic overused fm leads for 12 hours straight every party...
  13. Shit would be an understatement it always looks like its going to rain...but doesn't.. Or does.. But, I had never seen snow until I stepped off the plane here so that was pretty cool and its been the best time of my life (I did it for a girl)
  14. That Skarma track is epic I thought it was Astral almost for a second! And umm fark I thought this mean Jannis was doing more KOB now i realise its just an old track
  15. Banned for life. Wait, no im not a mod heh Nah that sucks you didn't dig it! Hopefully the rest of the album is more what you are after. Im sure some tracks Raj features less prominently than others like in the rest of their albums
  16. Some of the best and far too few and far in between moments lately though, have been at home, with friends watching the floor dance to the sounds of psy... Or the ceiling. Or a multi coloured bowl of milk.. Normally however I have been at work listening 8 hours a day. At home though usually on the computer or stereo when I was at home. Sometimes lounge room dancing, usually chair dancing.
  17. Well I have been a graphic artist for 7/8 years full time and just moved from Australia to London for 2 year working holiday. A few months back went through all job search stuff, recruiters etc, so many recruiters here and being in a different country, its crazy. In the end I found a good one who has hooked me up with continuing freelance work at some of londons top ad agencies every week. Pretty good money and awesome experience/folio stuff for when I go home. Soon need a break from london already though after only 5 months hah.
  18. I love that movie seems a lot of ppl don't though as I've tried to show numerous friends and Gf and they hate it. Too b grade/weird for some!
  19. I think, sometimes, goats live on mountains in the most precarious manner.
  20. I love when Simon gives a little taste of what he could still do psytrance wise if he wanted in shpongle tracks... Just like a tiny little reminder that he is still the king haha...
  21. Chill out mate. But to be quite honest i don't really know "Boris Blenn" Tracks... I know some Electric Universe tracks.. To me its like asking for the best Max Lanfranconi tracks... I would just say Etnica instead... Only because i don't know boris has other stuff. I will check it out though.
  22. So everyone here obviously loves music, psy, goa, whatever u dig. What I'm curious about is how you listen to it, like through a huge crystal clear tuned hifi system pissing off the neighbours? Monitor speakers? Nice headphones or shitty earphones? I see some of you with epic goa cd collections and imagine you have equally epic systems to play them through. I myself am on the other side of the world from all my possessions atm so it is just earphones for me and god forbid laptop speakers occasionally.
  23. Yeah I thought that might be the case. Haven't been for a couple years but it is definitely a different place these days than it was. Wish I saw it in the real beginnings! Beautiful place though, no matter the crowd.
