  1. Are you quite sure about this? I know that it isn't libel if what you say is an obvious parody that nobody is likely to take seriously (as with your example above), but I would be very surprised if you could say anything about a public face.
  2. I am currently listening to "Nothing lasts..." by Shpongle. The woman who sings on it sounds hot, does anybody know what she looks like?
  3. Is it not libel rather than slander when written on a forum?
  4. I think it's worth adding that at some point (in the 60's I think[1]) they had a bright idea as to how to include stereo sound in records: one track is encoded in the displacement of the groove parallel to the record, the other in the displacement perpendicular. This meant that old record players could still read one track of stereo records (the parallel one), though given that bands back then went a bit overboard with stereo (a few Beatles' songs have all the vocals right over to one side, for example) that must have been slim consolation. [1] edit: nope. 1958. edit no. 2: It seems I was talking a fair bit of crap above. In fact the stereo records were such that a mono player would output the combined left and right channels. See here.
  5. I really like the Sonik Scizzor track at the end of the new Goa Gil album, which is 170 BPM.
  6. As well as listening to the obligatory classical and 60s/70s rock music, I have recently started to enjoy folk music. A couple of good bands are La Bottine Souriante and Steeleye Span.
  7. Sounds more like Reznik's kind of woman.
  8. The Nommos - Primal Meltdown (read my review here). Track 7 matches your description pretty darn well.
  9. I PM'ed him in February and he said it would probably be out late spring. Hmm... Are you reading, Goran? Any news?
  10. My parents don't like the kind of amelodic darkpsy I mostly listen to; my Dad is pretty open minded and will listen to it but I don't think he enjoys it, while my Mum just thinks it's "boom boom boom" music. They both enjoy psy-chill like Shpongle and Androcell though. I even bought my Dad "tales of the inexpressible" for Christmas a few years back, and I think he likes it.
  11. I think the name has been changed, at least "when the somberness becomes a game" is the album title according to Talpa's myspace page. Does anyone have any idea when this album will be out?
  12. Not quite sure if they are what you are looking for, but Trold and Braincell are both very good foresty melodic artists.
  13. I got a flyer for this yesterday and it sounds pretty damn sweet. Is anyone here thinking of going?
  14. I don't understand what it is that so many of you have against darkpsy. It's great!
  15. Well this is only my first listen; I'm now on the last track except for the outro, and it has sounded pretty damn good to me, although I tend to find I need at least a couple of weeks to make my mind up about a CD. Ask me in a fortnight.
  16. Looking forward to this one a lot. The set he played in London in March was great.
  17. I voted "at least I don't hate any of it". I considered voting progressive, but I don't hate it, I just find it pretty boring. Most fullon is absolute shit but there are a few really good acts IMO.
  18. Sounds a bit like Human League on a budget
