I basically agree with all here. The synths do sound nice. I think you hit your target for the old school sound, you did well there. The melody is nice as well, but there is not enough variation. It sounds like one loop, repeated over and over for 9 minutes. There is no beginning, middle, or end really. It needs a break or two, some build up and release. It does not take us on any journey like Simon can do. Drums need more attention. It's a good start though, but a lot of work left on it.
