their kickdrum is monstrously wide and very warm, it wouldn't surprise me if it came from an analogue synth or drummachine, but which one? no idea also has a big compressor on it for sure, and maybe even a reverb when i come to think of it! basically you make kicks out of a sine wave and pitch manipulations, so if you have enough tuning options, you can get this effect if you compare enough with the etnica kick and search long enough for the right tuning, a good vst capable of doing this is microtonic, although you can make kicks with almost any vst around these days, its a matter of options available such as lfo, pitch, pitch modulation, and many types of sawforms and possible combinations to go from with sytrus vst you can almost create any sound possible!

finally got my hands on this pearl! love songs to the source was quite good, this is even better cool bluetech style tracks in the first half of this album, then later it's more mellow, ethereal ambient! trippin stuff, especially avatar of the horticult!

in most of my tracks i got about 5 leads going on in the full parts and ending climaxes, which is an absolute bitch to mix

i got wav recordings coming from original DAT material (shadow dance & rotating fields), and i've seen that the compression and overall volume level isn't too much (at least in shadow dance) so adding extra dynamics and compression should be possible, i'll use the remaster on mind rewind as pointer for my mastering version
