  1. I'm still not really sure, actually. I made what became my last track with Impulse Tracker in 1999 (and actually a track in "my old style" in 2000) and then all inspiration just stopped. The abovementioned track was made in 2002/2003 and it's kind of a small miracle and I still don't really know how we pulled it off After that I've just been tinkering with dozens upon dozens of unfinished track snippets and weird sound design experiments, but even that has declined in recent years. And if I ever get my inspiration running again, I definitely don't want to sound like anyone else. That's also a challenge in itself
  2. Hahaha I didn't notice the laptop screen until now :DDDD I can't find him (((
  3. Not really sure if this counts (more like, proto-goa classic?)
  4. Heh, when I still had at least some kinda drive to fuck around with music making, I made sure that practically all automation was recorded off the knobs on my keyboard in realtime. The only proof to the rest of the world is this: https://soundcloud.com/pauleye/daikaisho where (almost) EVERYTHING that changes in some way is recorded as live automation, in what must be dozens of passes as there's a shitload of stuff going on all the time and I only have 2 hands (yes we were 2 guys doing the track but I'm in Helsinki and he was in Paris, and over all I ended up doing most of the automation because I insisted). Impulse Tracker FTW! Anyway, going off topic again...
  5. What do you mean exactly?
  6. For what it's worth, my setup. Not that I've actually made any music in years Features everything but my Novation 49SL MkII that kinda sits there waiting for my inspiration to return... There's a broken Korg Monotron Delay and Aavepyörä's old GP2X he used to write the 'Tie ja vaeltaja' album on the table below the left speaker
  7. Yeah but the title still says "from Padmasana by Padmasana". And there still is no album or comp named "Zen Dub".
  8. Does this mean you're still doing some music? :OOOO How's the Axiom49? I had one but ended up selling it as I hated the knobs on it. Edit: I actually had to head over to VSE to recall what that gray Korg you have there is (Prophecy)
  9. There's no Makyo album named Zen Dub, and there's not even a compilation called Zen Dub that features Makyo (or even anything that at least Discogs finds that would be titled Zen Dub).
  10. Well, to be pedantic, that's not Makyo. It's Padmasana
  11. To be honest, I didn't really like his album. Can't decide if it's darkpsy with goa melodies or goa trance with darkpsy basslines. Anyway, I have it for sale on Discogs But his tracks on this comp are far better
  12. Looks a bit like an old prog rock album cover or something But yeah, I like covers that don't scream OMG GOA PSY TRANCE OMG OMG in your face. There really aren't too many of those around in the first place.
  13. Take this from a guy who's primarily into goa trance, this is some very nice progressive: Algae Bloom - The Blossom <- this album is unbelievably fantastic, even a few diehard darkpsy guys loved it Stereofeld - Frequenzwechsel
  14. I hope the collab with ECT will have much tasty psybreaks in it
  15. I just listened to that album yesterday
  16. PC. Haven't had a console since my Super Nintendo over 20 years ago
  17. Happy psy with no cheese
  18. You should try Pete Martin (Slide) next And yay for Colin doing the mastering again.
  19. IIRC I got to level 90 or so on my first, about 100 on my second. After that it's been just testing to get a good mod setup (trying to stay at around 100 useful ones). Now it's uninstalled and on hold until it tempts me to come back again And oh, reinstalled Steam again some time ago as The Talos Principle was still unfinished. Now I've got all three endings and it's just about as finished as it can be. The Road To Gehenna DLC is next but what little I tried of it so far has been much trickier than the main game.
  20. Oh fuck, Rise Of The Tomb Raider is coming to PC at the end of the month. 50€ is still too much for a game, but... but...
  21. Mark Neal & Buggy G. Riphead, need I say more?
  22. Well, Nervasystem4 isn't particularly melodic either but I still like it a lot
