  1. Because they are a smaller selling business than a retailer like Psyshop that sells far more different records, they may have more costs per record to cover, but I'm not sure this would explain all of the price. This is just speculation and I'm not trying to defend them. If they are indeed selling them at a higher price than they "should", Now, this DUDE is not worked up, this dude has had enough of ripoffs in his life. When I started buying 12"s I payed around 7 euros for them, and today, EVENTHOUGH pressing costs less, you pay 10 euros in some shops? I am asking myself, just WHAT is it, that has become more expensive? Just to clarify, I wasn't against your initial idea. I think it's a good one. Good luck with your endeavour. I wholeheartedly support it.
  2. I strongly believe that the greatest reason is the strong pressure to conformity, sound like others so that DJs play them and people listen & buy them. Sadly even heavyweights like AP and Pleaidians don't dare to take a risk.
  3. A track doesn't have to make you shit in your pants to be dark. MOS' Drive is a good example of lighter dark trance. My top three: 1) MOS - Drive & The Delta - Scizoeffective 2) MFG - Project Genesis
  4. Send In... Send Back is more techno, IMO too techno (in the sense of repetitiveness) at times and the tracks often have fewer layers. I find Scizoeffective better.
  5. The most important reason to buy is your moral obligation to pay for the artist's work. Buy as many (or few) as you can.
  6. No need to get worked up dude. I mostly buy my CDs at Psyshop and pay 12-14 euros per disc (including postage to Finland). Considering that a CD costs 22 euros in Finland, that's a good price. I'm not swimming in money, and 28 euros a month on two CDs doesn't break most budgets. Even if you didn't want to pay the middlemen (labels, distributors, retailers...), buying nothing will result in the artist getting no compensation for their hard & passionate work. And FYI I think Beatport's prices are way too high for downloads.
  7. Japanese promo texts are my favourite.
  8. It sounds good enough for me. In what quality will the final net release be? 320 kbps? Wav? The live vid was cool too. The drummer was great. If he's your regular gig companion, then you are very fortunate.
  9. Excuse me? CDs aren't that expensive. It's a nobrainer to trim your other spending for a disc or a few a month. Sorry this is OT, but I cracked up when I saw your nick PsychedelicVegetable and the Clockwork Orange avatar. Almost spit breakfast porridge from my mouth. Hilarious!
  10. Funnily enough, I was just listening to the samples of this new VA at Psyshop which is very much like the early 00's minimal: http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/ewo/ewo1cd001.html
  11. IMO he looks a bit grumpy. Anyway, total killaargh:
  12. "international shipping _without_ jewel cases"? Erm?
  13. It's an absolutely amazing track. The G+ guys are masters of atmosphere. I hope the forthcoming Delta album will be something similar.
  14. Uh oh, ReBirth's potential is seriously limited. Buzz is far more versatile.
  15. Your friend's is the right interpretation. In that scene they had had an argument and the other guy which was greatly under the influence of substances had threatened Depp's character with a knife.
  16. Did you download a pirated ticket for the Talamasca gig?
  17. Amazing album. 602277[/snapback] Indeed. One of the most exquisite I've ever heard. Today's (or rather last Friday's) purchases: Hallucinogen - Twisted Hall. - The Lone Deranger Shpongle - Tales of the Inexpressible Holy cow he is talented. And also Juno Reactor - Bible of Dreams JR - Labyrinth JR - Shango
  18. Is the next comp already in the works? Care to shed any light on it? I hope it'll be as eclectic and good as Apsara.
  19. The lady on the cover has too big breasts. I'm not buying the record.
  20. Why do they have bands' own lyrics there listed as samples? For example X-Dream wrote (and sung) themselves most if not all on We Interface.
  21. Lift a sample from some B class horror movie?
