1. Awesome news. Any idea what type of electronica this will be?? A recent song he did on 2006's Peace Therapy Vol 2 comp was a more Down-Tempo/Trance song with some goa influence. I really liked it (although less impressive than a handful of goatrance songs he's done). It would be very interesting hearing more of that if [that] goa-influenced Down-Tempo Trance is the style he's pursing... or another goatrance gem. I'd be surprised if he made an entire goatrance album again (although that would impressive) unless, unlike Earth Crossing (superb work btw) it's gonna get released for real this time. Any idea what type of music his style will be on the next full, main album?? Such news is very comfortable. I generally love this artists work. He is one of the few greats left producing quality electronica music who hasn't sold out.
2. Hmmm... I came here to complain about the same thing. Each time over the last several days I try to send a PM I get a white screen that says at the top: IPS Driver Error There appears to be an error with the database. You can try to refresh the page by clicking here What's going on here guys?
3. How about Prometheous's second album? Those samples are longer than 30 seconds. Also I read your great words over Robot-O-Chan. Surely there are several albums that you won't want to jump out of a window over. 2007 will hopefully be less weak (to put it nicely) year than 2006. It seems much good work released in 2004 so it seems that next potential wave would be at least 2 years later. Hahaha. lol. I don't know why I thought that was funny initially. Both that and the lettuce, wtf. I admit, I too haven't invested much in Psy in 2006. Just coz something doesn't suck doesn't require me to spend $18 on it. Save your money for the few great ones is my current moto. They last longer and I dislike regretting implulsive buying in retrospect.
4. Yes. I'll try not to add too much here after spending so much time and energy in the other Pleiadians forums, the Artist News and Labels announcements and/or music promotion forum thread(s) in the last third of 2006. Many posts in PREVIOUS THREADS were based on speculation and good assumptions (before this released) by many listeners aware of how their music has taken the generally formulatic mainstream turn towards barely psy [club trance] since around 2000 on. It's no surprise, but when you hear of a new album OF COURSE the mind associates to their earlier cult-classic albums. Ask me what I think of I.F.O?? I own and love that album. It's in my top 5 favorite albums of all time in the entire electronica realm. I also think F.O.L. is great but back then it felt disappointing compared to I.F.O. which released soon before it. I recently wrote a full review for F.O.L. here (1999 review thread) so check it out if you're interested. My intuitions were generally correct, I just had to hear it to be certain. It sounds better than much Full On currently releasing on the market and the melodies for the main part make it happen -- for Full On Dance Club Trance. I realize this album isn't intended to be goatrance.. but what simlistic melodies and space-samples they do add are not enough to capture us over the entire simplistic style of a now tired, over-exposed genre. It may sound good on the dance floor, but so does most good Full On. Beyond that, that's it. There isn't anything else here on a deeper level. At times a song or two begins having that more goa influence/sound (because it is) but it stops right there as soon as it begins.. and repeats... and stays within the four sides of the limited club trance box. It never evolves other than to change a sound or direction with that slight goatrance feel. They always keep the song held down so it will be club-friendly no matter what. In other words, they add what seems like a goa melody or two on top of club trance in few songs. I presume this is a success for them because now more people will buy and hear their music. It's more friendly for the general clubs than ever before. That doesn't make it better however and I don't think they care anymore, long as their making money which is understandable. Maybe they do some fresher things with the base line. I don't know. Whatever they do, this isn't The Pleiadians anymore because The Pleiadians were 4 people and the most talented 2 obviously left for good. If almost any other NON ONCE great goatrance artist NAME was placed on the cover (change cover too) ... the feedback and reviews would most likely be good, not great. It's difficult asking all the old fansto bend over and forget about their first two releases. In that sense, it's a major disappointment to those who had faith. It's impossible to forget about what they have accomplished in music and enjoy this knowing what has been experienced and done before. It's understandable. To all others really into Full On and/or unaware of Pleiadians before... this will generally appreal to you more. You can't forget the taste of candy once the candy is taken away and the plastic wrapper is placed in your mouth. This is different (albeit basic and predictable) style they were going for all along so people should come to accept that and move on. For FULL ON it's pretty good, nothing great or innovative. ANYTHING ELSE - Failure to goa/psy fans.
5. OMG.. HAHAHAHA!!! Dude are you serious?
6. One of the TOP best downtempo/chill albums of 2006 deserves to be brought back up to the top. Saiko Sounds: http://tinyurl.com/kz79j Updated on 1/5/07. I listened through his album again today. Track 2 and 6 are really something here and track 5 almost sounds like goa in slowed down motion to a degree, those melodies. This artist has potential to make a masterpiece. If this guy creates a Down-Tempo follow-up sequel to this one with songs as great and superb (and/or better i.e: amazing, innovative, groundbreaking if possible, stunnning!) as his Top BEST stuff here, (and ever) it is very possible. I was not impressed by his other (dark psytrance) album released earlier in 2006 (less engaging, gripping) but after hearing those melodies in his work on the song Oscillate on the Crazy Goblins and Wicked Pixie comp, I'm convinced he can make a far more ambitious, imaginative, wild, layered (melodies!) dynamic, catchy, and kickass dark psytrance album also! The balls in his court. What's next. Down-Tempo, dark psy or something else. I'd think he'd want to take a break from downtempo and release some singles before launching another album so soon. This artists can make a masterpiece. He's very talanted. More [superb] songs like and beyond tracks 2 and 6 here, and Perce Oreille found on 2006's "A Magical Journey" comp would be very impressive. I love these songs!! Electrypnose's Juste Pour Toi track on 2006's Future Sound Theory comp sounded very good or great based on the sample I heard.
