  1. Exactly. Even if you don't think you're going to sell more than 500 copies of a CD it does no harm to leave open your options of printing more if there is enough demand, or at the very least of putting it up for download somewhere - I don't know how much that costs to do but I can't imagine it costs much.
  2. Exactly. It appeals to people's love of pointless elitism, not to people's love of music. My Dad asked me to buy him a copy of Extended when he heard me play it, but I can't. It's a shame.
  3. IMO they shouldn't make limited editions in the first place - it's a really daft concept.
  4. A while ago I emailed Ultimae asking whether there were any plans to reprint Solar Fields' Leaving Home, and received this reply: :posford:
  5. I'm afraid I do. I could've sworn that this had come up in conversation before, but oh well.
  6. Huh? No and no respectively. Christian, scientist, but not a CS.
  7. Is that taken from here (start at 4:34)? Damn, I always thought that would make a good trance sample. e: Yes it is, and it seems that psydb is unaware of this. I will let them know.
  8. Thanks! As far as I can tell, nobody here except me has given this much attention (present company excluded). A shame, if so - this CD really deserves to be heard by a lot of people.
  9. Would you dismiss Handel's Messiah as propaganda? How about traditional Sufi music? If you answered "yes", that's your loss.
  10. Have you heard their old stuff, e.g. The Gathering and Classical Mushroom? If not you really should. A couple of tracks in shitty quality on YouTube: ,
  11. Nice to know I'm not the only one here. I for one like it that way. If I want a message I'll read the news, I listen to music because I want to hear something that sounds good. One thing I like about psytrance is that the samples used tend to be politically and religiously neutral, appealing instead to common spiritual values or just hedonism. That makes it feel more inclusive. There are a few darkpsy artists who like to fill their music with angry politics or horror samples, which I think is a shame - sure as heck isn't the kind of thing I want to hear at a party. They're in the minority though.
  12. Nice. What track is being played in this video?
  13. Right - everyone knows that psytrance and wacky belief systems don't mix.
  14. Not exactly a Christian sample, but Infected Mushroom - The Shen would probably work. And it's a great tune to boot. e: Trold - Tail of Huldra also has a nice God-bothering sample.
  15. I really love V/A - Raindrops in the Forest (read my review here). CD2 of V/A - Healing Ananda also has some great tracks on it. Needless to say, the Distant System album is great too.
  16. Don't pay any attention to the obvious attempts at trolling from "Chillmood". Pretty much everyone here loves your album, it's awesome.
  17. +1. I don't usually go for this kind of mid-tempo stuff, but I can't help but love this album.
  18. What makes you think I usually listen to chill? Actually I listen to darkpsy more than anything else.

    Asura - LifeĀ²

This is really good. I couldn't decide whether I wanted to buy a copy for ages, but now that I have I'm very glad I did. If you haven't got a copy already, get one while you still can (do Ultimae ever reprint stuff?).
