I have seen some people seem to miss the 303, well, me too! But wel, it's hard to believe the 303 just dissapeared, probably some are still making Acid-Trance I guess, but can anyobody help me with finding it? (since 2000) => it wouldn't surprise me that there are still ass kicking songs in the "acid" scene, anybody knows more about that? or some hidden songs on 2000+ compilations? Thanks

I heard exactly the same Jeff, probably their upcoming album (lol, I went to the release party of it 2 years ago in London), will never come out...

and within a few weeks another release will be done by a 50% belgian label Of a Swedish artist though (simply because there is not yet enough good material available in Belgium yet... :s but we have some promising artists I think, maybe in the future...)
-
For me it must have been Electric Universe, some pretty crappy full on tracks, but some beautiful goa tracks... Jupiter 8000 is good too, but not THAT good...

the last one of the till 2000 series is a track of the first album of Xenomorph (Cassandra's Nightmare), that sample is from Indiana Jones and the temple of doom btw (the moment where he is ripping the guys heart out) and I also know the first song, it's Brittish, but I must check it again... I can't remember the name :s

yes, I love this cd also, it must have been one of my most played cds this year... Great listening music with number 4, 5, 7 and 9 as climax great melodic progressive morning trance
-
very groovy and melodic: Passion on Midijium records, in fact, you should like all Midjium releases also stuff as Silent Sphere, Blue Vortex and Star Sound Orchestra's last release are melodic groovy/progressive psy trance, far away from minimal music
-
well, for once I don't agree with Lepton either The kicks are much harder then GMS no 1112 1112 melodies on the 4/4 beat and no annyoing high hats, the climaxes are not full on like at all, and the melodies/sounds are much different... He dares to use sounds that some would describe as "old school" sometimes 303-like Acid sounds (which I love) But I understand some people don't like this album because the melodies are too much "in your face" and cheesy for some... But I just like the album, don't love it, but like it... I would give it an 8/10 (best songs number 2 and 5) ps: Derango is a total different style indeed, this is much more melodic with "gothic" melodies, that's why it's called dark I guess (altough I don't think it's dark either)

the worst site for this is probably Psyshop... if you must believe their texts EVERY release is groundbreaking and the best ever... anyway, I feel the same as some others, it is very hard to read objective reviews these days, not only for cd-releases, but also for parties... And telling your own truth can make people really angry, so I think it is better to shut up sometimes I think the best way of having a good picture of a cd is: -ask friends what they think of it (they will be honest) -listen to the samples on Psyshop -or you download one song of it (Which I don't, but it is a good way anyway)

At home I took the time to look at my mums vinyls, and most of it are 60's rock vinyls, but I was really amazed when I heard the Tangerine Dream vinyls, véry good ambient it is! Even today, it doesn't sound 30 years old AT ALL!! Does anybody has any more recomodations of groups that made such good ambient back then?
-
well, Iboga is better imo, Ethnobotany is still one hell of a compilation! *altough I normally don't really like progressive*, but ok, just my opinion
-
Well, I have at least 500 cds from 94-99 so I think I have a clear view on the "old school" and modern full on, and there truly is a difference imo... for me there are 4 big differences: -the bassline (that's the most obvious difference, is always the same) -the layers (modern full on acts only use 1 melodic layer... Mfg used 5!! (check we are the machines etc) -the climaxes (you can always EXACTLY say when a climax will come in modern full on, mostly they have a FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIw sound on it to make it even MORE clearly, in older full on they surprised you a lot) -the same sounds are copied exactly all the time! The high hats like GMS and the "fart sounds" like Alien Project But about Astrix, he knows the formula 100% and when you hear his tracks the first time on a party the party goes nuts, but when you listen to them at home... Well... Skipp... I even like his old nitzho tracks more than his modern full on tracks...