7. Since the changes on here, I noticed some of my previous reviews have codes (numbers and letters sentences) around certain areas where I had enlarged words, size , etc. FOR EXAMPLE, this was what happened when I went back to my Peace Therapy 2 review in 2006 here. V/A - PEACE THERAPY 2 That was once the title! Why is this? Can and will it be corrected? Many of my reviews look fine and others have these codes that have appeared around them, the text. This also appearaed to my score during that same review. Why did the site do this? SEE BELOW: SCORE: 8.9 out of 10 ........ B+ Can someone please explain why these coded sentences are happening to some of my reviews??
8. This sounds like a good album, potentially better than the first. It sounds darker too at times. I most like tracks 1, 3, and 5 so far based on samples. This album sounds a bit more aggressive and danceable than the debut. http://www.twistedrecords.co.uk/shop/catal...35fe84ed9bf806c
9. 2007 - COMING OUT.. Suntrip releases. - (you guys should get Chi-A.D... I'm telling you) RA album!! Next TALPA album?? I heard it's finished. When is the release date?? I hope this follow-up is a big leap over the great debut. New Ethereal album?? NEW Transwave album still interests me some and the TRANSWAVE COMP with unreleased and "BEST OF" goatrance songs more so. I WANT... A sequel to PHUTUREPRIMITIVE('s) excellent "SUB CONSCIOUS" album released in '04 or '05 in the downtempo genre. This is my most favorite downtempo album EVER next to Shpongle 1+2!!!! BUY and/or SAMPLE it here on amazon for less: http://www.amazon.com/Sub-Conscious-Phutur...TF8&s=music ALSO I wonder what main album SIMON POSTFORD will release next. Will this artist return to his roots?? There are enough ppl on the planet to create great sales with a Hallucinogen 3 if that ever happened. I wish he considered the idea of pursuing a third goatrance masterpiece, that is -- if he could really pull something groundbreaking out of his ass... again. Since after 2004 I have been cutting back, investing less on these albums, the psytrance scene. If an album is truly great or special to me (as Suntrip has generally been) I'll buy it. I enforce quality over quantity now more than ever before. Many albums in general are not worth anywhere near around $18 with shipping included IMHO. All the money-backed marketed mainstream garbage blinds much of the quality that has less money to market it. Thankfully I can learn about the next best goa/psy thing on here.
10. Overrated. Lacks melodies and WOW moments. It all gets tiresome after a while, like one harsh continuous track. Tracks like Poisenous Square generally have more ingenuity and character going on, more substance. Other tracks fail to arrest my attention and I get bored of all the psy-sounds piled up on top of each other with rarely ANY stand out moments and memorable melodies. And I don't feel like arguing with the die-hard Derango fans out there who swear this is one of the best psytrance albums ever. These are my feelings and you're entitled to yours. Hopefully a follow-up will make some significant improvments on certain things, intruduce some real AWESOME melodies (!!) (or ANY REAL MELODIES AT ALL!!) and captivate an even wider audience with some real dance floor killers than do not go full on obviously and don't sound as noisy and uneventful as some of the VERY trippy and psychedelic [but not much more] songs here.
11. This is a fucking awesome downtempo album and I hope they release another just as great or even better.
12. A strong way to start off the New Year. With a ROCKET!!!!!!!! This will be the first great album of 2007. I almost wet my panties from several of the samples. Count me in. I'm really looking forward to this!!
13. My most favorite PSY albums of 2006. List subject to change before poll count. I really have no idea who deserves #1, as no album below made me say WOW as a whole aside from having several great songs on it this year. 1. V/A - PEACE THERAPY Vol. 2 ...... B+ 2. FILTERIA - HELIOPOLIS ...... B+ 3. ELECTRYPNOSE - SUBLIMINAL MELANCHOLIES ....... B+ 4. KA-SOL - FAIRYTALE ...... B 5. V/A - PYRAMIDAL TRANCENDENCE (unreleased) ...... B 6. JIKKENTEKI - THE LONG WALK HOME - B 7. OOOD - FREE RANGE 8. MANTRIX - UNIVERSAL ...... B- 9. PSYFACTOR - ENDLESS UNIVERSE 10. ELECTRYPNOSE - LE TIREUR DES FICELLES ...... B-
14. I like what I hear in track 12, followed by track 7 and 9 most so far. There are some catchy melodies throughout some of the songs. On certain songs however, something seems to be lacking, more layers of catchy melodies, imagination, and ideas...a build up to something amazing, even a climax. I like several songs here and I may order the album. There is this playful, fun attitude on here that I generally like.
