Krumelur - Minimal Animal is someone in the same vein imo... Altough it less funky... On the more funky side the Orion - Metamorpheus album comes in my mind... But that's less psychedelic

I moved from normal trance to goa trance late 1998, so when I was 16 years old... ( I had goa trance before but never realised what it exactly was)

VA - Opus Iridium [Suntrip Records / SUNCD10]
Anoebis replied to mars's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
Thanks for the nice words everyone! It took us alot of time and work to compile it, but I'm sure it was worth it @ Basilisk, I'll mail you tonight @ everybody: if you have some nice writing about new school or old school goa stuff, parties with modern goa, interviews from the 90s with old school artists etc... don't hesitate to contact me, the booklet isn't filled yet... -
cool she has a site, but a new and updated one will be online soon... Also expect alot more paintings and stuff in the double cd we'll release... anyway, here we go: www.margotschaefer.com

That I agree (to prove this... The artwork of Twist Dreams and Apsara was made by a woman... Actually my mum, héhé) but I always see music = mathematics = male thing (I explained why), that's why music is less female, but not necessarely other types of creative stuff
-
But all that is NOT the reason why there are less women in the scene today right!? I mean, this explaines why there are less creative people of 30-40+, but how many girls of 25 stay in the house to cook etc? Well, I know NONE... All the people I know of my age and that are able to work, work... Girls and boys... And still they are not as active in making psy trance!? So, that's not the reason for sure... As a teacher I am confronted with youth in general, my school is partly a fassion school, and girls there are very creative, but not one (of the 150 I teach) is interested in making music... (I talk alot about that in my classes), while the 2 boys that are doing fashion as well are busy with it... 1 is a hip hop producer, the other drummer... Coincedance? Naaah...

interesting... But the reason WHY that is, is simply what I explained earlier on... Men have to conquer women... So because of that men have to proove themselves (NOT the other way around!!!!!), and because of that we (men) are better in obsessive things... Now, because of being obsessive we managed to improve alot of things like architecture, maths,... Another reason why men are better in maths/logistics is because for hundred and thousands of years men had to hunt for food, and find their way back, which made them think more logical and because of that they also were brain trained to find solutions to these dangerous hunts... Because women got kids, and we, humans, have the problem of having kids that still need 10 years of work before they are adult, they were always linked with eachother (the womaninstinct) => And that is the reason why so many women had to stay home... Ok... I had alot of lessons about this
-
actually it's science And i'd love to have more girls in the scene, but well... We never ever had 1 promo on Suntrip from a girl Also, the few Belgian djs that were female djs mostly got booked often because they were female, not even because they could play that well... (and now they are mostly history because of that)

I didn't read the whole discussion, but I just wanted to add it is proven that the reason why there are less females in music is because of: - They have less obsession in things... So also in music... The reason why men are obsessive is because they need to prove themselve in 1 thing to be able to catch a woman (well, thats the biological history)... So with music Only very few girls are very obsessive with music, and THAT is the reason why the psyforums are 90% male Girls often like talking, partying,... more then music as well on those forums We, men, seem to listen to music as like it was a godly creation (and it often is )

ok, this was me (Anoebis) As Mars said... you'll be surprised (I didn't read his comment at first)
-
we offered several times to pay you, you never wanted a cent for it back then because you did it for the music and you rather wanted us to invest that amount into other cds... Back then a very generous offer, what ended up in several gigs etc where you did get paid and you won alot of attention... altough I knew I had to be careful with that, as we can see now * I still have it in my msn history*

I'm a teacher religion and history... Not english as long as people understand me...

Well, it's actually quiet simple... We don't push our artists for deadlines... At first the thing was planned to get released last year (we even had a CATnr for it, that's why SUNCD07 still does not exist), but he wasn't ready yet... And he still isn't, now around 6 tracks are finished... All fantastic, marvelous dreamy goa trance tracks... the old style! We *HOPE* to get it released in spring now... I will have Christer playing on a party of mine in december, and I hope around that time we can finish all the details but as he promised to play new music in his live act, I'm sure completion is coming closer and closer, altough no deadlines! Artists should employ themselve as much as they want, so the result is the best

it changed my life dramatically... But in a good way... At 15 I was kind of weird, normal parties didn't interest me... I listened to normal trance, but the atmosphere of discos, being cool parties etc was the total opposite of me... naaah, actually I must have looked like a shy nerd back then... All my friends going out, I always saying "naah... I will stay home reading a book" Untill I discovered goa... I still remember the first party as yesterday (in 98), I went there alone, and it was the best decission of my life... This was thé music and thé atmosphere I wanted... Without even knowing it! This was my dream coming true! Since that moment I had a way to release my hyperkinetic feelings, a way to heal myself a way to show my own personal enjoyment of life to people (via djing), and it gave me the mental freedom I like so much now I still feel that adrenaline rushing through my vains while hearing a good track... the next 2 hours this means a big smile and happy happy all around! But also on bad moments it was my supporter! I can not really describe what more it did with me, but it made me, it formed me as who I am now... Take away the music (and my gf) and my life becomes useless!
