UX – Audissey (Live & Beyond) - Anjuna Records
Anoebis replied to Anoebis's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
Well, the big amount of cds I expected (50) are stuck in customs without ANY news, I mail them, no answer, I just see in the number of the post it is stuck... great huh? For now, I try to get some more when I go to Israel this weekend. I will keep you guys informed -
For me SUN Festival Transylvaliens Boom Lost Theory Psy Fi Connection - summer over -

Well, I played allover the world now, and the answer is without any doubt, Israel on nr. 1 and then Belgium I guess... Israel has several goa-parties, with only goa (!!) often with known or unknown acts every week... Belgium around 1-2 every month... The atmosphere is more or less the same in both countries, with the difference in Belgium the scene is smaller so less "Arsims" and more only music freaks... Some other countries are doing very well too, like Serbia, Kroatia, Holland, Spain and rising countries like France, Brasil, Japan...
-
Well, even that is changing, Toi Doi is not even reviewed after a month... Everyone was begging for more psychedelic, more crazy goa, and once it is there... it is forgotten like that... Curious how the future of reviewing will be! I hope some new reviewers show up soon!

New cd's available in the Suntrip webshop :)
Anoebis replied to Anoebis's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
Good, it also depends on post services I guess (which are more reliable in Finland then Greece or India I guess ) but anyway, we will do the sticker thing anyway and the future for bulks also looks good! -
As for the samples, thanks guys, I was expecting a lot of negative comments because of being so out of the regular... but nice to hear! This will be the hypnotic darker type with 2-3 mad tracks in between, the Morphic coming after this will be the mad darker one Send us a mail (Anoebis@suntriprecords.com) , lets see what we can do. As we have the cheapest cds ( of course) because being direct from the source, but shipping is only cheap compared with other countries in bulk

Ah yes, good news for bulk buyers, in a few weeks we will normally have new possibilites in the Belgian post to pack 5+ cds in special out of range boxes, which are more protected. Of course it will cost between 12-18€, but at least it will be registered automatically and the size doesnt matter so I can pack them well in special boxes. We are negotiating about this contract (it depends on the amount of packs we ship every year) -

Well, interesting topic... First of all: 80% of the orders I receive have broken cases, so its not that weird (and that is the reason why I prefer jewel cases over digipacks, because of replacing) but of course it is not supposed to be like that. As for handling. The main issue, and most noticed I guess, is the fact post rates are MADNESS in Belgium. 1-100 grams is 3.7€, 101-350 grams is 7.2€. So, for 1 cd, even adding 1 grams is too much, we are on the TOTAL edge... We can pack them in cardboard and stuff, but then 1 cd would cost 18€ shipping included. Total madness, and 3 cds would be 12-18€ for shipping. So this would mean, losing a lot of customers. So the most logic thing is indeed to make clear red fragile stickers to add on the packs. I never knew so many were cracked... it is clearly a post problem anyway as the are all packed in bubble plastic enveloppes... But ok, we will take care of extra stickers, lets hope I have them in a week or 2 for all your listening pleasure! And let me know in a few months if that caused any improvement! -
The latest status I heard is that he is still not making any new goa.... Thats it :s
-
The sounds have been heard before... But the compositions!!! It's like with Rock... A guitar has been done 10000000 before, and still, the right melody/combination/composition can still do wonders! Same for goa... which is far less explored then rock for instance still enough possibilities

As for reviewing, it IS true I rarely write reviews, because sometimes I don't like a certain release of friends, and then I prefer to be silent instead of pointing at it... Not sure what the best is to do

Interesting discussion somehow, I think there is a change happening within this modern goa-movement. Things are starting to become more various and different labels start to focus on different stuff... Hard for me to judge if online only labels deliver less quality. Some are clearly amateurs but some are doing really good I think, and are not "less" because they don't release cds. And more important: never forget those online only releases and their artists are often the launch for other labels! So they are needed... But if I am talking really honest, it IS true only 10-20% of modern goa appeals me and if we have to make a compilation, it is often even hard to find 10 REALLY good tracks between 200-300... but on the other hand, this is all subjective of course and depends on taste. But yes, if you like high pitched melodic goa these are golden times, if you prefer more floating or darkish stuff, there is less stuff, but always more and more...

That is for sure... and the beauty before this... damn, it still warms my heart every time I hear it... So "above the clouds" music, it drives me to instant happiness!
-
That depends on definition then I agree with what you write a floaty track is... but Celestial Intelligence for instance has a lot of climaxes and melodic twists allover the place they have FANTASTIC floaters (Perpetual Energy & Inevitable Feelings) but they are not their usual stuff... Good floating music creates a warm blanket and makes you dance with arm wide like a Jesus instead of in the air like with Tiesto
-
I think there is very little floaty... Most is just highly melodic or high pitched melodic instead of floating... You need some magic to make a good floating track! for the new artists the latest outcome of Centavra Project are exactly floating stuff... nice

"What a DJ does is this: he knows music. The DJ knows music better than you, better than your friends, better than everyone on the dancefloor or in the record shop. Some DJs know their chosen genre better than anyone else on the planet." THIS must be your strength, know EVERY track you play and make sure it is the exact right one fitting after the other exact right one... out of 300 other tracks As for the mixing itself, it is highly personal, but for me the trance flow is very important... So no sudden cuts or no unneeded effects. Simple as that I guess
