  1. Have you heard the original? It's great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKwK-ZhTurg
  2. I work for a company that does plenty of real work, and we use both Linux and Windows. Both have their strengths.
  3. Since we don't have a rule against withdrawing a track after the deadline, rules weren't broken. Also I don't see what would be the point of having such a rule - how would we enforce it? We can't stop someone from removing their track from SC, and we can't make them give us a file and release it against their will if they win.
  4. I feel like many of the tracks progress in a coherent way that's lacking from a lot of forest psy (which often comes across as a sequence of unconnected noises). Also I think the relative sparseness works to its advantage, the fact that they're not throwing every single sound into every single track makes the individual tracks more distinct and memorable.

  6. I actually thought of both of these before your post, but I couldn't find a decent upload of either.
  7. I know it's cheesy as hell but I really love this cover. I think it's partly down to the fact that the use of primary and secondary colours and the general visual clusterfuckness of it are reminiscent of BBC Micro games:
  8. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMPUze0MN2M Autechre recently released 9 soundboard recordings from their current tour. It's pretty much the best thing ever.
  9. I say post it in 2015. If others disagree it can easily be moved.
  10. No, it's supposed to do that. the last two tracks received the same number of votes.
  11. Thanks for the feedback. If I can face putting any more work in I may try mixing it on the monitors I got for Christmas (it was mainly produced with headphones). It's just a sine wave with a large attack and long release, with a sinusoidally detuned frequency. It was all synthesized and sequenced with my own software. It's not compatible with anything, I'm afraid.
  12. The results of the contest are in. Thanks to everyone who voted and especially everyone who submitted a track; the quality was consistently high (in fact every single track received at least one vote). 13. Thanks for the heads up, I'll take it into account when counting.
  14. Votes: 1: Dragon Twins - Foster 2: The Illuminator - Flashbacks 3: Neuromatic - Stoners In The Woods 4: Spiral Minded - Swampy Séance 5: Recursion Loop - The Riddle Of Three Turtles 6: De'SySko - What Is Life, Where Am I Going 7: dSk - Biosphere (Psybient-Soundtrack mix) 8: Galactic Hologram - Scorpion Attack (Original Mix) 9: Cardiac Arrest - There is no try, just do! 10: Phenomenon - Distant Horizons (Subject to change over the next few hours.)
  15. Sorry, I didn't mean to give the impression that it looks like a specific 90's flier graphic - I've no idea whether it's original or not.
  16. Thanks. I tagged it that way because it started out as an attempt at Goa before evolving in a different direction. That's kind of intentional, I really enjoy harsh, "mood whiplash"-inducing segues when I hear them in DJ mixes so I tried to incorporate them into the track. I can see how some (most?) people might find it annoying though. Thanks.
  17. It looks like a lame graphic from a 90's flier, poorly centred (why is the left-hand edge cut off?), the deep dream seems like a lazy attempt to modernise it that already looks dated, and to top it all off the artist logo isn't even antialiased.
