Well, every Scandinavian country except Norway has some typical sound Denmark: Parvati sound (with Grapes of Wrath, Insane Behaviour,... Aarhus gang) Finland: the mad disco-cyber-punk-goa style (texas faggot, squaremeat,...) Sweden: Forest style (Kluster, Buddhas, Ka Sol) & Progressive house/tribal progressive style (Son Kite, etnoscope, S-Range,...) & a melodic trance part (Halosian, Filteria, Logic Bomb, Subcouds,...)

To be honest I don't really care about that, being on top on psynews is not the reason why we would sell 50 cds more at all... But for me it really is the fact that nobody checks page 2-3... And what if you release a comp called v.a. - Zoom in december? It will probably end up on page 4 on the bottom... Nobody would read it imo... Anyway, I'll start reviewing again, héhé

MFG - Experience it is driving me into madness 2 days already...
-
well, if I'm not wrong it are the same guys as Kopfuss Resonator... And they released an album long ago on Nephilim, but it is a much harder and Acid style... But I agree, amazing track! Also Clone VII is jummmiiieee!

Anoebis replied to Anoebis's topic in General Psytrance
The final two minutes of: Prana - Scarab (Green Nuns Rmx)! GMS - Jaws, after the break... -
MFG - Experience (6:18, the second before it all EXPLODES!) The end of Chakra - Hallucinator The final melody/climax of Filteria's Navigate Etnica - Mystical Apperearance in goa, the whole song is one best moment, the evolution is p.e.r.f.e.c.t. Derango - Secret Surroundings (when the bassline enters, after Ned Flanders!) There are many more, but those passed my cd player today
-
Well, the tracklist on the cd is like this: Cd2 - 6 Etnica - Nes 7 Indoor - Naxos 8 Etnica - Full On 9 Indoor & Dino - Phreaky 10 SHiva - Monkey But the real version is like this 6 Pleiadians - Analogue Step 7 Indoor - Naxus 8 Etnica - Full On 9 Phreaky - Tornado 10 Shiva - Monkey (???) It's a track from Elysium, I'm sure... So it is FILLED with mistakes, almost incredible

Ow shit, I'm really sorry, I mixed it up with Mystey Trance for some reason (I only saw the cover very briefly...) But the description still fits, it's more on the hypnotic-progressive side of early goa trance, with some more "normal trance songs" in between... The second cd is better as the first imo... About the Pleiadians track, it is really good yes, but released elswehere I think (check discogs). Btw; on the cd it is written as Etnica - Nes, not Pleiadians
-
I have it, and it is rare (well duh) About the music, it is very hypnotic trance, no frenetic old school but hypnotic trance before progressive started (we could call this the progressive of early goa), you know, Planet Ben style but it's nicely mixed with a good flow

Amybe I would have said it different I'm not saying evolution is bad or trance is dying (because it's NOT! I'm now listening to Schizm of last year, what a Damn hectic piece of mad music!) But simply, why does it seem to be bad when the same kind of trance is still made 10 years after the birth/youth of it? And also I'm wondering, what is inspiring the new kinds of trance... is it drugs? (full on = mdma music, old school more lsd?) etc? or just the community? or...?
-
ok, I read alot about the evolution of trance, what will be next etc... Now is it just me or isn't it really necessary to have a new kind of trance every 3 years? When I fell in love with goatrance it was all about melodies and the blissfull feeling... And lol, even after 7 years I don't want anything else... is it bad if artists make the same kind of music even after 10 years? I would say: NO! (rock exists for 30 years, Classical music even for 350 years and they also always use the same instruments etc) Is it bad that new kinds of trance are born? Also No of course! But in the trance scene it seems like everyone has to jump on the next train with their music, so few manage to keep their original style... So the second part of the question, what will be next? I would say the scene splits even more, into Dark Trance, a progressive house scene and a really psychedelic scene (both new school, experimental finnish stuff etc) and maybe Full On simply dies? (dream on)

also, look to the votes, in the mean time the people that want change are almost with double as many... Lemmi, give us back good old reviews like before
-
well yes, like you noticed I wasn't much on psynews 12-4 months ago, but it caught more interest again

