  1. Here. It also says that it is expected on October the 30th.
  2. By happy coincidence I received Naked Tourist's Mad Different Methods in the post a few days ago. I can understand why they chose to stick the extra track at the end, it's good but has a very different style to the rest of the album, and I imagine it would really damage the flow of the album otherwise. BTW, I wouldn't really call tracks which play after n minutes silence "hidden" - the real way to hide a track is to stick it in the space before the first track of the album begins, like the hidden track on Ae's EP7. It was a nice surprise discovering that after I'd already had the CD for a couple of years (though actually getting at it wasn't easy, I had to use EAC in the end).
  3. I notice that my post count hasn't dropped since Off Topic disappeared, and threads in the Spiritual and Tech subforums can still be accessed via my profile. If the Off Topic threads haven't been deleted completely, is there any chance of setting them visible (as the Freestyle subforum used to be)?
  4. Also nothing like Schnauss, but really good melodic downtempo nonetheless: Khooman - Is a flexible liquid
  5. Anybody heard V/A - The Forbidden Path (Helicon Sound System)?
  6. There have been some good uptempo releases this year but so far nothing has stood out for me quite as much as KDD's or Alien Mental's albums from last year, or The Nommos' from the previous year. Of what I've heard so far Multiple Personalities 3 is my favourite. On the other hand it seems to have been an outstanding year for downtempo psy releases. I have real difficulty choosing between the Orbit Constructions album, the Distant System album and Raindrops in the Forest.
  7. Oops, hit the "reply" button instead of the "edit" button. I spend a few weeks away from this place and I turn into some kind of forum retard.
  8. It's not downtempo, but Alien Mental's Into Unity has the best fadeout I've heard. For closing tracks generally they really don't get any better than Shpongle's ...And The Day Turned To Night. e: wait, I've got another one: Total's Mr. Fingers. How could I forget that.
  9. I might offer to tally the votes next year - my PhD finishes at the end of this year, and I am intending on spending a few months taking it easy, so I should have plenty of time. I don't have a spreadsheet though, but I think my housemate does.
  10. It goes without saying that both solo Kindzadza albums are awesome. +1 to whoever said Primal Meltdown (read my review here) and I also really like Alien Mental's Mind Hack. If you're after something from 2008 you could do a lot worse than Multiple Personalities 3 (read my review here). Regarding Furious - I've tried to love Uncanny Beats, really I have, but I just can't. Don't get me wrong, I like it, but I just don't see what everyone else thinks is so great about this album. Maybe I need to listen to it on drugs or something...
  11. Any chance of an explanation why Off Topic is being closed? Seems like a reasonable enough request.
  12. http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/pho/pho1cd243.html
  13. Insomnia records are IMO just about the best label around at the moment. But damn, this cover is horrible.
  14. V/A - Kokopelli (Conscious Dreams) After a few listens I really like this.
  15. In addition to what's been said already, I recommend Alien Mental - Mind Hack.
  16. Personally, if you're after IDM rather than ambient, I don't think it gets any better than Chiastic Slide, Chichlisuite, EP7, Gantz Graf and Untilted.
  17. That's actually one of my least favourite of their albums. But then I don't think much of Drukqs at all.
  18. AUTECHRE AUTECHRE AUTECHRE AUTECHRE AUTECHRE AUTECHRE
  19. I like it except for the percussion, which seems to keep getting louder and quieter.
  20. I think my favourite recent cover is this one: It's by someone called Anna Ignatieva. Don't know if she's done any other psy covers.
  21. Quasga's covers are always good. I don't know who does Glowing Flame's covers, but they have a consistently high standard as well.
