This is not something that should be held against him (unlike his music).

I wouldn't say the cover affects how I hear the music, though it's nice when artists provide an image that goes well with the music (often I will just stare at the cover the first time I listen to a CD). It certainly makes a big difference to which new albums I check out on psyshop and saikosounds, though. Say what you like about not judging an album by its cover, but it's simply a fact that psytrance cover artwork gives a good impression of what kind of music lies within.

+1 Hey Mars, maybe you could implement an auto-banning mechanism and merge it with the flood control - every member is banned after each post, for a length of time dependent on the number of characters in his or her post, with 30 seconds being the minimum.

You don't have Treecreation? His was one of the best tracks on that IMO (link).

No, I find those by going to psyshop's coming soon section, mostly. Though occasionally I find them by going to label websites. Sorry, I'll try to do so from now on. BTW the last one I posted was the forthcoming Master Margherita album.

I just listen to new releases on Saikosounds. Though if people on psynews are raving about a release to which I didn't pay much attention first time round then I'll go back and have another listen.

The tree idea is a good one, and I think a good way to avoid over- or under-specifying would be to give each release multiple tags for each node of the tree below its individual subgenre. For example, all dark releases could be tagged with both "psytrance" and "dark", while forest trance releases could be tagged with "psytrance", "dark" and "forest".

I'd agree but, as Lemmi points out, there has to be some reason why he got to his position in the first place. Maybe you had to be there when his early stuff was released to appreciate it, I only got into his work in the late 90's and most of his back catalogue sounds like amateurish techno-wanking to me.

Very nice, but why not stick direct links to all the genres somewhere? It would be nice to be able to go straight to a genre without having to find a release with that tag first.
