I've got the last two, but only Biologic by Tron. (Which is still pretty decent.) -

I'd agree. Chemisphere was o.k. but for me, it strayed too far into Israeli Full-on cheese territory, with the rock guitars etc. The new album I much prefer. -
CD came today! Just played it through for the first time & I'm well-impressed. The essence of the old tunes is plainly there, but given a new lease of life and still very much in the Goa Spirit. Big thumbs up from me!

Ordered!

Never heard of Pharmacy music. I first came across Christopher Lawrence on Hook Records back in the 90s. They did a good line in techy trance. I'll have to check some of the Pharmacy releases.

I can understand the reasoning behind the original post, but it doesn't take into account the review section - which is the best on the net I've come across. There certainly seems to be a die-hard Goa element in the discussions on here I've noticed, (a lot of who don't even like nu-Goa,) that instantly jump on anything that has little or no melody. I know that's not the whole story, but can see how it might look to newcomers. This is pretty unique, as there's a much reduced interest in Goa Trance on other Psy forums I use. Psytrance is far from dying, but some people have a hard time accepting some of the new directions it's taking.

TRISTAN - WAY OF LIFE (OUT NOW on NANO RECORDS)

Well, I bought this on CD and like it a lot. O.K. it's not Goa Trance, but it doesn't pretend to be. I think as banging, day time, psytrance goes, this hits the spot. -
DJ Anoebis (head honcho at Suntrip ) was on second. His set was fantastic - but then they all were... 10.00-11.30pm Jim Appleton 11.30pm-12.45am Anoebis 12.45am-2.00am Nebula Meltdown Live!... 2.00-3.30am Shakta Live! 3.30-5.00am Dimension 5 5.00-6.00am Shakti

Yeah, I love it.

Me too. It was a bit special!

Yes! Just bought it from the Suntrip shop. It's pretty wonderful!

Kindzadza new album preview

Sounds amazing! Can't wait to get my hands on this release. -
It happens, I'm afraid. Module Virus and Hutti Heita albums pushed back too.

Have to agree with that. Certainly Tristan's move from Twisted to Nano lost him his unique sound and lumped him in with all the other full-on merchants. Avalon's output I like much less since his Nano signing. The only Nano album to really buck the trend recently is Loud's No More X and I think that is a great album!

A bit harsh, I think. The album certainly is derivative and breaks no new ground. Could also do with a bit of a boost to the bottom end, but it's one of the better full-on albums I've bought recently.

Another Opus lover here. The sound system at Bearded Theory Festival's Magical Sounds tent is probably the best I've heard. Never harsh, but plenty loud. Function 1 also good, but can be a bit wearing on the ears. (I guess it depends on the skills of the sound engineer to get it spot-on.)

I think there's plenty of variety in psytrance to keep me interested. I listen to it all the time! I think you're spoiled for choice now tbh, back in the 90s there was really only Goa, but these days there are enough sub-genres I enjoy to stop me getting bored of psy. New developments are slow coming through maybe, but you could say that for most types of music. If it's decent and works, why would you want to radically change a genre? Trends come and go - super fast hi-tech is on the rise for sure, certainly in the UK, (some of which I like,) dubstep breaks as already mentioned too (which I'm not fond of at all!) I'm open to most styles. My least favourite (and least CDs bought!) would be Iboga / Iono type prog (which I find pretty boring and uninvolving), Israeli style full-on (too many commercial dance music tricks employed for my liking,) and a lot of Nitzho (again, too cheesy for me and the middle-eastern melodies do my head in! ) but there is still music I like from there sub-genres, also. Goa (new & old), Twilight, Forest, Night-time / Dark, Hi-tech, Zenonesque prog - all good.

It was a fantastic night, the music was spot-on. I'd almost forgotten how good proper Goa Trance is to dance to. I love (some) other styles of psytrance too, but this party was like a breath of fresh air - took me back to my Spacehopper days! Great to meet Shpongled247, Joske & Paul Eye and nice to see PsycheDanic up from London. Shakti & the rest of the Trancendance crew have been championing the Goa sound in the UK for a while, so it's awesome to have Suntrip on board too! Hope there's scope for future collaborations.

A fantastic album! Even better after having seen Shakta play at the Trancendance / 10 Years of Suntrip Records party in Nottingham at the weekend! -

Not had an e-mail from Suntrip (only Paypal). Just looked at my account and it still says "to be paid" - I've downloaded the receipt though, so assume all is o.k. ?
