-
cheesy debut from a talented fondue fan - you might like his albums RL every psycheezer should know Chromosome another nice debut is Liquid Space - Center of Soul, feelgood trance for uplifting moments another one from the debut - a slimy hyperhymn to melodic psy a cheese monster for sure also this

wow - now this is a sad thread... time to add few releases... Hedflux - Soul Science this came as a nice surprise. i enjoyed his psychedelic tech-funk sounds, although it became a lil bit samey through time. here he explores classic electronica and downtempo moods, and while nothing here stands out as a pioneer the whole gives good chills, thanks to its gentle techy atmosphere and beat variation Kaminanda - The Infinite Breath this guy is outstanding. his soundimagery and storytelling is unmatched in my opinion. i know of no bad track and this is no exception. although i have to say that his earlier releases had more hook for me. if you never paid attention, give this a shot, you might be surprised

The psytrance scene and why the digital format is so expensive
Blubber replied to Void Mantra's topic in General Psytrance
sure, you're free to complain as much as u want but you could also look the other way - if the margins from digital sales are supposed to be higher your direct support to artists and labels is higher, right? not to mention that selling a cd (high costs, low profit) is way more unprofitable than to sell digital files (lower costs, better profit) not to mention the unhuman pressure to produce fancy-looking plastics -
Hi Jon, nice that u gave it a try! Just for correction: Idir is the fourth track on the album, so the tempos slowly increase from track to track. I think on Youtube they put it on no.1 for having a better reference for the whole album. i doubt that this is true. if even wanted. people go crazy on hitech. why should the artist feed some goa mouths?
-
sooo, if u wanna start this game again, feel free to post your assumptions and continue in this thread ...otherwise... -- GAME OVER --
-
allright, i give up.... believe me, i really tried to listen to Aegolius, of course i couldn't finish listening once a week in a month or so, like my own gaming rules told me... but i tried, multiple times.. it's not that i didn't liked it, or even hated it, but this forest music just simply didn't click with me... i found it uninspired, nothing grabbed my attention, i fell asleep, i listened to it but couldn't remember anything... in the end, i decided to write no review... better leave it, and make no lazy assumptions, it's better for the artist, no?

The psytrance scene and why the digital format is so expensive
Blubber replied to Void Mantra's topic in General Psytrance
i thought that prices for music are so low like never before not to mention that alot of it is for free or to donate for peoples and problems... -
i really like the idea of a poll included in the review section, even if it's sometimes only few votes, it gives an additional perspective and option for lazy writers. that said it's a pity that a lot of the most discussed releases 2016 have no poll. i would support a lil bit more engagement from the topic starters or reviewing guidelines
-
how can i make the votes in a poll visible?

Did you get an General Psytrance present for X-mas this year? (2016)
Blubber replied to psytones's topic in General Psytrance
a few months ago i offered a good ol friend of mine to pass me his vinyls. he stopped the vinyl-thing and i would be happy to take care and play some of them. xmas the 26th we met for a rarely party session and he brought his vinyl box. now i can spin some Shpongle's Tales LP and DMT 12" in my room :D Thanks Ralph!!! Hey Psytones, it would be too sad if your goodies only get dusted, give them some proper air and needle treatment from time to time -
i meant to refer to the overall sound quality and production techniques. of course, you might find some sound manipulations here harsh or even brutal. i consider them meaningful be easy PaulEye, some of us here are outsiders because they don't praise neogoa, let em their anger and thanks Starky!

1. Zooming out (78 Bpm) 2. The infinite moment (96 Bpm) 3. Bent circuit (112 Bpm) 4. Winged Thoughtforms (120 Bpm) 5. Freak Wincies (128 Bpm) 6. Extreme Groovitude (132 Bpm) 7. Cloudbusters (134 Bpm) 8. ...aaand it's gone (136 Bpm) If you are familiar with the Flooting Grooves you know what's going on here. Pearce van der Merwe is no simple yeasayer. He likes experiments and confrontation with other artists. He is a groove afficionado and percussion lover. A flute and guitar player, and i think a multi instrumentalist in general. This of course means nothing. But it is a good basement. And something that works out very well here. The album starts of gentle, stoned beats with organic instrumentation, guest musicians on guitars, percussions and vocals. Constantly evolving themes, evoking beach chillout and spliff. It is getting slowly faster, transforming into progressive territory, giving the whole uplifting touchés but always sprinkled with Flooting Flutes and Groovian Relaxism. The second half is not as remarkable as the first, but all the tracks have room to groove and breathe. They won't hurry, neither make you fall asleep. They offer natural excitement and psychedelic easyness. I see the shpongle-copy-paste accusations but to me these are narrow-minded anti-musical nerd statements anyway. For me, this is sublime chillout music! I haven't listened to FG's previous output (only few tracks here and there) so i'm never qualified in commenting the artist's musical career and i am curious to know what other people think in comparison to the earlier albums, but honestly i'm pretty sure that it never will have any impact on my own perception of this album as a great companion in my life. Music is always experience in time. If something hits a spot, it maybe back you for a long time. Blue Hour Sounds Beatspace Psyshop Soundcloud

1. Realms of Unseen (142 Bpm) 2. Spiritual Warfare (148 Bpm) 3. raMa (155 Bpm) 4. Idir (160 Bpm) 5. Quantum Entanglement (165 Bpm) 6. Electric Universe (190 Bpm) 7. Saturn-Moon-Matrix (195 Bpm) 8. Hyperspace (195 Bpm) 9. Cern (201 Bpm) You want the psytrance to be powerful and sophisticated, mystic but noncheesy, surprising and unpredictable, storytelling yet epic, fast, aggressive and dark but at the same time positive and enchanting, full of complex rhythms, percussive elements, twists and turns, uplifting keychanges and delicious sampleria, served in a sci-fi context, with experimental soundimagery transformed into euphoric trance and frenzy hi-tech structures, charming melodies and tribal undertones, acid, breaks and steady beats.. all designed into a beauty digipack.. Well, all this one might find here!! Believe me, normally i don't like the faster stuff but this is so extremely entrancing that i simply forget the tempos and just listen to the enigmatic story Dark Whisper has to tell. Nothing sounds random, out-of-place or harsh. No bullshit or meaningless humtata. This album has a vision, and if you like your trance album be a fulfilled listening experience give this a try. I think all fans of fast psychedelic music will love this, it's perfect for homelistening and must be simply stunning on dancefloors. Any negatives? Sometimes criticising is only bitching. Sometimes you must appreciate something as what it is. And this is exceptionally storytelling cyberpsy - eat it or leave it. I love it! @ all those sissies who can't stand fast psy: i want to encourage you to give this a go nontheless, the first half of the album is (like the rest of course) unbelievably amazing and contains some strong tracks for all your psychedelic nighttime sessions. the rest of you space cowboys - have fun !!! i've seen Mob City weeks ago, a gangster crime series about LA's 1940s. typical dramaplot but great gangster-noir-atmosphere and brilliant songs. and as a big plus: only 6 episodes. thank god not every single series must go on forever

a big coffee lover here, a few cups and/or espressos a day i brew them conventionally, drink mostly black coffes, sometimes with or without... depends for the flavours: no starbucks, instead a zip of coffee cream or hazelnut liquor - a good start into weekends the secret of the vanilla iced coffee: put as much icecream as possible into your coffee
