Yes Parasense is dark psy while the others are Goa. I can agree with that in the way everybody tends to differentiate between the artists mentioned here. But the ideas all came from Goa right? for me psy and goa are the same and i like to refer to them both as psychedelic music , so if something is dark it isnt dark goa but dark psy. but as far as standard definitions that we are used to , to differentiate between the old and the new sound , you are partly correct. IMO hallucinogen wasn't as dark as sandman and cydonia therefore for me it started with the latter.

+1 I still think his debut is unbeatable (all genres). cant get more psychedelic than that for me.

Double standards + patronizing attitudes Darkpsy as originally intended came about as a result of artists like Sandman , Cydonia who put together a sound that was eerie, heavier & spookier than whatever was was being being released back then. Fear of the red planet is one of darkest trance albums along with witchcraft because of the foreboding & mysterious atmosphere they create. Nothing for me comes close to beating them in terms of pure darkness. Sadly the new breed of artists for whom speed has become a substitute for spinning the dark atmospheres have ruined the darkpsy genre for the rest of the fans who now have to hear such criticisms from people that probably never really enjoyed dark music and now find it convenient to bash the subgenre. There is some degree of truth to the fact that most of what parades around as darkpsy isn't really dark according to the objective purist view of dark but to feel that the delta is darkest darkpsy out there is a bit delusional tbh.

If dark psy is not dark ,why the term "dark"psy then? anyway , traskel is one producer whose work i always thought was dark, scary and disturbing. cant remember the name of the track right now (tried searching on isratrance , their search function sucks). you could check out pick up procedure for starters.

+1 on the waves of sound album , there is still something fresh about it. and some parts are pretty trippy and psychedelic in the emotional context. on a side note: are there any examples of artists who started out cheezy and then started making trippy psychedelic underground sounds?

hi nemo! Though Etnica comes really close for me its Toi Doi - Technological. i have always been a fan of the heavier sound.

Must be in a bad mood yesterday for being a bit harsh in my perception of this gathering votes for a new album thingi but what really got me so worked up was his reply on the 1st page saying the same people with different accounts are voting so the poll is rigged... he should be thinking WOW people love my music so much that they are creating fake accounts to poll... but doesnt he know that already? saying something like that makes him comes across as someone who needs to get off his high horse with all the praise and accolades having gone to his head. just release an album without having to resort to a 1000 votes. that IMO is just a cheap way of playing hard to get
