Oh no, the nitz allusion only counts for the track he did for us, he was just curious to try out something else. I can't name one track from him I don't like at all, his Goa stuff, his downtempo stuff, it rocks. I am only partially aware of his reputation as a DJ, but I think I saw an old flyer on your discogs profile where he was booked as a DJ on some kind of hardcore/jungle/etc party (could be wrong and too lazy to check)...seems indeed like he has a longer history, with his album being one of his more recent achievments. Anyhow, I'd like to hear some new music from his side...and I wonder why no oldschool label contacted him already

Some years ago, when his album was released on Metapsychic Records, he got loads of great replies and lenghty reviews on that. The moment I heard his tunes I knew this was the kind of Goa I had been looking for: sweet melodies & tight rhythms, without loosing itself in an overdose of layers or unnessecary complexity. Two of my favorite tracks back then were Mayana and Over The Clouds. I also booked him once on a party in Belgium, and he's a very down-to-earth fellow. I wonder why no oldschool labels out there considered releasing a real full-lenght CD of him, because he has the skills. Lately he seems to slip away into oblivion . However, he released a new track on Goatronika, and I'm also happy to have a Nitzhogoaish tune of him on my own upcoming CD... What are your thoughts?

Yeah, good job! Sexy track

Hehe, seems to me you're still in your young & fresh phase and experimenting around with FL! The track lacks structure and is therefore kinda messy, also there is no bassline playing, which reminds me completely of my own demo's when I just started...took me months to discover tracks actually needed a bass, so I recognize myself in this tune! It was fun to listen and there were some nice parts (2:22) too! Keep on going and exploring, fo sho you'll find your way!!!

Didn't download it yet but it's obvious this will be hot stuff. Will download now and give reply tomorrow Go flapsus!

Well I do agree a lot on these two points, hence why we created Sita Records...however it's kinda oriental all the way @Djuna: You probably know most of it, but again, I guess your taste matches Cronomi Records, Space Baby Records and maybe also a few other 'freelance'-artists such as Arronax, Innerself & Liquid Mind... I enjoy their music a lot, but since my childhood I've always been attracted by larger-than-life cheeze, so that's my main preference *EDIT* Ultiva Records also fits the list!

The trackname is Vox & DJ Steve - Euphoria What do I win?

+1 With all due respect, but I'm getting bored with all these endless Newschool-Oldschool superiority debates. Each period has it's bad names and each period has it's good names. And strangely enough, nobody 100% agrees with anybody else about which names are the bad ones and which are the good ones. It's called: tha fabulous miracle of taste and subjectiveness !!

Ah well, it's all just music, personally I don't pay attention to often to the texts...i do believe stuff such as VNV Nation tries and achieves in providing strong lyrics though. @ Penzoline: Yeah baby, that Electronaut track is tha shit! One of my personal favorites too!

Just received the mastered versions and they sound awesome. Nice, loud & sparkling, with a good amount of punch! MP3 samples will be up next week fo sho! -
I agree with Arronax. Of course you can just create a bunch of quick and randomish melodies, but to make a real standout melody is another thing. Personally I think it's the most difficult and important part. Sometimes it takes me months before I am happy with a melody!

What I particulary like in this kind of tunes is the massive snares they use...like in that tune Starry posted . Another one, without creepy vocals , maybe too cheezy for some though: That snare on 1:17 is so smashing , I want to use them in my Nitzhonot tracks! I believe it's some kind of old reworked Disco snare...dunno...

The specific genre we're talking about is Synthpop/Futurepop. I like it a lot, initially because of the melodies, after some time you get used to and are able to appreciate vocals too however, as long as they go not too screamy. Some nice fellows in this style: *Mind.In.A.Box *Fractured *VNV Nation (obviously!) *Asphyxia *Apoptygma Berzerk (old stuff...their new music is like some kind of poprock) *Suicide Commando *Flesh Field

Nice ravetrack and cool live performing...good work bro!

You're doing some great reviews lately mate! To stay on topic, my favorite track is the Armageddance tune...what a stomper! I was blown away when I heard it...

Find new Nitz for me!

Yes, it's good to have some variation within the scene. I think the melodic overweight nowadays is mainly due to the (deserved!) popularity of Suntrip Records. They've always been highlighting the very melodic Goa stuff (except for Ka-Sol) and are definetely better known than other labels such as Ultiva or Cronomi that are pulling out darker stuff. However, the Suntrippers also promised us a darker compilation in two months. Anyhow...melodies remain on top for me! And thx for the album appreciation btw!

Imo there's quite some of us swoggers making the more acidic/dark/forest sounds! *Liquid Mind *Alienapia *Amanians *Arronax *Innerself *Portamento Just to name a few...
