  1. What a nice thread! Where and what would i be without psytrance ? it really is a very easy question but the answer is so damn difficult, to think of all those moments that i have spent with psy on my own doing nothing but just dancing away immersed in the groove imagining myself floating away into the infinity of nothingness. would i call it waste of time ? yes and no. I think i share the same thoughts as GSH , i would have completed my math hons degree in time and would have got some killer work ex for an MBA abroad and in some way i do blame psy for setting me back a few years. but without it life would be so dull. Psychedelic made me question things that i would normally have never even thought about, maybe this was a direct result of the kind of friends i had at uni , my flatmates who were into philosophy and stuff. i was introduced to a new way of thinking and psy did play a major role in influencing that like thinking out of the box and stuff and questioning the very foundation on which reality is based. the hows and why's of everything. this couldn't have come about if i hadn't met the very people who i happened to meet when i was introduced to psytrance. so it all sorta panned out in a way that completely changed me as a person from what i was initially. I regret a few things but at the same time im happy i discovered this music. The key I feel is to find that balance which all of us are striving to achieve.
  2. FRR ! derango vs electrypnose (im talkin about talent here)
  3. ...all people who heard psytrance didnt listen to music with lyrics . still is a little true, generally speaking
  4. still believe that. except when i hear hallucinogen in dub live.
  5. finally got that album. its really good for sure. phat bass sound with neat effects and melodies. favourite dark psy would be a combination of greg on earth's wizadry + psykovsky's madness + derango's foresty sound. with a pinch of GOW and Zolod to add that little extra something to the whole soup.
  6. Electric Universe - Cosmic Experience Digital Talk - New Age Surf Audialize - Wanted
  7. ....psytrance parties were held in some far off secret location as a ritual, some sort of a religious cult with all the participants dancing and worshiping the backdrop, at that time om, shiva, elves, fairies etc which i thought were depictions of various gods of this unknown sect and the dj was the chosen one , the master of ceremony to bring them closer to god.
  8. what next? daylight dark psy, afternoon goa, dusk chillout, dawn twilight , midday fullon ? common guys get over it. you could define music as hard, crossover or soft within sub- genres not night and day please.
  9. Yagya - Rigning stone age records vs glowing flame records
  10. IMO the rating option should appear on top of a thread one year after the release of the album/compilation so that allows enough time for people to decide what rating should be accorded. Infact one should not be able to post a review till one month after any album is released. Early reviews are often not a very good judge of the music, you almost always need time to be able to tell how good the music is. Listening to an album ten times in one week is so different from listening to it ten times over a month.
  11. http://www.tmz.com/2009/08/14/sienna-mille...-slinky-wizard/ psytrance goes Hollywood. yay. maybe sienna will introduce her female friends to some good ol goa and then people in England will get to see some star power at festivals .
  12. That all powerful feeling that comes after a spiritual psy experience is when there is pure consciousness, good ego in a way, that is usually not in conflict with any other any ego in the ether space. i dunno about you when i am totally one with the music on the dance floor i tend to attract other people around all experiencing the same energy, there is a sort of mind expansion that takes place at that moment which happens sub-consciously. If the event lasts a good period of time it could be called active meditation , being one with everyone around. that for me is the ultimate ego loss and it also helps breaks barriers between people. And being able to relate to and understand each and every human being without prejudice is the highest virtue of mankind according to me.
  13. that's the biggest question, innit? its not always good, you need a certain sense of the self to get by in this material , selfish world, where each man is for himself, a necessary evil so to speak to enjoy the desires one craves for . whereas on the other hand, in a more philosophical context we are all going to die one day, life is too short to be stuck in the confines of one's own mind, the joy that comes with destruction of the ego ive heard can be infinite and ive experienced it in short doses to believe in it being true. but there's a catch IMO, there can be ego loss only when the ego has come full circle, meaning when its fully satiated will it let go of you. till that happens it will never let you chill in peace.
  14. Well obviously one has to try and implement those changes that occur during or after such transcendental sessions to become a better person, and i know one cannot simply change overnight, sorry if i didnt make it clear enough. my point is my friends feel that one doesnt achieve anything from trance dance , no higher cousciousness , no feeling of oneness, spirituality etc etc . which i feel is very shallow. its all about having a good time according to them . they dont feel it can be used as a positive tool for lessening the ego, accessing higher virtues like selflessness forgiveness that are opposite of the ego. i just wanted to check what the majority thinks here! so the question changes to : does trance dance mean something more than having a good time to you , can it be used as a means to achieve higher states of consciousness?
  15. I'm going to ask the same question i asked in isratrance so don't kill me seriously, this is something that Ive been really thinking about today at work because of a discussion going on through e-mail with my college buddies. My friends don't believe me when i say that trance dance is an effective tool to realize other states of consciousness , the true pure self and for lessening of the ego. They say its all about enjoying the music and it ends at that. their reasoning is that you might introspect a little about whatever it is that one philosophizes about , we do nothing the next day what we say in those altered states of consciousness so my question is : Does one come out a better person after an eye opening psycho spiritual/ metaphysical state achieved through trance dance meditation or is it just an illusion of the senses that we have changed and we haven't really achieved anything other than transient states ?

Me too. One thing i didn't get is why did jon have to kill him? He could have just wiped his mind of the memory given he had god like powers. such a likeable character like Rorschach didn't have to die. but i guess that is what makes the movie so good. liked it as much if not more than the Dark Knight!

Watchmen As close to perfect as a Hollywood blockbuster can get. most likely going to be a commercial success and whet the appetites of cine critics at the same time. the perfect example of art meets commercial cinema for me 8.5/10 Pretty thought provoking towards the end as well .. so who's side are you on Adrians or Rorschach's ??
