  1. Well, 2 bands I can very much recommend are Ozric Tentacles and Hidria Spacefolk. And since you mentioned Pink Floyd, check out Banco de Gaia's fantastic version of Echoes
  2. Paul Eye

    Oforia

Maybe not exactly "like this", but take a listen to PortaMento, Dragon Twins, Morphic Resonance, Amygdala, Ufomatka, Proxeeus (aka "guy with a 303 problem"), maybe Lapsus too but he hasn't released much. Maybe someone else has more suggestions?
  3. Backed the project without question. Waiting for my CD to arrive
  4. I enjoyed it up until episode 9. Then it suddenly turned into a cringeworthy cheesefest

    Oforia

This is again one of those topics that: 1. Reminds me that I still should get (at least) the 2 first Oforia albums... 2. Makes me wonder again why so few artists these days attempt to create something similar th the artists/albums mentioned. Is it that nowadays the moment you try to turn your music in a (for the lack of a better description) nastier direction it all turns to darkpsy or twilight fullon or something. Maybe some day when my inspiration returns I'll get to it The Lone Deranger has been a long time favourite of mine and was nothing short of love at first sight (or rather, "first listen"). Project Genesis had the same effect but I only bought it a few years ago. Pigs In Space I also only bought a few years ago and it still needs to grow on me (actually I'm going to listen to it right now).
  6. Or naming your album "Psychedelic Trance" *cough*talamasca*cough*
  7. I'd say it has a more traditional Finnish feel to it, at least the main melody
  8. Most probably can't afford to go abroad this summer so Kosmos Festival here in Finland will be my only one.
  9. Well, I still don't buy the claim that original CDs/CDJs sound better than CD rips (especially lossless like FLAC). But this is a technical matter rather than an artistic one that this topic was all about And again, I doubt anyone in the audience would notice the difference, if any And the audience is who we do this for anyway (and of course ourselves too).
  10. Well, in that case I can count myself among the people who actually do bring proper sounding gear on stage But still, this smells a bit like elitism to me, since eventually most people in the audience don't give a shit about how you play, but what you play. The only complaints about what equipment you use to play seems to come from the artists/DJs. No one's ever come up to me and said "well that was a fucking great set you played but you really should use CDJs instead of your laptop setup because otherwise you're a fake"
  11. And just exactly what do you mean by this?
  12. Listened the Goa/Psy playlist through. Certainly has that good ol' tracker charm And I recognized some samples and sounds here and there. What did you use for "Art of Magic" if not ProTracker?
  13. For some people it works. For me, it doesn't. Trust me, I've tried
  14. Yeah, it's a bit weird how it's called a "remix". The only thing that's even remotely related to the original is the monkey sample. It could very well be a completely different track.
  15. Well, actually I don't have a solution at the moment Which tracks? (sorry for going off topic...)
  16. If I may plug myself a bit, flashback to 2003 https://soundcloud.com/pauleye/daikaisho And uh...I realized that I hadn't updated the track to the final mastered version in almost 3 years. Fixed today.
