  1. All three albums by Haltya although the first one is the most "soumi" one. If your looking for more melodic stuff, Aavepyörä - Elektro fluoro punx is great. For a heavy tint towards the GOA style, try Torakka - Far Out Express this album also happens to be one of my favourites all categories included, its really excellent.
  2. Great album. I actually like Rise Up to The Sun, very playful melodies, surely on the brighter side of the album.
  3. This is one of my favourite albums. Every time I listen to it, I feel so impressed by its complex organic nature and the melodic interchanges; this album just oozes of talent and originality.
  4. I liked The Prodigy when I was a child.
  5. I like that, it has a poetic touch to it when written in a forum.
  6. AMD - Big Fish This is my favourite full-on album. The energies are great, melodies are not cheezy and songs rely more on grooves and moods. I also love the science fiction-feel to it. Psydrop - Fantasy Seeds Excellent full-on, I think this more similar to the examples you listed. Intergalactic - The Future This is also quite like the albums you mentioned, and pretty great. More on the melodic side.
  7. I think "Through Friendly Waters" is far superior to My Dogan, have you heard it?
  8. Turn the BPM down to about 130-140 when you listen to Furious. I found that there isnt that much more going on than in any other random song, still sounds good though.
  9. To me the five first songs of The Orb - Orbus Terrarum are unbeaten in the richness of their soundscapes. I love how mostly the melodies are irrelevant or just small pieces of the ambient, and the music never falls in the trap of just stacking pads and drones. When I compare the album to other ambient/chillout pieces they always fall short in their lack of depth and layerdness (lets say thats a word). I would love to have my opinions questioned however. Which music, in the category of ambient and chillout do you feel has the richest soundscape? Interpret the question as you wish.
  10. Bump for greatness. Don't be scared by the stupid cover, there's nothing stupid about the music. One of my favourites of the year, a few of these tracks are incredible (the rest are just great). Scarlet's Dawning (7) is a track I usually send friends who are interested but novice in psy, since I feel it has the power to transcend its genré.
  11. "Sleep concert", now that sounds like fun. The Orb - A Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules From the Centre of the Ultraworld : ~18 mins
  12. I love this album, it has such a mellow and not-in-your-face quality while still maintaining good full-on energy.
  13. I just hate reality so much when I listen to this, the universe it depicts is much too beautiful. What an amazing album, it implies a fact that is worth weeping over; that music like this probably wont be made again, because the time and circumstances that created it where much too unique to be resurrected. Like a childhood friend, I can't see why I would ever stop playing this album certain evenings.
  14. I found Tor.Ma in Dub - Big Blue Story to be pretty good.
  15. I like tracks 3 and 4 a lot, particularly 3 is a real standout. Very smooth sound all around, much easier home-listening than run-of-the-mill dark.
  16. I'll say Khooman - It's Only Dust On The Road
  17. This is absolutely wonderful, except track 5 which I do not care for at all. It contains some kind of rapping. Also track 4 gets old since it has a very long sample with Joe Rogan, or whatever that guy's name is. Other tracks are great though, highly recommended.
  18. I just assumed you were a gay satanic hippie.
  19. I think your pretty awesome. "Salaiset kauniit paikat" on Electro Fluoro Punx is definitely one of the most impressive melodic pieces I've heard.
  20. Maybe she looks like a guy, since you think she's hot and you evidently are gay. Cool review though.
  21. When I listen to Kettel I feel my masculinity slipping away, not because the music is gay, but because I cant help loving this fucking guy, and thats definitely gay.
  22. Defining cheese would be hard, because such definition would have to consider musical complexity (or at the very least, whatever happens in milk) or some other very abstract concept. Nevertheless, I find this album similar to those mentioned because its appeal lies in (clearly emotional?) melodies, rather than more profound musical stimulation.
  23. Although I found this album pretty excellent the first week of listening, it quickly got boring. This is the trademark of cheese, it does not take further investigation to establish that this album is full of said substance. All to my sadness.
