it would be more convenient to use a peak controller to automate the cutoff freq.....u can use an audiotrack or a midi track for automation.. -
FLstudio vs. Cubase
chans replied to CosmicEquilibrium's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
all of them have their advantages n disadvantages...n fl has been killin it with every new version that releases...i admit fl4 was shitty but fruity 5 was a major breakthrough...n then 6 was even killa...the fl7 beta version is already out i suppose...n i'm jus waitin 4 fruity 7 2 release now for the comparison if some1 makes u hear a track, there's obviously no way that u're gonna be able to say whether its made on fl or cubase unless u use the presets n sample that come along with the s/w...nobody gives a f**k about what sequencer u use as long u're producin some neat stuff 4 cpu problems,...well a good configuration is the most important for your pc/laptop if u use a good processer n a good soundcard, there's no real time issues either -
thanks again mate

vb1, albino vanguard. z3ta+, audiorealism bassline, muon tau is what i us...they all get the job done...it just depends on how u equalize the final sound and your knowledge in synthesis

tribal instruments synths/plugins
chans replied to CosmicEquilibrium's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
try native instruments' battery it'll be havin samples though but its killa -
and yes, if u use fl, try observin the project 'vocal sounds' in short clips...it gives u and idea how to link several bandpass filters in series to produce vocal sounds... and in the karma modular synth, there's a killer preset called the talking lead if u use greenoak's crystal there's a bank full of such sounds on their homepage which u can download alongwith a tutorial on how it is done on crystal here's how it is done on analog/hybrid synths:- Use two saw osc's, the first transposed an octave down. Sync the second osc to the first. Mix in some noise (not much). put a bandpass 24db filter after it. Modulate the filter cutoff with the modwheel while you play and it'll 'talk'.

try big tick's angelina, a lil complicated at first but it can create some neat vocal sounds...u can also try using a vocoder if u have some sampled vowel sounds
-
try lookin in some horror or suspense movies

Basslines for goa
chans replied to CosmicEquilibrium's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
questions regarding basslines have been answered a hundred times...u gotta search this forum ad other forums -
well z3ta can perform better modulations compared to vanguard...the only drawbacks with z3ta is that it eats a hell lot of cpu, and its bit difficult to programme at first, especially the modulation matrix....but 1ce u understand it, its a killer tool except 4 the cpu problem

bassline vst's for cubase sx3
chans replied to Sifalis's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
there r many good vsts for basslines z3ta+, vanguard(for fat basslines), albino, hydra, v-station, muon tau pro, audiorealism bassline...and as for vb-1, try this:- download the vb-1 banks from kvr if u dont have 'em...select the bank 'ruvb1' and select the preset 'trombone??naa' put it through an eq decrease the higher frequencies, increase the mid jus a lil bit n make the bassline on the 2nd and 3rd octave for more tips tricks etc...,try the isratrance forum: the mother of all basslines thread hope that helped -
well i suggest u checkout the 'mother of all mastering thread' on the isratrance forum isratrance forum
