1. No. It looks like it cramps your style when you say: It makes me look like a twat if Ormion can't tell the difference between the tracks I posted? No, that isn't what I said at all. It makes you look like a twat when you tell Ormion that he's unable to properly understand music because he hasn't been around as long as you, as I said. Can you tell the difference? Again, no. That isn't what I said at all. If you insist on ignoring what I wrote and pretending I wrote something completely different then it's necessary for me to repeat what I actually wrote. If you don't like repetition then try reading what I write the first time I write it. And yet you wrote as if you did. I don't care.
2. Right. Right. Yes. You've been doing the latter. No, I don't care in the slightest. You're the one who brought it up in the first place despite it being completely irrelevant to the topic at hand, so apparently you're the one with some kind of complex about it. No, why would it? Does it cramp your style that Ormion has an opinion of his own? Apparently it cramps it enough that you feel the need to start bragging about how old you are. No. Instead you told Ormion that he's unable to properly understand music because he hasn't been around as long as you. That made you look like a twat. I have read everything you've written ITT. Look, while we're on the subject of things that are not arguments, "you just can't understand music as well as I can because I've been listening to it for longer than you so ner ner ner" is not an argument. I like arguments. If you have some arguments to support your opinion then go ahead and post them. But telling someone that their perception of music is wrong and yours right because you've been listening to it for longer than they have isn't an argument, it's being an elitist jerk. How about you try reading your posts instead? In particular, read this one. If you really can't tell how badly you come across in that post then that's because you most likely missed out on a lot of things, arguments that occoured before you started reading this website, hence your inability to tell the difference. People would get a plastik bottle in the head for posting such a cheesy post like that in the '00s. But if you were there when it was all happening, you would understand. Peace out.
3. In case you still don't get it, the point is that telling someone that your opinions about music must be right because you've been around longer than he has makes you look rather silly.
4. I believe you. You like different things and that is fair enough. You grew up listening to different things or most likely missed out on a lot of things, music and parties that occoured before you started listening to this music, hence your inability to tell the difference. [...] but if you were there when it was all happening (outside of Greece mostly...as Greece was infested with the Reload/Nitzo parties), you would understand. Peace out. That's one possibility. Another possibility is that you grew up listening to a certain style of music and are consequently unable to separate the music itself from the emotions you experienced during a formative time of your life when that kind of thing was new, whereas a person who started listening psytrance more recently has no particular attachment to or association of happier times with any one style or period and can compare music objectively without his or her critical faculties being impaired by emotions. Still, don't feel too bad - it's not your fault that you're very, very old and probably looking at history through rose-tinted specs that are only made all the more potent by the advanced stages of senile dementia. Peace out. (Yes, I realise that my post is intensely patronising. There's a reason for that.)
5. This poll should let us choose multiple options. I like Saikosounds a lot, but often use Psyshop because even though I've heard horror stories about their customer service stuff tends to arrive from them a lot quicker than other places. I have used Goastore and Beatspace once each IIRC, and Wirikuta a few times. For listening to samples to decide what to buy I find Saikosounds and Goastore indispensable.
6. I agree with you about both points. But RTP is already aware of them, and I don't think he can do anything about them yet.
7. I listen to more darkpsy than Goa, but I'm pretty sure that puts me in the minority at least among regular psynews posters. I reckon you'll be hard-pressed to find a more Goa-oriented English language forum than this one. Are you aware that Amanita Design have another game coming soon? It'll be called Botanicula.
8. ^ That sounds totally awesome. I went to a party at a friend's flat, met some people I've not seen for years there. We also had a pretty good view of the fireworks over the London Eye, it was a spectacular display.
9. Let's try with the new-style editor: edit: I did that by using the "Image" button to post the image, then highlighting the image (by dragging the LMB over it - that made white squares appear around the edge of it) and then pressing the "Link" button to add a link to it. This made a blue stipple appear over the image, which I guess was the forum's way of telling me it had worked.
10. Before the update we did it like this: Let's see if it still works: edit: Yes, but clicking on it also opens a frame with the image for no damn reason.

Happy New Year!

What? No, I just meant to reiterate the sentiment in your OP.
12. Cool, the last VA from Digital Shiva Power was great.
13. Damn, I think I recognise that from a long time ago but can't think why. It's not Excalibur, is it?
14. I gave: a garden clock and this book for my Dad, some DVDs and books for my Mum, vase for my sister, trousers for my brother-in-law, a fairy dress for my niece (she preferred the bubble wrap it came in though), a dinosaur construction toy for my nephew and Deus Ex: Human Revolution for my flatmate. I was given, among other things: a pair of KRK headphones, a philosophy book and a Viz annual, some CDs, some DVDs (including Fantastic planet), some games (Portal 2, Arkham City, Psychonauts and an indie platformer bundle), a Radio Times subscription and a robot crab.
15. Taken from The Church Mice at Christmas, possibly the greatest book ever written by mankind.
