  1. Something else the OP might like: Mr Rogers - Ooze System.
  2. On impulse, I've just ordered this, this and this. Anybody know if they're any good?
  3. Huh? Lots of psytrance tracks have 12/8 sections, and I can think of at least one very famous bit of psytrance in 3/4.
  4. I don't think many people here would claim that all full-on is bad. Rather, the reason why people use the term in a derogatory fashion is that a large portion (some might say the majority) of real cack that gets released in the name of psytrance is full-on. I don't know much about the history, but I think this is largely due to the Israeli market - the fact that psytrance has gone mainstream there has inevitably led to a lot of artists making music which doesn't deserve to be called "psychedelic" or "trance" but which is marketed under the psytrance label simply because the artists were inspired to make it after listening to the worst bits of Infected Mushroom and GMS's back catalogues. See Baba System for a fairly accurate parody. Of course what qualifies as "real cack" is ultimately subjective, but the kind of people who hang around on psynews do have a lot in common when it comes to taste; there are people who love darkpsy and hate progressive, people who love goa and hate darkpsy and so on, but almost everyone here would agree that IM's The Gathering is good and Dali's Hectic is not.
  5. Sure - don't know when I'll find time to write a review (there are at least three other reviews I've been meaning to write for a while) but I'll at least let you know what I think in the "early comments" thread.
  6. It's been out for weeks. I'd like to read a proper review though.
  7. Oh, you mean linking to an individual post in psynews? At the top right of the post, just under the previous post's "reply" button, it says "Post #31" or something. Click on the number and you will be given a dialogue box with the url for the post in it.
  8. I had no idea that existed. Thanks for the heads up!
  9. You mean to a specific part of a wikipedia page? The "Contents" box at the top of a page contains links to all the different sections.
  10. So far in 2009 I've bought quite a few very good albums but no truly outstanding ones, though there are still a few things on my wishlist. Of what I've heard so far my favourites are probably the Atriohm vs. Encephalopaticys album and the Elea album.
  11. According to a very unreliable source I read, by US law the copyright will stay with Jackson's estate until 70 years after his death. On the other hand I've just found this, so I'm not sure what's going on. e: oh, I see.
  12. There is no appropriate time to admit to liking AAF.
  13. Is there a tracklist available?
  14. +1 Still, two and a half years is not that long. I'd rather they took their time and produced another masterpiece than rushed something out, the compilation tracks they produce between albums are never as good as their album tracks so I'm hoping they're taking their time to find a new sound and perfect it.
  15. Yes. This is your lucky day. As I said in the Acid Transmission thread, the two albums are very similar so if you don't like AT you probably won't like this. Though with hindsight I think MP3 is slightly better, just because there are no bad tracks at all.
  16. Like you even have to ask. KDD of course. Try listening to tracks 4-7 some more.
  17. Avatar has also given us the Overdream album. Not sure whether I've mentioned this already, but it's rather good.
  18. I'm glad someone other than me has got this. What do you think of it?
  19. Where are you people finding these?
  20. Pretty sure he meant the first one.