15. Radi man, An artist becomes better by feedback from others. The synth work sounds cool. The kickdrum and bassline is too soft and could use more kick and strength. This is an easy thing to fix. I like how the song starts off, the initial melodies. The track has some very good ideas (especially with synths) but it gets too repetitive and uninteresting by the 3rd or 4th minute. With some work this thing could be better, much better.

Sandman - Witchcraft

Wow I never was aware he made a third Sandman album. I would have loved to hear it, still would. I agree this was better than Psycho Toons. I agree. There's something alluring, intriguing to this album, the backdrops in various tracks. WITCHCRAFT is like this very artistic, magical, fantasy/dark (but not totally black, I agree) goatrance album that achieves its flavor through lots of experimentation and probably tons of work and staying up very late (or early) when the mind seems to be more influenced with sub-conscious states and moods assiciated to dreams and nightmares. Through light and dark comes together this spiritual off-balance that seems to have an even darker edge due to few well chosen and placed horror samples. I find this album so much more enjoyable and interesting to listen to than Psycho Toons. It's overall a very dark and complex album that appeals to certain tastes. You either like it or you do not.
17. SANDMAN - PSYCHO TOONS 2000 01. 08'38" U Turn ... B- 02. 09'25" Loop In Control ... B+ 03. 06'12" The Attack Of The Killer Virus ... C+ 04. 07'26" Psycho Toons ... B 05. 08'45" Cyber Zoo ... B- 06. 07'59" Analog Laughing Machine ... B 07. 08'40" Layla ... B 08. 08'01" Toys R Us ... B- After years passed I decided to dig this one up from the collection. Initially, back in 2000, there was one song that really stood out to me, that being "Analog Laughing Machine," but strange enough, perspectives can drastically change over time. I really like track 2 and find it one of, if not THE best song here. It's a really good song and several others are very cool also. I always favored Sandmans debut album Witchcraft over Psycho Toons and I still do. Witchcraft I felt had better, more catchy and developed melodies and sounds. It was significantly darker than this follow-up which is dark but not nearly as... Witchcraft had great melodies and imaginative song designs... the intros, samples, and atmosphere really crowned it as one of the best dark goatrance albums ever. Psycho Toons has generally less melodies, soundscapes, and atmosphere than Witchcraft. It's more psytrance, not goatrance in that there are more strange sounds around the beat than melodies at more times than not. There are some good melodies and moments on this follow-up too. Track 4 fits the Psycho Toons theme most with it's distorted, crazy cartoon voice/sound bits. It's definitey original and unexpected in a pretty good way. My gripe with this album is that some songs aren't nearly as catchy and interesting as others on the same album. I realize not every song can be great but this artist did such great work on Witchcraft. Greatness appears to not be nearly as often on this album IMO. Nevertheless, it still is Sandman and it's good. There are some great ideas and some very catchy melodies and sounds regardless, (tracks 2, 7). I do feel more imagination and work could have gone into some songs. Tracks 3 and 5 for example I find somewhat boring and unexciting/uneventful. Of course, this wasn't intended to be Witchcraft part 2. Sometimes I'm not satisfied with where the songs go, their direction. Several songs here get repetitive before a cool, fresh sound or melody arrives (tracks 1, 6, 7) to spice things up and add more interest. Other songs (track 2 for starters) seem to remain strong and engaging throughout. Regardless, there are a good amount of changes and ideas throughout overall album and each song sounds different. Psycho Toons is pretty good, occasionally interesting, thoughtful, fun to listen to, and at times great, just nothing superb or classic as a whole. HIGHLIGHTS: 2, 4, 6, 7. There are some nice tunes on track 1 but as with some other tracks ... they fade from memory as soon as the song ends it seems. There are some very interesting catchy moments in track 7, especially with that bell like sound which arrives on top of the beat at around 4:45. That's very cool sounding and reminds me more of Witchcraft's more interesting, involved, layered, (sounds) and unique style. OVERALL SCORE: B- or 8/10
18. It's not available to download any longer. Can you upload it again?? I want to hear it.
19. Yea... for Full On it sounds pretty good. For Pleiadians it sounds nothing like them. The difficult thing is not thinking and comparing old Pleiadians to this while hearing this. People who like good Full On would probably better enjoy this if they can get over that big bump. Pleiadians are now doing a completely different style and as much I would have been captivated with interest and excitement if the group would reunite and create I.F.O. pt: 2 ... it is what it is and we should look at it for what it is.
20. Interesting. The concept seems innovative I presume. But wouldn't this take an awful lot of work to do something that can be perfected on the cpu? You have two hands trying to sync everything up eventually it would seem difficult mixing (bringing in and out) multiple layers of sounds with so many objects on the whatever-thing they're on. Still, looks interesting.
21. Ahhh, I just saw it. The cover looks alright...would've been cooler had they made one of those great, trippy, detailed ones from the old-school era. Oh well, it was always about the music anyway. I'm lookin forward to hearing the new tracks here! Actually, after watching that Transwave video where they chopped up Land of Freedom to a Full On club trance song, I'm far more interested in their new released "OLDER" songs than I am their new ones.
