Haven't heard the neelix album but i can safely say its not like atmos even though both released on spiral trax. Its more tribal and percussive like etnoscope if you wanna draw some comparison.

I agree. Very mediocre considering it was a landmark event they were celebrating. Which is why i never downloaded the compilation in the first place.

Going by pure acting, even ace ventura and mask were performances that required no ordinary talent, which this man is obviously blessed with. Thinking Jim carrey is an idiot means you have no idea how to judge acting.

My vote goes to FOTL too. Those tracks were anthems for me as well, used to choreograph myself to smbu , breathe & firestarter as a teenager. I too must have heard it like a million times, the cassette burned out :drama: never heard such music before back then , prodigy was responsible for me getting exploring the electronica genre. Heard jilted generation after that , was blown away by that too, but because i heard FOTL first it remains my all time favourite album.

This should be so totally worth it! :drama:

Should be in theatres by 2010. Jim carrey, Sean penn and Benicio del torro as curly, larry and moe respectively. The three could be really funny together, not too sure about penn tho. has he done some comedy before? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0383010/ Anyway, Im so looking froward to this!

Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85-92 Remastered 2008

Couldn't have been that bad , could it ? yes russel crowe over did it with the word 'buddy' , other than that cant see how the movie deserves such a low score.

Yep. It feels like he rushed through the tracks, added some unnecessary breaks and gave it a climax. Everything seems forced and lacks ideas. Dull at best.

This is an awesome album. The duo has restored my faith in dark psy; havent enjoyed an album so much since derango. There is engaging, groovy and the beats are perfectly pitched. not noisy, no annoying breaks . that is something that i have come to dislike big time in darkpsy. Which is why i couldn't enjoy Psykovsky's - da budet. i can make out a lot of thought has gone into most of the tracks. all dark psy heads should check it out, and others should listen with an open mind.

The wild blue yonder. I had a mixed reaction to this movie. On the one hand I thought it was really fascinating how the director used footage of space and underwater to tell a fictional story through real life images creating a surreal mindscape for the viewer. The underwater images were absolutely alien! On the other the footage of NASA astronauts flying about doing their thing got a bit boring and the soundtrack just did not gel. somewhere i got the feeling is trying to capture the tedium and incongruity of life but there are better ways of doing it. I think moviemakers should take a cue and better herzog's effort in making innovative, out of the box scifi films. This one would have had a better impact if it was slightly shorter, well edited and the character narrating relaxed a bit. 6.5/10

George Orwell - 1984 After all these years i finally got down to reading this classic again and it makes much more sense than the first attempt. About big brother and his totalitarianism regime with all the brainwashing and manipulation of info that comes part and parcel. I'm taking my time with it absorbing the author's brilliant ideas and style of writing.

Body of lies. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0758774/ I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Wonder why it wasn't nominated for an oscar? If not for individual performances then at least for best movie. Ridley scott delivers again. Great plot and even better direction. Watch it for an insight into how the cia operates 8.5/10

Exactly. Comparing them to the ozrics or orbital would make sense As far as pure objectivity and the poll is concerned, music wise, fsol has a discography that other groups cannot hold a candle to

1. Perpetual Movement 9:35 2. Cell Phone Spell 7:50 3. Restless 7:29 4. Groove 7:58 5. Tears of Joy 7:50 6. I Call it Acid 8:14 7. Twister 8:38 8. Memories 8:24 9. Downer 5:45 Tomic is German progressive trance producer Thomas Wagner. Born in Wuppertal, Germany he has been a producer and DJ for more than 15 years and having played in legendary clubs like the Move Club in Cologne he is a veteran of the electronic genre in his own right. After releasing some deep vocal house on labels like Kunstfu in the early 90s, he moved on to writing some progressive house and trance tunes with a psychedelic flavour. Thenceforth his works have featured on labels like Stripped , Iboga and Spiral Trax and his own Fraud recordings. The opening track Perpetual movements sets the tone for this percussive journey. The mood is laid back, the beat warm and comforting, almost endearing, and the groove sexy. A subtle melody plays around in the background. These are the perfect ingredients for a progressive trance track that in my opinion is going to be played a lot this springtime. Next up is (T2) Cell Phone Spell. There's a remarkable characteristic to German electronic music taking Klopfgeister as a reference. They are in absolutely no hurry! I love the build up in this track, elements forming the main structure are added one by one and not once do you get the feeling that it is done for the sake of it. Brilliant! (T3) Restless combines some decent percussion, effects and voice samples. The following track (T4) Groove is gentle in its approach initially but the bass gets progressively heavier and the sound more tribal. This reminds me somewhat of Etnoscope which is a very good thing! I am really beginning to enjoy the minimal nature of various elements in Tomic's music. There is a much more pronounced tribal feeling now which is clearly evident in (T5) Tears of Joy. The melody is again in the background and helps shape the track as a whole like a catalyst. It participates but doesn't consume any noticeable auditory space. (T6) I Call it Acid is a belter of a tune! The main melody is a call to the dance floor to come shake up whatever it is that you have been holding back. (T7) Twister isn't really a twister in the conventional psychedelic sense of the term. No twisted stuff, just pure trance with some housey influences. The sample goes "Damn I forgot the record again, I'm gonna have to just use our own knowledge". The track really picks up around the six minute mark with the introduction of a signature melody. Good work! (T8) Memories is a work of art done with a touch of class. Thomas Wagner shows us through this tune that he really knows how to catch the audience by the ear and pull them in- there is just no escape! This is absolutely divine! I would love to be caught dancing to this next to a beach on a sunny sunny morning!! It’s just too good to be true. (T9) Downer isn't really a downer, but a balmy chilled-out tune with a soothing female vocal to wrap things up. Recommendation: All in all My Number One is a great progressive trance/house album with a pinch of the psychedelic thrown in to draw audiences from all forms of electronic genres. We are sure to hear more in the future from Thomas Wagner aka 'Tomic' so don't go anywhere and watch this space while you lap MN1 up. Favorite tracks: 1(!), 2, 4, 6(!), 8(!!!)

Ball of gum indeed is one of the outstanding tracks of 2008 along with Dumble my Humble! Sounds rough and abrasive? you need to listen to this on a huge rig outdoors mate , then you'll know exactly what this album is about. not jarring and unpleasant at all The composition on this album flows like an orchestra filled with all kinds of sounds , effects , frequencies and melodies. The bass and treble components are just so perfectly matched. A true psychedelic album IMO :clapping: :drama:
