  1. I love goa and psy through anything but hearing it through a proper system can't be beat IMO. Last weekends Suntrip party in Nottingham really got me thinking about this. The sound there was finally up to my rather high standards! Hah. (I believe it was a nicely tuned F1 rig?) What made it in my mind was that it wasn't just a large lump of speakers up front, but rather a more quadraphonic ( not exactly but I'm not sure the terminology?) approach similar to festivals with stacks at the rear and sides also. For me lately I loved the system at Boom also, really crisp at the time, and loud enough even for my speaker pressing ears.. So what have u heard and loved??
  2. ^^ That, was one of the best sets i have ever had the pleasure of hearing! I believe I was so blown away i actually forgot to grab a CD in the end hah!
  3. Did you get to see them with both David and Roger? Or even just David?? I have only seen rogers tours in the last ten years in aus, still i am grateful for that even! Best I can hope for to see DG (and he is my favourite guitarist) is his possible upcoming solo tour next year I think. On topic: I am thinking of actually saving this album, to listen to all at once at an opportune time, for the first time. Never thought my favourite band would release another album, now I almost don't want to listen to it until the time is totally and utterly perfect... if that makes sense.
  4. I can say, wholeheartedly that the Suntrip party in the UK this past weekend more than restored my faith, a thousand times over. All the slogs through the boring prog bog and generic full on marches at other parties amount to nothing after experiencing the sweet succulent sound of goa through a proper system. Joske and co are doing incredible work spreading goa imo and the love they pour into everything is really palpable. I am really reeeeallly grateful to have been able to experience that! As for the Australian scene, thats nice Jaza, and good to hear! Once a quarter is better than none at all haha. Now, I just have to piece my mind back together slightly. Cheers, franki, Paul Eye, Joske, and PsycheDanic
  5. ^^^This. I hope the album isn't in that style after listening to it. Really dampened my enthusiasm! wtf! Dennis you are better than that !
  6. ^^ Goddam a lot of full on/twilight in those pics! Nice haul though!
  7. The thing I love about Hux Flux is you just know it is at least going to be Psychedelic! Something sorely missing lately imo! Goa or not, this should be goooood. One of few artists who actually i am never dissapointed with, specially live.
  8. Hey Joske, will you have copies of this at Suntrip Uk party by then or have to order online only?
  9. Nice to see some people coming! Hopefully say hi hey! @Dolmot, whats hmm!?
  10. making anymore Goa trance as he posted previously, but the other day I saw a new E Mantra album advertised as coming soon on facebook? Is this just a collection of previous stuff or will be released under a new name?
  11. ^^ Awesome summary of his sound I think he has a touch of khetzal in there as well sometimes, only faintly. hah. But yes, agreed 100% Please indeed! Nice to hear he is taking on more bookings again. Lets hope it sparks the drive to finish a new album. Would hate for him to be remembered as a one album wonder, as incredible as it is! My ears are ready for a follow up for quite a few years now!
  12. Kind of on the lines of this thread i suppose, but is anyone from here going to the Nottingham Suntrip UK party here apart from Joske and I?? Its somewhat ironic and my gf cant understand it, that the last time I am going to hear actual Goa trance live before moving back to Australia is in Notttingham and not in Goa. hahaha :s
  13. So, it was almost universally agreed on here and everywhere else goa related that Back to Space kicked major ass when it was released, not to mention his incredible va releases. To my mind Artifact303 is probably one of my top 5 new school producers, possibly just producers in general depending on my mood. Will there be another album, a sequel to Back to Space ever?? I have never heard a bad track from him and he fills a unique void in the goa sound to me. It just seems not right to release something so great and not follow it up! But i know these things take time. Anyone know what is doing? Has he ever posted here btw? And if you forgot:
  14. /dead. Its high level i will give it that haha.
  15. While you are here anyways, what gear were you using for E mantra stuff since the beginning Emmanuel and has it changed/evolved over time??
  16. Haha Joske Have already booked our hotel in Nottingham and trains for the suntrip party man! Of course! See you there one last time for quite a while my friend. As for the rest well, maybe when I get back to australia I can do my own stuff but I know how hard it is. And for some reason australia is quite "anti shanti" in a way and definitely anti goa... I have some friends putting on big festivals though and if I pay they might let me get some goa like Filteria over for a change :-) Guess I just really needed to vent, I love the scene and what it means to me and what it can be, but when you aren't feeling the music it's hard to feel anything at all. Needless to say, looking forward to the event Joske Cheers guys for letting me realise I'm not the only one.. My gf says I'm jaded but frankly I never liked mediocre psytrance, only the best of the best! (To my taste) as that is what the psychedelic experience demands.
  17. Think this release deserves some more reviews after listening to the full track previews repeatedly. Really nice and somehow mature sounding stuff. Very Cronomi style which I love. About to purchase atm and will get a proper review up once it sinks in. You guys shouldn't sleep on this one though!
  18. Well, yeah Belgium is indeed the place for goa trance I'd say, and was lucky enough to be at the Suntrip anniversary party there and it was amazing for me. Goa is just a (few month long/until the pounds run out, hah) stopover on the way home to Aus from our working holiday in the UK. Hopefully get to explore India a bit as we have never been anywhere near there! NOT looking forward to coming back to the reality of the Australian psytrance scene whene we eventually return to the "real world"...
  19. "Psytrance" parties that is... In general, I am speaking about London parties right now. Over the last almost two years we have been here I have developed a distaste for what a lot of people call psytrance.. Predominantly full on and progressive parties just do nothing for me anymore and it actually kind of makes me sad :/ When we first got here I was so excited and enthusiastic about the multitude of parties to choose from almost every weekend.. But after a while the shine faded and I am having to accept that it is just not the music I like I can't find anything psychedelic in a drop or break every few minutes, let alone trance inducing... Last weekends GMS earthdance party really set this in for me... I thought maybe, just maybe I could enjoy it. But I couldn't, there were no melodies, they played a tonne of cheesy newer stuff rather than their at least somewhat psychedelic stuff... I don't know if this is just a phase or? I felt the same way at Boom except when goa was playing for 6 hours or so. Whadya reckon? Has this happened to anyone else? I still love good, Melodic full on, but it is just never played.. Anyway, we move to Goa in December, hopefully it is not the same deal there.. (I am well aware it may be and not expecting to hear goa trance, that's not why we are going!)
  20. Agreed. They were on another level musical complexity wise to my ears. When i want to hear layer upon layer and discover new sounds i never heard before I usually turn to them, or Filteria as said above, but don't want to turn this into a comparison thread. Maia is one of the most complex tracks i have heard sound wise
  21. I don't know the track, but no shit, at Boom I heard the fullonish track with the sample: "We humbly re-introduce psychedelics" Three. different. times. Twice in one day even... And it really did nothing for me every time.. Can't say about goa tracks as i havent been anywhere that played goa for more than one day!
  22. +1 BSF - that is one of the best tracks of the crossover style to have come out in the last years. PS: Your caps lock key seems to be stuck. xox
  23. Its still quite hard for me to fathom that there is actually a somewhat goa style producer from NZ! If you knew the scene in Aus/NZ there is literally zero goa parties/goa played at all, so this is music to my ears indeed even though it straddles the line
  24. Awesome! As someone who loved "From Other Spaces" more than their follow up i am keen to see where this one ends up in my list and how/if they have grown! Samples are sounding nice to the ears, still with that ethnic unmistakeable Goasia vibe that I really dig!
