  1. I've just noticed that Blümchen is the same age as me, and had already released nine albums by the time she retired the name Blümchen in 2001. God, do I ever feel like a failure.

  3. I recommend you get Lifeforms: Paths 1-7 if you want more of the same. There's also Amorphous Androgynous - Tales of Ephidrina, though it's not as good in my opinion. On the other hand, if you want something similar but less organic and more industrial then Dead Cities is very good.
  4. Shostakovich's first violin concerto is pretty psychedelic IMO. I'd skip the first movement though, it's depressing. e: a couple of movements: II IV e2: there's also .
  5. I don't think you realised how literally I was speaking when I wrote about "feeling" the music - Vibratoire consists mainly of a slow pulse which is almost too low to hear, but which shakes the whole room.
  6. I prefer speakers, since they can give me the feeling that the sound is filling the room, rather than just filling my ears, and this also enables me to "interact" more with the music. Though my opinion is probably skewed since I don't recall ever having used a decent pair of headphones, whereas my parents have some pretty sweet speakers. But there are some pieces of music that need to be played through one or the other. For example, Biosphere's Vibratoire is designed to be felt rather than heard, and is therefore utterly pointless through headphones. On the other hand, Autechre's Tewe contains noises which are pretty much indiscernible through speakers.
  7. Can anybody tell me anything at all about Bent Sentient?
  8. I really like the typeface on this one: This is lovely too:
  9. Deadline coming soon. I'm going to have to revise my order in light of the Overdream album. Need to have a think.
  10. Biosphere - Autour de la Lune is the most soporific album I know.
  11. Egad. I was thinking of Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
  12. Goldie - Mother (60:19) The first and last 20 minutes are dull, but the bit in the middle is just fantastic.
  13. Allow me to take this opportunity to say "Hello, Daybrain!" before you get banned again.
  14. With a name like "NPD sound crew" it's no wonder they felt the need to stick a photo of themselves on the cover.
  15. +1 Also, I've only had it for a week, but I reckon you should give Overdream - Wonderwise a try. Tracks mostly start out sounding like darkpsy, but then later they have a lot of really nice melodic bits too. There's nothing really groundbreaking but they have too wide a range of influences to fit into any particular sub-genre IMO.
  16. I don't know the CDs you mention, but I recently got Scientist's album Scientist rids the world of the curse of the evil vampires, and it's pretty good (I became aware of his work through the radio station on GTA3). A couple of tracks: Your teeth in my neck The corpse rises
  17. Of the Posford albums I actually know... 1: Are you Shpongled? 2: Tales of the Inexpressible 3: The Lone Deranger 4: Nothing Lasts... but Nothing is Lost 5: Twisted
  18. It may just be the effects of mild intoxication, but I've just given this a first listen and I'm really surprised by how good it is.
  19. I stand corrected. I guess CDs here aren't as expensive as they used to be (it's been ages since I bought one from a British shop anyway).