Well yes, as you said the most important between a label and an artist is trust... Try to work together with people you are able to trust, so there is no need for fights afterwards... And if shit happens, there are several solutions, but I agree that it may be MUCH more work to get your few 100€ by court then just work for it...
-
@ Lemmiwinks This is nothing personal of course, but the way it is now is one of the reasons why I post less (no?) reviews (and also the fact that I don't hear so much "new" music). I don't see a point in writing a review on page 2 of 2005, because I never looked @ page 2 myself, so I guess it's the same with others, so like that the reviews get lost... It's true that with "last post first" system only the popular reviews will stay on top, but nobody will withhold you from posting a review of a less popular cd and bringing it on top like that... The best solution would be a system like psynews before... With the real reviews... But it will be here again... One day.........

That's not naieve, in Belgium you have some kind of court for lower amounts of money (below 5000€ I think) called "vredegerecht" => peacecourt?, and if you have a contract, you'll be right within a few seconds... What's the use of a contract otherwise?
-
Come on hippies Make Love... not war...
-
Of course, but that all costs money, so it depends on how big you see your label... For a bigger label that is necessary... But for smaller labels psynews and Isratrance is very easy simply because it is free advertisement of course! But my experience is the best way to sell alot is on parties... I think 80% of people on goa parties know nothing about the music... And they don't care... but if they have the chance to buy a cd for 10€ on a party, they will be easily persuaded... I've sold over 100 Filteria cds in Belgium alone like that Like you said, bring the music to the real world
-
Well, it happens to us all the time :s in belgium it's normal as a dj that you don't get any money when the organiser had no profit... If it is fun? No, of course not as I pay enough for my cds and I put alot of efford in every dj set, but on the other hand I can understand. And if they really give me my money after their next party I would be happy already anyway, I see your point, if you are an artist and you get no money for your work it's not fun of course, but ok, to conclude this topic... Work with clear contracts all the time and there can be no real problems!
-
I agree, by date is much better
-
aha, today I am a happy man I had Blue Moon Cd1 : Dogma - Land of Utopia Blue Moon Cd2 : Astral projection - Dancing Galaxy (Chinese version) Blue Moon Cd4 : Psy-nergy Trance asia express Total Eclipse - Delta Aquarids (Blue Room version) Har-El - Pagan Moon Child Pro Cannabis 2
-
Sounds like a good plan, but do realise a label is also alot of work, I gues, as an artist, you make music, sell it, and that's it... With a label you'll have an extra part time job on top of your normal work... But if it pays off it's worth it for sure!
-
Well yes, in theory you are 100% right, and when we started the label we had put a BIG amount aside in case something goes wrong, or we were paid late, but luckely that was no problem so far... BUT If I may believe Kluster Stone Age didn't get their money of 2-3 releases from Cosmophilia... you know this is a HUGE amount (like 1000 cds at least of each release?). If you want their money you can start sueing them, and then we are months/years later already... So artists should get paid, 100% agree, but when a label is ripped off by the distributor they should understand that the money comes later (when they had it from the distributor)... And this means the main problem seems to be the distributor in most cases (some labels not, I know, and well, write their names here, fuck them). But because in the trance scene it is fobidden to talk about this kind of stuff new labels don't know who to trust and who don't... I mean, we were already glad we found a distributor, we could only hope he paid like it was written down in the contract, but luckely he did, so our artists will always get their money, but I can understand some labels have big financial problems if they simply don't get the money from their cd-sales!
-
If I may believe all the rumours, I can only say that is true... But I'm not sure if it's always the labels fault, I know some labels that still need alot of money from their distributor, and as long as they didn't get it, they can't pay the artists... Luckely Arabesque is a reliable distributor!
