  1. Space Dwarfs is the one for me. Also the Space Tribe rmx of it (SD) is very decent, in case you haven't heard it.
  2. I'd certainly like to believe this is not the case. I do have to agree about the point about stagnation though. I don't personally like almost anything that's coming out these days. I'm often asking to myself is it the music or just me? Would I put on some old school record and I realize that there's still deeply rooted love for goa trance, just the modern aesthetic of it I'm somewhat tired of. What's missing a lot of times: 1) Proper build-ups/story 2) Melodic ear 3) Proper mix of effect sounds and melodies (like Hux Flux - Time Slices, Psychopod - Dreampod) I'm soon releasing my 2nd album, there's a bit of goa there too. I've really put a lot of work into it, trying in my own way to say how goa trance could be these days. But more later about that...
  3. Well, it was the last vinyl only from Doof (the same goes for Cosmosis, DE, Ushuaya, Hiscore & Gangguru) so it be a closure of some kind. Yes the track is very repetitive, but in my books a fantastic one with a clear motive to hypnotize the dancer. Very glad myself it was included and enjoy 19/20 tracks on this compilation so yeah need to agree; it's probably the best in the series so far!
  4. Oh yes. Good memory! Definitely one of my favourite tracks.
  5. Each to their own of course! Depends of one's motives to make music in the first place. But let's say you're a producer who is in it for creative purposes, then I'd say do all kinds of weird s*** as long as you can, as it develops the talent for broader composition skills in the end. After making music for a year or a couple, anyone's bound to find their signature sound and tracks would automatically start to sound a tad more homogenic in nature.
  6. I mix spontaneously these days, maybe there's a track or two I've got in mind but other than that I'll just see what happens. I used to prepare the tracklist like a week in advance, oh the madness. Hah, you know, me + Paul Eye and a friend of ours we organised a retro goa party last summer, lasting for two days. We played on both nights. I remember there might've been like 1-2 tracks I played both times (Subcouds - On Red (1999 pHlatline Mix), Logic Bomb - Neighbour of The Beast??) so I don't really stress about it any longer.
  7. Not an expert on the subject, but I did have 'Seance' and remember thinking, it's good for what it is - although I'm not a darkpsy guy. Recently I bumped into an artist with a similar, thoughtful style. You might like this: https://www.discogs.com/Kala-Cosmic-Caravan/release/7981628
  8. Not be be a review section of course, but it's a highly musical album that, I suppose, would satisfy any UX fan. I enjoyed listening to it throughout.
  9. They made a couple tracks to honor Pleiadians; Atlas, Pleione & Space Toy. This was in the 90s (or 2000 the latest). Pleione, by some miracle event, is getting released on Mind Rewind 3 so that's wonderful news. WN aren't together anymore, I think, and to release their old tracks is all but simple. Space Toy is my long time dream to be released, their best track in my books, but maybe 1-2 guys on earth have a copy of that in full quality (on some old dusty DAT tape). Other than that I appreciate their talent although their later style doesn't personally appeal to me.
  10. He made a couple really good ones in da dayz! The three Anoebis mentioned are some of my favourites too. Add 'Intelligent Life' to the list as well.
  11. The other really good one by Bassline Baby: This one of course:
  12. Interesting question! I'd have to exclude so many favourite artists as they've all done so much music there's gotta be something average in the lot. I think I can only mention artists that were prolific for a short period of time, and didn't evolve or change style later on. And the ones I can think of aren't many: Children of Paradise Technossomy Nova Fractal
  13. Hope someone uses your favourite title at some point. edit: You do realise it's suppose to be MDMA for short, bhai?
  14. Well let's see... Children Of The Bong - Sirius Sounds TIP - Mystical Experiences Shpongle - AYS? / TOTI Entheogenic - Spontaneous Illumination Mystery Of The Yeti The Orb - U.F.Orb Outolintu - Odd Man Out Connect Ohm - 9980
  15. Sounds very dated (even by old school standards) but could be a curiosity buy.
  16. You're right. Progressive goa is something along the lines of Planet BEN's "trippy future garden" or Shiva Chandra's "spicy moments" but not Intergalactic. But sure, let's drop the discussion for now.
  17. This a marvelous album! New Born has one of the best melodic ears in our scene and it's wonderful Cronomi gave him a chance for a full double album. He's got a knack for building the tracks patiently, yet making eloquent twists that keep the listener occupied and interested. The album is filled with rich, varied scenes with impeccable precision in choosing the right synths and effects. It's a daring, at places a bit "leftfield" even, album that I've hoped to hear in neogoa scene for way too long. It sounds like an album the producer had no rush releasing; a feeling that's all too often missing in about any modern day music. Very much recommended.
  18. I can't make a decent argumentation here with you as I can't even understand the point you're trying to make ('voiding the facts'). I'll give you the freedom of opinion to call 'Intergalactic' progressive goa if that's how you perceive it. However, by normal standards of progressive psytrance, it's a bold statement. On 'Intergalactic' the tracks are around 144-145 bpm, making it way too fast to be labelled as progressive. In fact, it's one of the albums I could recommend if somebody ought to ask me for 'classic psytrance'. Btw, even Etnica has made a lot of 'classic psytrance'. I'm sorry to say this astralprojection, but just happen to think your opinions are on this subject are something I can't quite fathom.
  19. I beg to disagree (big time)? He's music is on the verge of what you'd call "classic psytrance" already on 'Synergy' and the whole album 'Intergalactic' (2000) is a prime example of psytrance before the genre ventured into full-on schematics.
