Which album have you been listening to too much recently? For me its been Entropy - Think slow move fast This has to be one of the best out and out killler darkpsy albums released probably in the last three years. The production is A class. You have to hear it to believe it. the duo have totally out done themselves .. if you thought purple people was good this is going to blow your brains out. :posford: Black is one of the best tracks to come out in this genre. ITS THAT GOOD. Doof doof !!! (Its been a good year so far for darkpsy fans im presuming. The atriohm and encephalopaticys split was brilliant as well)

I would tend to agree with you because if you blast both 320 kbps and 192 at optimum volume on a good sound system you cannot really notice the difference. I don't want to get into the technical aspects of the former being of greater quality so it sounds better ( maybe through really high quality headphones) because it is below the threshold of just noticeable difference. All you theoretical tech geeks might prove this wrong, as far as practical experiences are concerned, im sure it remains the same for bit rate above 192 to an average listener. Filteria has put out a good album here, in fact amazing to think of what it could do to a trancefloor played at the right time. Whats evident here is that its totally meant more for dancefloors than it is for home listeners. All tracks are above average, infinite regression takes the cake with the cherry on top in terms of the frenzy created by the hyper melodic aspect of it. It could have been a masterpiece if all those melodies and basslines werent in your face with more subtlety and variation which is on the lower side im afraid. Nonetheless a super awesome album if you're into punching the air or that kind of a thing

Another point the movie was trying to make is that man should be left to make his own rules and live by whatever makes him happy , not according to social dictates and norms.

There will always be a flip side to the perception of a certain given situation, which is what i love about analyzing movies or anything else for that matter. Different strokes for different folks? social life can be pretty bothersome no matter how close the bond and deep the love, aren't there times when you crave for your own little private space , times when you want to run away from your worldly duties , material possessions and not have anything to do with another human being.. and then there are other days when one wants to have as much contact with the material world as they can and enjoy the closeness of being with loved ones . Maybe he just got fed up doing the latter and wanted to explore and enjoy the spoils of pure unadulterated natural life with no strings attached. It was not that he was selfish but that unconditional love which he was after more than anything else, not the one where there are expectations and hence unhappiness I also tend to agree with lemmiwinks here , cant really judge the character coz its biographical. the director was limited by that fact and wanted to tell the story as per the book with obviously a little modification according to the way the story pans out on screen ( the actors + various other real life situations while making the movie) and the directors own vision.

must be a party getting busted for sure. are you sure they weren't cops, pietones?
-
Im very surprised to read that. I thought it was one of the best darkpsy albums of 2007

Strangely I have to agree with that. Its like a burden that all psytrancers have to live with, you have to like simon p and all his works. if you don't then there could be something gravely wrong with your psy EQ/IQ. Except for the sample in demention , this album is a like gaping hole after twisted which was relatively decent, and im only saying the latter to save myself from getting flamed by all the graduates from the posford school of psy.

I played it for my sister yesterday and she thought it was very boring. I 30% agree with her, i just couldn't come up with any interesting words while playing scrabble. although there is nothing that you can dislike about the music. maybe , like buzz says, and i do feel it also , it needs more time like most albums which are awesome but do not come across like that initially.

Couldn't agree more. Talpa wasnt engaging enuf, bliss was just crap, celtic cross had no emotion, and the damage album was aptly titled. I think the original is amazing. or do you mean re-mastered?

Who else thinks this has the potential to be the best chill album of the year? the atmosphere this guy creates are absolutely gorgeous... cant think of any album released till now which can rival this in any way!! get it here

can't wait to blast it proper.. once the folks are gone that is :posford:

Where is it that you experience total freedom and oneness with the music? I have much more fun at home where i don't have to restrict myself going all out. Sometimes at partys i get conscious and am not able to get into the music as much as i would like, i get the feeling everyone is staring at me. I know this is a tad retarded but it happens sometimes, you know i get very bored also if the music is not upto the mark and slightly frustrating if i cannot play the kind of music i want. Home listening experiences more often than not with friends have been awesome times.. the trance state of mind comes easier to me in familiar surroundings. Probably which is why i have stopped going for partys altogether. Hope im not getting old Given a choice what would you go for? What is more fun for you??

1. Softly Spoken Spell 1:59 2. Nowhere Dub 9:56 3. Make Animals Happy 6:39 4. Nightbreak 10:02 5. Wonderland 8:08 6. History of Dreams 8:40 7. Whale Salt Dog 4:44 8. Arab Star 10:46 9. Solid State 8:01 10. Warp Dub 5 4:59 11. ...in the Valley of the Kodama 2:23 Warp Technique was originally created as an experimental dance project by friends Bill Fuller and Tom deMajo, with inspiration and studio collaboration from maestro Ted E Dog, the Warp Technique sound evolved to encompass a broader range of movement in moment. Weaving sounds from across the electronic spectrum, one cannot pigeon hole this album. I can describe it as a dub odyssey brought to you through double dipped doses of spacey progressive ambient grooves, which makes you wanna call it minimal techno but that I’m afraid couldn't be further away from the truth. This is chillout of the psychedelic kind at its maximal best. A general description to sum it straight up for people looking for a short explanation of what this album is all about would be "Fat dub grooves interspersed with sound effects from a far away alien land - fodder for the escaping mind". Quirky samples, for example, a Martin Luther speech in solid state, form a part of this epic journey. It’s like watching a tape with the imagery that the samples and sounds bring to mind, or a star trek in slow motion through an exotic part of space with anti gravity visuals and all the alien sounds effects to entertain us as we move along. But not all of the them are alien; there are drifting Middle Eastern vocals and instruments in Arab star which I interpret as thanking god for all his creations. It’s a melting pot of various genres mashed in downtempo gravy. The standout track here is Wonderland Dub (T5). The hallmark of the sound here feels like a massive low- pitched bass guitar. It is layered with the varying sounds and volumes drawing attention to the shape and depth not just of the sounds themselves but to the space in between those sounds. Just awesome! Recommendation: I would safely recommend this album to all fans of psychedelic downtempo, as well as dub. It comes across as sort of experimental following the ethos which comprised the formation of the band but at the same time treads the known territory of ambient music. Enjoy the dubby vibes!

How else would you get to know whats good and whats bad? I find most of my music through downloading as well. I know the artists that have been making good music over the years and I make it a point to follow them closely. There are very few albums that i actually end up buying because most of the psy just isnt worth the moohlah TBH.
