  1. Discogs doesn't allow hotlinking. ITYM: Also, here's a less shitty upload of the Forest Frequencies cover: There's definitely a strong correlation between quality of cover and quality of music in the psy scene, isn't there?
  2. Apparently the guy in the video with progeria is 24; sufferers typically die at around 13.
  3. Master Margherita - Hippies with Gadgets
  4. Now that we've had the vote for best album of 2009, how about best artwork? Here are my favourites:
  5. The context was "[I] strongly recommend that everybody buys said game". I mean that everybody should buy Batman: Arkham Asylum, because it's very good indeed.
  6. So he does. May I take this opportunity to strongly recommend that everybody buys said game?
  7. Sure, but if you're going to insult half the readers of this forum (who, I expect, don't much like being described as "sick, twisted people") then you should probably be prepared to back up your opinion with some actual facts.
  8. So what negative connotations are conveyed through the music or lyrics of, say, Kindzadza, Overdream, Alien Mental or The Nommos, for example? By the way, did you know that "St. Posford" once released a little-known album called The Lone Deranger, whose track titles include such things as Demention, Horrorgram, Gamma Goblins Part 2 and Deranger? Do you think that those titles may have negative connotations?
  9. Please explain how exactly, say, Kindzadza, or Overdream, or Alien Mental, or The Nommos are "evil tortured shit".
  10. Top 10 psytrance (in approximate order of preference): 1) Kindzadza - Waves from Outer Space (2004) 2) The Nommos - Primal Meltdown (2006) 3) Overdream - Wonderwise (2008) 4) Dark Nebula - The 8th Sphere (2003) 5) Kindzadza - Waves from Inner Space (2007) 6) VA - Vibraspirit 23 (2002) 7) Kraft - The Mysteries of the Sacred Universe (2009) 8) VA - Karmageddon (2005) 9) VA - Midnight's Shared Blossom (2008) 10) OOOD - Fourthought (2008) Top 10 downtempo (in approximate order of preference): 1) Androcell - Efflorescence (2006) 2) Orbit Constructions - Androneda (2008) 3) Khooman - Is a Flexible Liquid (2007) 4) Shpongle - Tales of the Inexpressible (2001) 5) VA - Raindrops in the Forest (2008) 6) VA - Oxycanta (2006) 7) Solar Fields - Leaving Home (2005) 8) Shpongle - Ineffable Mysteries from Shpongleland (2009) 9) VA - Conscious Dreams (2007) 10) Carbon Based Lifeforms - World of Sleepers (2006)
  11. Hey! I called dibs on posting that. Ten months ago.
  12. I think you can share it via P2P as long as you correctly attribute it and include the licence terms. See here.
  13. Not really on-topic for this thread, but if anybody is looking for something which is both proggy and psychedelic, may I take this opportunity to mention Elea - Stellar Connection again (my review)?
  14. One of the worst (if not the worst) films I've ever seen. DO NOT WATCH IT.
  15. I mentioned Insomnia and Avatar in the other thread, and I'll stick with those two as my faves. Maybe try... Celestial Dragon Ajana ?
  16. I don't think there's an answer to this. It depends on too many other factors. My eyelids. I tend to find that the best psytrance is that which I enjoy on the conscious level rather than the unconscious level, i.e. it gives me something to think about rather than just making me want to dance. I don't think I can narrow it down more than that, since a large part of what makes good psytrance psychedelic is the fact that it sounds unlike other psytrance.
  17. Any old slapper can throw on a thong. Having dreads takes dedication.
  18. No idea. I suggested a while back that the Best Of results for each year get pinned at the top of the corresponding review subforum. Seemed like a popular idea but Mars didn't respond, so I don't know whether he saw it. BTW, the way I found the 2007 results was by searching the forum for "Khooman" since I voted for him in the 2007 thread and he hasn't had much other discussion, and the 2007 thread was one of the first hits. So if you can think of any artists who aren't well known but released a good album in a given year then that's probably a good way to go about looking for a Best Of thread.
  19. There you go. I can't believe Waves from Inner Space only came 34th. Hang your head in shame, psynews.
  20. Why have I seen that video before? Why am I now seeing it again? I reckon she's hawt (but then I love dreadlocks).
  21. OT was closed for nothing.
